Orthodontics is life altering! It not only straightens teeth but also changes faces as we work to achieve a balanced smile and facial aesthetics. I love when people come in who for years have smiled a closed-lip smile because they are embarrassed about their teeth, and leave smiling ear to ear because they are now so proud of their smile! It boosts their confidence and gives them the desire to smile, which brightens not only their day but those around them. I really enjoy getting to know my patients and watching them transform, mature, and gain self-esteem as their smile improves. Im inherently a perfectionist and that bleeds into my work; I want my patients smiles to be perfect! I gain such joy and fulfillment when I take braces off and my patients walk out of the office so excited with their new smile!
Growing up, I always thought Id be a physician like my Dad and grandfather. However, while in college, I also found that I loved math, science, and physics and that I like working with my hands. Orthodontics was the perfect fit: the ideal mix of science, physics, and patient interaction.
I attended the University of California-Los Angeles for my Doctorate of Dental Surgery and was blessed to be accepted to the orthodontic program at the University of Washington, one of the best in the country.
As a board-certified orthodontist, I am committed to continuing my education in order to treat patients to the highest level of care with the newest advances available. I am active in my local study club and frequently attend Orange County Advanced Dental Seminars. I am also a member of several professional organizations that provide continuing education opportunities throughout the year:
I am passionate about making people around me smile, not just with their straight teeth but also smile about life. This desire to serve others started at an early age when I was in boy scouts with the motto, Do a Good Turn Daily. Further, the church which I attend has a lay ministry so members are constantly asked to volunteer their time and efforts to help the people of the community.
Lastly, Im passionate about my family. My wife Brooke and I were married halfway through dental school. She stuck it out through the last two years of dental school and another two-and-a-half years of orthodontic training before moving to San Clemente.
We now have six children: four boys and two girls. Everything I do is focused on making a good life for my familyspending time with each of my children and helping them enjoy life. Youll often find me with my children at their soccer practices, basketball practices, at the beach, at the park, at the pool, or wherever else we can find fun!
Our entire team enjoys working in the San Juan Capistrano and San Clemente communities, and we love to do a number of things to help you feel a part of our family. In fact, its not unusual for Dr. Olsen and our team to run into our patients while out and about.

I had such a nice experience at Dr. Olsen's office today. Everyone was extremely friendly and not pushy. They answered all of my questions and at no time did I feel rushed. I highly recommend Olsen Orthodontics!

No better orthodontist!! The staff is amazing and so are the straight teeth they create!! All 6 of my children wouldn't think of going anywhere else. I even had to join in on the fun! Olsen Ortho forever!!

Definitely 5 stars! I took my son in for a consultation and right from the beginning they made us feel welcome and at ease. Hailey greeted us and also did a great job getting the tooth pictures needed, and helped my son feel comfortable during all of it. The whole environment is wonderful and geared to a good patient experience. When we met Dr Olsen he was very kind and great with my son. He explained everything very well and helped us understand why treatment was needed. We got started with a digital scan of his mouth and will have everything ready to start treatment in a week. Overall we were very impressed with the whole experience and would definitely recommend Olsen orthodontics to our friends and family.

Today, I finished my Invisalign treatment with dr Olsen. I am very satisfied with the results and cannot stop smiling in a mirror;). During the whole treatment, which was a little bit over a year, I enjoyed coming to Dr Olsen's office because there he has a very professional, helpful, always nice staff and beautiful office ! I highly recommend Dr Olsen if you want to change something about your smile to smile more.

My son doesn't have braces yet, but we have been going to Dr. Olsen for a while now to make sure he's on track and no concerns pop up. We want to get braces when he has all his permanent teeth in. After going to a few other orthodontists in the area, we settled on Dr. Olsen and his staff for so many reasons. I like Dr. Olsen's conservative approach. He is thorough in explaining things and answers all your questions. We've never felt rushed and he's always taken his time in answering our questions. In addition, the front desk staff is very friendly which hasn't always been our experience with a great dr. I highly recommend Dr. Olsen and his practice.

Dr. Olsen and his staff are so kind and amazing to work with. We have had three kids in braces with them and they've always taken such great care us. Our son's teeth were particularly complicated and Dr. Olsen made his smile incredible! Five+ stars all around.

Dr. Olsen and his team are always wonderful to work with. I had a home showing before my son's ortho appointment today and was running late. I texted to let them know and they were so understanding and professional. In the end, we weren't late after all, but the experience was still positive. Also, my son needs a new retainer and Dr. Olsen advised us how we can try to save us some money if we can find his mold. 5-stars!!
