For the most part, Invisalign Teen works just like the traditional Invisalign treatment system. It involves a customized set of clear plastic aligners that straighten teeth and correct any bite misalignments. Of course, to be aimed at teens, there are a few ways that it differs from the traditional adult version. These include:
A teen who has all permanent teeth erupted and doesnt require severe or complex orthodontic care would be a good candidate for Invisalign Teen. Though, keep in mind that these aligners have to be worn for at least 22 hours per day in order to provide effective treatment and that means teens who choose this option will need to be committed to seeing the treatment through.
At Ohana Orthodontics, we are committed to offering the most advanced procedures to meet the needs of our patients. For many teenagers, that comes in the form of Invisalign Teen. With a gentle touch and a lot of compassion we understand how hard the teen years can be we were teens once, too. And feeling self-conscious or lacking confidence can be detrimental to a teens overall happiness and sense of self-worth. As much as they want a confident smile, many struggle with the idea of getting traditional metal braces. Thats why we do what we can to create that beautiful smile in a discreet manner.
Using state of the art technology, our office can comfortably create digital impressions of your teeth. These precision 3D images will then be used to create a customized series of clear aligners that are both comfortable to wear and virtually invisible. Wear your aligners as directed by your Invisalign provider to gently shift your teeth into position for a straighter smile!
While not every child needs early orthodontic treatment, this treatment can be necessary to be sure that permanent teeth erupt properly. Early orthodontic treatment can also reduce the possibility of issues like severely crowded teeth, improper jaw growth, and impacted eruption of teeth.
At around the age of 7, the first adult molars typically appear. Molars help define your back bite. An early visit to your orthodontist can allow your dental team to effectively and accurately evaluate your bite.
Early orthodontic treatment helps young children who still have some or even all of their primary teeth, to prevent improper growth and alignment for permanent teeth. Depending on the issue requiring treatment, there are many different orthodontic options available to prevent more serious dental issues when permanent teeth are fully in place.
