Dr. Langehans professional career started with an Undergraduate from Wofford College. In 1994, he earned his advanced degree-Doctorate of Dental Medicine-from The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). From there Dr. Langehans practiced in Florence, SC for 13 years. This is where he became an expert in surgical procedures including the extraction of teeth and the preparation of the ridges for removable prosthetics. It was in Florence that Dr. Langehans had the opportunity to hone his skill in the fabrication of removable dentures and partials.
Dr. Langehans is also an expert at oral surgery, allowing him to perform procedures in his office that most other dentists would have to refer to a specialist. Dr. Langehans uses state-of-the-art technology to ensure the best treatment for patients. With a solid foundation of education, several years of experience, and the desire to always improve, Dr. Langehans is a top-notch provider in the dental field.
Dr. Langehans brought his exceptional industry knowledge to the Lowcountry. After purchasing Off Island Dental eight years ago, he immediately began impressing patients in our Bluffton community. With a solid resume, wonderful bedside manner and colorful personality, Dr. Langehans is well loved by all of the patients. Dr. Langehans has been an active volunteer with the local Rotary and Volunteers In Medicine. In addition, he stays abreast of local events and global news. Dr. Langehans believes that our next generation is our best investment.
Dr. Langehans resides on Ladys Island in Beaufort, SC. He enjoys the scenic commute with Huck & Rosie, his beloved Boykin Spaniels. During these commutes he listens to talk radio, for the latest news. During leisure time, Dr. Langehans can be found fishing, hunting, traveling He will be celebrating his 50th birthday with a trip to Tajikistan. The most important part of his life are his children, three daughters and one son. They are the apple of his eye.

All the girls are very welcoming and can't do enough to make you feel comfortable. Dr. Langehans is wonderful, had a root canal done today absolutely pain free , and time management is incredible. Going to the dentist for me was always a fear, I'd make any excuse possible not to go. Dr. Langehans has made a negative an extreme positive, thank you

Dr L. is top notch, always compassionate and extremely good at what he does. The charges are very reasonable and they never recommend anything above and beyond what you need. The office staff are consistently friendly, very accommodating and always go out of their way to make you feel welcome. I can't recommend this office enough, especially if you are typically scared of the dentist. He's the best of the best and so is his staff.

My husband went to this dentist as it was the only one available to remove his wisdom tooth sooner then our preferred dentist. The dentist at this location was mad at his employees for screwing up his schedule and eventually was then rude to my husband as if it were his fault. He removed his tooth very aggressively and he is still very sore. Atmosphere there was awful for him too and he said he felt very uncomfortable due to the situation.

I left with the same tooth broke in the front ( he never fixed ) He told me when I went back next day he fix he will have to charge me again .First day was very thankful he fix my tooth ( in around 3 minutes . He never handle to me the mirror or he's bilingue assistant. Went I went outside my tooth still broke . They told me to went back . I couldn't understand how if he hace 2 people or more who speak my Same lenguaje and he didn't fix my tooth . Next day he fix it in few minutes . But I had I tooth longer . And I went after after he always was acting like I did something wrong . He's face was looking with lot of hate . I will recommend any one to go somewhere else this dentist doesn't care to do a good job .only is about money

First time being to the dentist in a while - needed a wisdom tooth extracted. The process didn't take more than 30 mins - I was made comfortable & didn't feel a thing during my extraction!!! Extremely satisfied with my visit today & highly recommend!!

I was traveling out of state with my family and cracked my tooth on day one. Dr. Langehans office was able to give me a quick appointment and he was able to extract the tooth with basically zero discomfort. The staff were polite, professional and accepted my insurance. Thanks

I would not recommend this place at all! Dr Michael D. Langehans was very rude and unpleasant! This was my second and last visit here. I got 2 tooth extracted and was told that he doesn't give a prescription for 2 teeth extractions, only for "10 to 18" teeth being pulled at one time! That's ridiculous. Then he proceeds to pre bill me something I haven't got done yet. If your looking for a great dentist I would not recommend him

My boyfriend broke his tooth and was in a lot of pain. They took us the same day. Did the exam and procedure all the same day. They were extremely kind and the inside is very cozy and inviting. I'm recommending them to everyone in the future!

I had a bad tooth that had me in so much pain I could not think. I called and asked if the dentist could see me today and described my symptoms. The desk had me come in within an hour and a half. The doctor seen me as soon as I got there. They made me comfortable and had the tooth out within 30 minutes. I recommend Off island dental care for the customer service and dental services.

Thought I had an issue with a tooth or my gums and called by 9 am and was instructed 10:15 for an appointment. The staff as usual was warm and welcoming and totally amazing. Doc as always is super professional and fun to chat with and very knowledgeable. I would always recommend Off Island Dental to anyone that needs a dentist. Keep up the amazing work!
