Dr. Matthew Olmsted, a board-certified orthodontist, earned his DDS and Master of Science in orthodontics at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill School of Dentistry. Prior to that, he earned his BS degree at Duke University, where he majored in biological anthropology and anatomy and swam on the Varsity Mens Swimming and Diving Team. Dr. Matt is a Summerfield, NC, native, a graduate of Northwest Guilford High School, and at one time coached for Oak Ridge Orca Swim Team and Lake Jeanette Swim Team. As student body president of the UNC School of Dentistry, Dr. Matthew Olmsted earned his DDS degree with highest honors in 2008. His student research was awarded at the 2007 American Dental Association/Dentsply Student Clinician Research Program. After graduation from dental school, Dr. Olmsted continued his education for three more years at UNC, where he received his masters and certificate in orthodontics. He also was awarded the 2011 UNC-Chapel Hill Boka Hadzija Chancellor Award for Distinguished Service to the University of North Carolina. Recently, Dr. Olmsted earned Diplomate status with the American Board of Orthodontists, and one of his cases studies was highlighted at the 2013 American Association of Orthodontists meeting. Dr. Olmsted is a clinical assistant professor at the UNC School of Dentistry, current President-Elect of the North Carolina Association of Orthodontists, and has been a featured speaker at the 2014 Annual Session of the Southern Association of Orthodontists. Dr. Olmsted and his wife, Caline, enjoy being part of the the Triad Community.
Shelby graduated from the GTCC dental assisting program in 2017, and began working for Olmsted Orthodontics immediately afterwards. She loves working with such helpful and funny people who bring out the best in each other, and works hard to make sure that all of our patients are happy when they leave our office. For Shelby, our patients are always her first priority. Outside of the office you can find Shelby at the racetrack supporting her boyfriend, Brandon who races. On off weekends she enjoys spending time with family and reading.
Hailey has recently joined the Olmsted Ortho family. Hailey is married and has a cat named Frank and a dog named Copper. During her free time, Hailey travels to her lake house or spends time watching her nephews.
Kelsey is married with two children and one dog. When not at work she enjoys going to the beach with family, crafting & relaxing. Kelsey is very passionate about her patients and is very excited to be apart of the Olmsted Ortho family.
Hanna is super excited to be apart of the Olmsted Ortho family. When not at work, Hanna enjoys spending time with family and watching her boyfriend Rodeo on the weekends. Hanna has recently welcomed a new pony into her life named, Lucchese.
