Dr. Pham wanted to build a practice that would be truly exceptional. She selected four associate dentists that would help her provide most of the dental services you or your family could need. Each doctor focuses on different aspects of dentistry.
We have equipped the office with many of the latest advances in technology to provide accurate, efficient and comfortable dentistry. We use digital X-rays, digital panoramic X-rays, and intraoral cameras to be able to get detailed views of your mouth, gums and teeth. This makes for more accurate diagnosis and treatment. Our soft-tissue laser makes many of our treatments more gentle, less invasive and more efficient.
Our staff knows that their number one priority is to make you feel comfortable. Youll get a warm greeting and an offer of a beverage. We have movies in every room or a choice of an iPad or music headphones, and blankets and pillows to make you comfortable.
Our doctors are very good at helping relax. They will help you feel comfortable with your treatment and reassure you if you feel anxious. They make sure your treatment is gentle and as pain-free as possible.
For additional comfort, we use the DentalVibe comfort injection system to administer pain-free injections. The DentalVibe uses a vibrating tip to gently numb the area where the injection will take place.
While our quality is high, we keep our fees at a reasonable level. We accept most insurance and work with you to maximize your benefits. We give discounts to cash-paying patients. We take credit cards and provide low-interest financing through two finance providers.
Dr. Krystal Pham is the owner of Oceanic Dental. In 2010 she and her husband, Victor Pham, who assists the practice as Office Manager, decided to open Oceanic Dental in Huntington Beach to be where their family and community are.
Dr. Krystal Pham was born into a household of healthcare providers. Her father is a physician and her mother and sister are both dentists. Growing up, she spent many happy hours in her mothers dental office and began assisting her when she was 13. She always loved dentistry, and watching her mother transform patients lives by giving them beautiful, healthy smiles just deepened that love.
I love helping people, says Dr. Pham. As a dentist, I can get my patients out of pain, educate them about maintaining good oral health, and most importantly, transform their smiles and improve their confidence and quality of life.
Dr. Krystal Pham graduated with Honors from the University of California, San Francisco, one of the best dental schools in the country. She was awarded membership in Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the National Dental Honor Society, for having graduated top of her class.
Her emphasis on patient comfort and advanced training in different areas of dentistry, from restorative and cosmetic to surgical implants, enable her to provide patients with the best quality of care in the field.
Dr. Pham enjoys traveling and photography. She loves living in Huntington Beach and enjoys the Southern California warm weather and the friendly people. She particularly likes strolling on the beach, breathing in the fresh air and listening to the waves.
Dr. Duong will create a personalized treatment plan to meet your needs and concerns. You can expect the best dental care and services using state-of-the-art equipment to obtain a beautiful smile with healthy teeth and gums. Dr. Duong will make your dental experience as comfortable as possible.
Dr. Young, still known by some of her patients as her maiden name Dr. Hutson, has been with the Oceanic Dental team since 2016. Prior to Oceanic Dental, Dr. Young worked in private practice in Long Beach, California.
Dr. Young received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco, California.After graduating, Dr. Young completed a one-year general practice residency at the Sepulveda Ambulatory Care unit of the U.S. Dept. Of Veterans Affairs facility in North Hills, Calif.Dr. Youngs wide dental experience includes general dentistry, endodontics, oral surgery, periodontics, and prosthodontics.
Dr. Young has been an active volunteer in many dental-related initiatives, including the 1000 Smiles Dental Project in which she traveled to Jamaica to provide free oral surgery and restorative dentistry in rural communities.
Dr. Amero was born and raised in Orange County. He attended the University of California, San Diego where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Physiology and Neuroscience and with a minor in Economics. He received his Doctor of Dentistry degree from the University of California, San Francisco in 2002.
When he is not at work, he enjoys being active whether it is in the form of running, playing softball, or working out. However, he considers his most valued moments to be the ones spent with his friends and family. More importantly, Dr. Amero truly views dentistry as a passion, not just a profession.
Oceanic Dental is proud to have Dr. Nour as our in-house Diplomate-American Board certified Endodontist (Root Canal Doctor). Since started practicing dentistry in 2006 and joining our team in July 2011, Dr. Nour has treated a lot of root canal cases, some of which are highly complicated and compromised. It is our great pleasure to say that his success rate is phenomenal and patient feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. While some people fear the root canal procedure more than death, we very frequently have patients snoring (sometimes a little loud) while in the chair being treated by Dr. Nour!
Dr. Bonin has over 30 years experience in all areas of dentistry. For the last 10 years he has focused on surgery and full-mouth reconstruction. Patients of Dr. Bonin will get skilled and experienced implant dentistry, bone grafting, wisdom teeth extraction and other surgeries, as well as sedation if very anxious.
Originally from Cajun country in southwest Louisiana, Dr. Bonin majored in French at LSU then went on to New Orleans to attend dental school. He practiced in Northern California for twenty years and relocated to Southern California to join the team at Oceanic Dental and to enjoy the sunny weather and SoCal lifestyle.
In practice since 1997, Dr. Hoangs specialty focuses on the treatment of Gum Diseases andprovides Implant Therapy. She obtained her doctors degree (D.M.D.) at Tuft University in Boston and completed her specialty training in Periodontics at the prestigious Columbia University in New York where she also received her Master in Oral Biology. She was also a clinical instructorfor six years at Columbia University and had served on the schools Admission Committee.
Her philosophy is to provide patients with gentle and comprehensive care that will promote and maintain a healthy dentition. Her primary goal is to give her patients the highest quality care and the most costeffective treatment plan that tailor to each patients needs for a long-term prognosis.

