Orthodontics is life altering! It not only straightens teeth but also changes faces as we work to achieve a balanced smile and facial aesthetics. I love when people come in who for years have smiled a closed-lip smile because they are embarrassed about their teeth, and leave smiling ear to ear because they are now so proud of their smile! It boosts their confidence and gives them the desire to smile, which brightens not only their day but those around them. What a wonderful opportunity to not only align your teeth, but also help you smile so you can share more of yourself with those around you, improving your quality of life, and that of those you know.
I really enjoy getting to know my patients and watching them transform, mature, and gain self-esteem as their smile improves. Im inherently a perfectionist and that bleeds into my work; I want my patients smiles to be perfect! I gain such joy and fulfillment when I take braces off and my patients walk out of the office so excited with their new smile!
Growing up, I always thought Id be a physician like my Dad and grandfather. However, while in college, I also found that I loved math, science, and physics and that I like working with my hands. Orthodontics was the perfect fit: the ideal mix of science, physics, and patient interaction.
I attended the University of California-Los Angeles for my Doctorate of Dental Surgery and was blessed to be accepted to the orthodontic program at the University of Washington, one of the best in the country.
As a board-certified orthodontist, I am committed to continuing my education in order to treat patients to the highest level of care with the newest advances available. I am active in my local study club and frequently attend Orange County Advanced Dental Seminars. I am also a member of several professional organizations that provide continuing education opportunities throughout the year:
I am passionate about making people around me smile, not just with their straight teeth but also smile about life. This desire to serve others started at an early age when I was in boy scouts with the motto, Do a Good Turn Daily. Further, the church which I attend has a lay ministry so members are constantly asked to volunteer their time and efforts to help the people of the community.
Lastly, Im passionate about my family. My wife Brooke and I were married halfway through dental school. She stuck it out through the last two years of dental school and another two-and-a-half years of orthodontic training before moving to San Clemente.
We now have six children: four boys and two girls. Everything I do is focused on making a good life for my familyspending time with each of my children and helping them enjoy life. Youll often find me with my children at their soccer practices, basketball practices, at the beach, at the park, at the pool, or wherever else we can find fun!
Our entire team enjoys working in the San Juan Capistrano and San Clemente communities, and we love to do a number of things to help you feel a part of our family. In fact, its not unusual for Dr. Olsen and our team to run into our patients while out and about.
Further, Dr. Olsen and our team make it a point to know our patients individually. In our office, you will never be just a number; we will strive to make you feel like you have become a part of our orthodontic family.

Read this review! My two sons have been going to Dr Olsen for the past year and his work has been excellent. More importantly, this week my son had his braces adjusted and he was experiencing pain from the wire irritating his gum to the point where eating was painful. My wife contacted his office the next morning and Dr Olsen personally called her back and DESPITE his office being closed for Memorial Day weekend...and Dr. Olsen came to our house after dropping his kids off at school at 8am and made the adjustment in our living room!!! My son felt immediate relief. As a practicing physician myself, this type of service and care has been long lost. You don't see doctors doing this anymore. I can not recommend Dr Olsen enough. His work is great and his dedication to serving is second to none.

It's with great pleasure to give a review of Dr Taylor Olsen Orthodontist and his Amazing staff. I am also Registered Dental Assistant. I met Dr Taylor Olsen at a " Lunch and Learn" course. As a result of the information he presented, I acted fast and made an appointment for my then 9 year old daughter. We have been with Dr Olsen and his highly skilled staff for 8 years. Dr Olsen and his staff are professional, personable and proficient. My daughter 's case is long because she needs jaw surgery in the future. Dr. Olsen has carefully treatment planned every step with the upmost patience and the best interest of my daughter's physical development and which also benefits our pocket book. I recently decided to be preventative and became a patient myself. In my 27 years in Dentistry, I know to well that as we age we start spending more time in the dental chair. I decided to get braces and I can't believe the results I am having and I am only half way through! From the beginning I was so surprised and happy that I didn't have to take traditional impressions. Dr Olsen and his staff have been wonderful towards our family through the years. We hold fond memories of the smell of homemade cookies in the office to beach parties in the summer. I highly recommend this office!They are trustworthy and truly care about their patients that become part of a dental family.

Dr. Olsen is by far the Best orthodontist! I've worked in dentistry for over 16 years and know the industry well. He has an amazing bedside manner, his staff members are so friendly and it's just a seamless experience every time. I wouldn't trust my kids with just anyone and I wouldn't even dream of taking them anywhere else!

I love Olsen Orthodontics. Dr Olsen is helping me fix an Invisalign screwup from a previous dentist with traditional braces. I had already been thru the ringer with my past experience and Dr Olsen helped me understand all of my options and what worked best for me. He has given me trust back in the world of teeth! I'm excited to be finished in a few months with a beautiful smile! I highly recommend him!
