Dr. Rasmussen is originally from Idaho, where he attended Boise State University for his undergraduate studies. He attended Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA, where he earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine in 2014.After dental school, Dr. Rasmussen and his wife relocated to Tucson, where he has been in private practice ever since.
Dr. Rasmussen values high quality and conservative dental care for the whole family. His passions in dentistry include: restorative (fillings, crowns, and bridges), cosmetics (whitening and veneers), pediatrics, sedation (dental anxiety) and orthodontics (Invisalign). He believes that dentistry can be comfortable for everyone and make a positive impact on their teeth and overall health. For his pediatric patients, he is passionate about providing pleasant dental experiences to create a lifetime of a healthy relationship with their dentist. He is currently studying for his Fellowship in Academy of General Dentistry, which is a distinguished award that only 6% of dentists in the country have accomplished. This award is granted to those who go above and beyond their continuing education requirements. Dr. Rasmussen places a high value on continuing education to stay up to date on the latest techniques and technologies to provide patients with the best care. He is also a proud member of the American Dental Association.
You will hear the Old Pueblo team referring to Dr. Rasmussen as Dr. Raz (please feel free to use this). He is married to his best friend and they have two amazing young children. Most of his extra time is spent playing with his kids, but you will also find him mountain biking, espresso making, working on his photography, gardening and taking road trips.
Professional dental care for kids is different than dental care for adults. Children have unique dental needs and face dental challenges distinct from grownups. Additionally, kids often require extra patience and care from their dentist. $880 for 5 cleanings ( 1 adult and 4 children) and 2 xrays(covered by insurance). I am supposed to pay a small copay.

Really appreciate everyone at Old Pueblo Dental. Very patient and kind. They work very closely with me to make sure my son feels heard, comforted but still getting him to understand the importance of check ups and professional cleaning. The doctor and his assistant use friendly words for a child to comprehend and then speak to me professionally but not over my head. I feel confident that my son is getting the best start to healthy teeth for the future.

Dentist is great with my 4 year old son that struggles with fear of the dentist, breaks thing down so he could understand and tried to help work through his fear. Talked with me at a professional level, in laymen's terms, overall good experience and staff trying to work with him through things

Dr. Eliason is friendly, careful and thorough - just great! Six months ago, he did a crown and fillings for me. Today, I was in for my 6-mo check-up and cleaning and everything is fine. Annette, my hygienist, is terrific, too. Everyone in the office is sweet and professional. And, it's a lovely, clean office. I'm thoroughly pleased!

All of the staff at Dr. Rasmussens office is wonderful - they are kind, put up with a million extra kid questions, and make the dentist a place where my kids Actually enjoy going! We love them and highly recommend anytime anyone asks.

Best dentist in Tucson! If your looking for good dental work this is the place to go. My boyfriend went to another dentist and they wanted to grind his teeth down to nubs to fix a chip in his front tooth. He immediately left and found Old Pueblo dental. This Dr does amazing work ! I went for a cleaning and couldn't be happier. Everyone is so friendly and they are good at what they do.

I love Old Pueblo Dental. The office staff are very personal and welcoming the moment you step through the door. Dr. Rasmussen was amazing in explaining everything that was happening for the procedure in an 8 year olds language all during the process. Definitely an experience that did not frighten or make my son anxious. The orange popsicle didn't hurt either.