Digital X-rays provide many advantages for both the patient and the dentist. Office visits are shorter, digital X-rays use 80% less radiation than film X-rays and the high quality images help us detect very small cavities.
The X-rays may be reviewed immediately on a computer monitor and allow us to show our patients any problematic areas, helping them understand any problem areas that require attention. Since digital X-rays dont require chemicals as film X-rays do, they are also much easier on the environment.
Intraoral cameras are tiny handheld video cameras that project an enlarged image of the inside of your mouth onto a computer screen. This allows our patients to see what we see. We use the intraoral camera as an exam, treatment planning and educational tool for our patients.
Panoramic X-rays capture detailed, panoramic views of your mouth. This provides us with a detailed, high-quality image of the entire mouth that allows us to view parts of your jaw that cant be seen with traditional dental X-rays. Panoramic X-rays are often used to evaluate jaw joint problems and plan orthodontic treatment, dentures and implants.
The Picasso laser is a soft-tissue diode laser that delivers very short pulses of laser energy. The result is a more comfortable dental procedure for our patients. In our practice, we use diode lasers to assist in killing bacteria and stimulating healthy gum growth and regeneration of healthy tissue. We also use the diode laser to perform gum line recontouring, and to eliminate decay under the gum line. With dental lasers, procedures are faster, there is less swelling, healing time decreases and there is no lasting discomfort after the procedure is completed.
The CAESY patient education system makes it easy to explain complicated dental procedures. With detailed, animated videos, you can learn exactly what is involved with your chosen procedures. We believe that education is key in the overall success of dental treatments.
Our doctors use electric handpieces to make routine dental procedures a more comfortable and relaxing experience. Electric handpieces offer increased efficiency and thoroughness, resulting in shorter procedures which means less time in the dental chair.
Our hygienists use ultrasonic scalers to gently remove hardened plaque and heavy stains from the surface of your teeth. As the ultrasonic scaler vibrates, it produces sound waves that painlessly break apart stubborn calculus, which is then rinsed away.
With ClinCheck, Dr. Pham can create a custom 3Dtreatment planfor your Invisalign straightening program. Dr. Pham uses this softwareto design your custom aligners sequence and check that they are the optimum movements all before treatment even begins.
Zoom teeth whitening is a powerful teeth whitening system that quickly and safely brightensyour teeth in just one visit to our office. The Zoom laser speeds up the whitening process and produces amazing results that you can see instantly.

Updating this: Had to get an emergency root canal less than 6 months after a filling they did. The dentist told me if I was still experiencing pain to come back so they could do a root canal. I still had some pain and the filling they gave me caused the root canal I just got. They also told me I had 14 cavities and after a 2nd and 3rd opinion I only had 6. Customer service was fine but it was very obvious they were only focused on making a profit and not quality care.

I had an amazing experience at Oceanic Dental. All of the staff were very welcoming and friendly. My dental hygienist explained every procedure and eased my usual worries. I especially enjoyed how Dr. Vu addressed my concerns and took the time to ask about my goals surrounding dental health. I will definitely be back!

Since I've joined Oceanic Dental back in 2010, I have felt super satisfied and happy with my visits. I recently had veneers done by Dr.Pham and it has boosted my self esteem and confidence. Dr.Pham was very gentle and patient with the process, as I was feeling apprehensive about the big procedure. She made me feel at ease the entire procedure and constantly checked in to see how I was doing. I also needed an emergency root canal 2 days before my vacation, and Dr. Vu was able to come in last minute to perform the procedure. Additionally, I always leave content thanks to the kind and careful hygienists. Thank you to the staff at the front desk as well for always following up with me on my upcoming appointments and reminding me of future appointments I have as well.

