Dr. Robert J. Berman is originally from Fair Lawn, NJ where he graduated from Fair Lawn Senior High School. After earning a degree in Biologic Science from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ, he earned his dental degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University School of Dentistry.
Dr. Naqvi is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia. After dental school, Dr. Naqvi went on to advance her training at Hackensack University Medical Center, where she enhanced her skills in all phases of dentistry, including endodontics, surgical extractions, implant dentistry, and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Naqvi promotes a safe and relaxing dental environment for all her patients through open communication and the latest technologies. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the New Jersey Dental Association.
Stephanie received her degree in Dental Hygiene in 2016 from Middlesex County College, graduating with high honors. She is a strong advocate for providing home care education to help patients understand the benefits that come with proper care. She thoroughly enjoys what she does, and with her wonderful personality, clinical skills and attention to detail, she is a true asset to our team.
Michelle graduated with honors from Rowan at Burlington County College in 2014. She was awarded the prestigious Hu-Friedy golden scaler award for achieving the highest clinical grade in her graduating class. Michelle was a Dental Assistant for 15 years before deciding to further her education and become a Dental Hygienist. She is knowledgeable in all aspects of dentistry and strives to educate her patients on how to obtain and maintain a healthy smile. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, surfing and gardening.

From the time I entered the building I was greeted with a smile. The hygienist was amazing and very patient with me. Especially, since I have a fear and major anxiety of dentists. Update: Today I went back for my extraction. I was beyond nervous again. I was greeted with a smile by the dental assistant who was training a new associate. She talked me through everything and reassured me all would be well. Dr Strouse came in with a great mood and chatted with me while numbing me up.. My nerves were starting to calm down. During the whole process these 2 worked well and fast together. I'm all about the energy in a room and it was positive. I will definitely recommend this practice and this Doctor.

I experienced throbbing lower back gum pain. This office welcomed me on a Saturday on an emergency basis, gave me a thorough exam and several referrals for an endodontist. I was beyond thankful to be seen by Dr Naqvi and highly recommend this dentist and practice.

Not a good spot, front desk and answering lady was very unprofessional. Take your business elsewhere! Editing my review to add more stars : The admin appointment scheduler was SO rude to me and unprofessional Hassled me about not answering to confirm my calls when I've been working all week. I acknowledged it but then she kept harping about it , which felt like she was complaining to me about it. Very unprofessional, hire new front desk staff however, poor admin shouldn't reflect business as a whole , seems like a great office . Dr strouse is kind!

Having searched for a new dentist closer to my area, I was hoping Dr. Strouse and his team would provide me the service and care I was searching for. Unfortunately this would not be the case. After meeting with Dr. Strouse for an initial consultation, I made an appointment with Dr. Strouse for Jan. 19th to deal with a two year old filling that was causing some minor gum irritation. Upon arriving I was met by Dr. Naqvi instead. After an x-ray was done, I was told the filling would have to be removed and a new filling completed so I went forward with that procedure and was told the healing time could be up to 4-6 weeks. Well, I had to return on March 4th (just over 6 weeks later) because I was having continued pain in the previously filled tooth when I would chew on that side of the mouth. I specifically asked for Dr. Strouse as I had lost confidence in Dr. Naqvi's ability given the problem I was experiencing. Upon arriving I saw Dr. Strouse in his office but when I went into the exam room I was met by Dr. Naqvi. After inspecting the tooth she did a bite correction and told me the pain I was experiencing was normal, could take an additional 8-12 weeks to settle but also gave me a referral for a possible root canal to be done on that tooth. Now, after almost 3-1/2 months (14 weeks) since Dr. Naqvi did the initial filling procedure I am facing either a root canal procedure or an extraction of the tooth. This is not the type of dental service a person should expect over what should have been a simple procedure that any dentist could perform without issue. Furthermore, to be passed off to another dentist when a patient specifically requests the lead dentist (Dr. Strouse) is rather unprofessional. Needless to say I have left this practice to one where a higher level of service and respect can be expected.

I spent a decade here in Brick going to a large practice where I felt like a number. No more! My first visit with Ocean Smiles was today and I left SMILING! Great experience with the appointment process, cleaning, and Dr. Strouse. I was able to get an appointment quickly. My hygienist was friendly, had a gentle touch, and offered good advise for a problem I mentioned. Dr. Strouse was excellent. So glad I decided to make this switch!

Dr Strouse and Ocean Smiles are great. Very professional and just a pleasure to be there. I usually hate going to the dentist. But they make it very easy for my family and my self. Definitely will recommend.

My family of 4 just had a great first experience! The entire staff was professional and friendly! The Hygienists were amazing with my little ones and we all left with big smiles. Dr. Strouse is gentle, informative, and we felt very comfortable. Definitely found our family dental office!! Highly recommend for family & cosmetic dentistry!