I wanted to write a detailed review of my initial and second visits to Oceanic Dental, Fountain Valley. When I walked in, I felt welcomed by the front office staff. The waiting room was very nice with many chairs, sofa, and a lot of reading material. The beverage counter stocked many drinks, including protein shakes, hawaiian coffees/teas, and filtered water. The Xray machine looked state of the art. My hygienist, Brandy was very gentle with the cleaning and had a very steady hand. I had Dr.Katie Young my initial visit. She was professional, personable, and skilled. On my second visit I got treatment with filler for my cavity. I was able to watch my favorite Netflix show during the treatment. This time I had Dr. Krystal Pham. She has a very kind, caring, gentle, friendly demeanor. She seemed to care a lot about minimizing my pain for my cavity. She numbed me up very well with both topical and then injected numbing. She was very gentle throughout, had a very gentle steady hand with the instrument, and she always made sure to minimize any pain. She even showed me the dark area/decay in my cavity real time while she was drilling using a camera device. At the end, I was amazed that I didn't feel any pain at all. It might have been the first time it ever happened to me. Thank you Dr. Pham. Due to my busy work schedule, the staff, Sara/Sam have been extremely flexible to work with me on scheduling appointments. They even have scheduling thru text, so you don't have to call in during business hours. I've already recommended Oceanic Dental to a couple of my closest friends.

I chose Oceanic Dental because it is close to home. I was happy to find it a bright, welcoming, and clean environment with friendly staff from front office to treatment room. Everyone did their utmost to make me comfortable. My check-up with Dr. Pham and her assistant were all painless. She quickly identified a problem which has been bothering me for years. They used a camera to photograph my teeth, so I could see them. Other equipment seemed modern and up-to-date in comparison to some past dentists I used. When I returned to have more work done, I was greeted by name and brought in without waiting. Such a delightful experience. I would definitely recommend this dental practice to others.

The staff was very kind and and sufficient. My hygienist, Tara was very good. She was friendly, caring and did an excellent job. Dr.Pham was great. She took the time to explain and make sure I know what I needed to do. Not exactly the news I wanted, but the truth! It was not my first time visiting a clinic but this was the first time I felt that I understood what (and why) I needed for my teeth! Best dentist and office!

You can immediately tell this is a well-run dental office the moment you step in. OD staff is very efficient and nice. They are genuinely happy to see you and appreciate your business. Dr. Pham is kind, knowledgeable, and thoughtful. I was slightly surprised when I hear the cost but once she walked me through the details of her treatment plan including the preventative suggestions that would help me avoid bigger issues in the long run, I'm totally onboard. I'm grateful to have learned so much about dental care from her. Thank you Dr.Pham and OD team.

Although for the most part I live out of state, I still refuse to go anywhere else, so I now ensure I schedule my appointment while back in town as no other dentistry will do. Just amazing service, as well as just positive vibes. Strongly recommend.

From my first step inside their immaculate, well designed lobby, to the efficient, soothing procedure, my visit was by far above ANY other dental visit I've ever had. Everything was done to make me feel comfortable, including Telescopic TV mount loaded with all of the streaming services, a self service juice and coffee bar with snacks, and the friendliest staff I have every encountered. I only came in for a check up, but now I can't wait to get back and get some procedures done that I've been too nervous about doing in the past. They say the best patient care comes with an incredible staff and trustworthy doctors. That's exactly what Oceanic Dental has provided me for the past few years. They've turned an optimistic patient who has visited numerous dental offices to a long-term, loyal customer who has even referred many friends and family members to their location. During the pandemic, they've taken extra precautions to ensure everyone is safe. Oceanic's staff members continue to bring positive experiences from their easy-to-schedule appointments via phone (yes, they pick up the phone AND if they don't, they actually call back!) to being able to effectively communicate details on any of their services and pricing. In addition, the experience is made prestige because they take the time to remember your name and things about you. A huge shout out to Sara, Katherine, Sam, and Victor for their continued warmth and hospitality in-person and over the phone. Don't even get me started on the office manager Rebekah. I met her back when I first came to Oceanic Dental and still today, she's the friendliest, most caring person I've met who really brings the positive fun energy to the place. Thank you for putting a smile on my face, even when you can't see it with a mask on! One of the things I've done in addition to my cleaning visits with their detail-oriented hygienists was investing in Invisiline. Dr. Pham is the only dentist I've met that has been able to make the impossible, possible. She's taken the time to discuss with me every complaint I had about straightening my teeth and has provided detailed explanations on the importance of fixing overlooked dental care / structures that many other doctors dismissed. A shout out to Sara and Desi who helped Dr. Pham during my recent Invisiline follow up! I always feel I'm in great hands at this place regardless of who is assisting Dr. Pham or just in general for a cleaning. Very fortunate to have found this place and without hesitation would recommend them to anyone!

I never thought I'd say this but I really enjoy going to my dentist appointments at Oceanic Dental. My dentist appointments before finding Oceanic Dental gave me anxiety and always left feeling like I could never do enough to improve my oral health. It's been a little over a year since I decided to switch to Oceanic Dental. I've been seeing Dr. Tanya and she's amazing! She's very gentle, sweet and knowledgeable. The dental hygienist/assistants are very pleasant and informative. The sweet ladies at the reception desk are so nice and always greet me with a smile and a warmed welcome. Thank you for making me feel comfortable and at ease when it comes to my oral health. I know I'm in good hands here.
