Dr. McDonald has been taking care of the Vero Beach community for more than 30 years, and he says the best thing about his job is seeing patients become excited about their new teeth. Its always great to hear them laugh and talk about eating foods they havent been able to for years. Its also fun to find out that they no longer hesitate to smile for family photos. He hopes to meet you soon, but first, you can learn a little more about Dr. McDonald below.

Growing up, Dr. McDonald says he had the worlds coolest dentist who inspired him when he was 13. In addition to being a doctor, he was also a helicopter pilot, snow skier, and his whole job and lifestyle sounded like a lot of fun, so Dr. McDonald was more than eager to follow in his footsteps. Dr. McDonald followed a similar path and learned to pilot an airplane, became an avid skier while living in West Texas, raced motocross and other motorbikes and now enjoys playing the guitar, woodworking and metalworking. In fact, he built his own barbecue grill with a smoker box to make some of the most mouthwatering ribs around.

Dr. McDonald attended undergraduate school at the University of Houston and later graduated from dental school at the University of Texas in San Antonio in 1984. After practicing in Texas for five years, he moved to Vero Beach and joined Ocean Oaks Dental Group in 1989.

Dr. McDonald has spent several years lecturing on the latest technologies in digital dentistry. He is a past president of his local and district Dental Associations and also worked on the planning committee for the Florida Dental Associations annual convention. He is a fellow in the International College of Dentists and is also a member of the American Dental Association.

Dr. McDonalds family consists of two amazing kids, his beloved wife, and a very fluffy but dangerous cat. Just like his childhood dentist, Dr. McDonald likes to go on adventures. He is a pilot and began flying part-time for a skydiving center in Sebastian, FL in 1991, where he met his wife. Together, the McDonalds enjoy traveling, boating, fishing, scuba diving, and spend much of their free time cruising around the Bahamas, Ireland, England and Scotland.

Dr. Lombardo was born in New York, but she considers herself a Floridian. She grew up in Jupiter, Florida with her family and played club lacrosse and volleyball in high school. Today, she is happy to call Vero Beach her home and loves serving the community by helping people protect and improve their smiles. Dr. Lombardo has always loved the arts. In high school and college, she took various art classes where she was able to pursue and grow her passion. Growing up, she spent a lot of her summers in her fathers plastic surgery office working with patients and shadowing him on surgeries. She knew she wanted a career that merged both medicine and art, and dentistry was able to fulfill her dream. Now, she is able to help people while expressing her artistic side designing and developing her patients smiles.

Dr. Lombardo earned her bachelors degree at Emory University in Atlanta and later moved to Boston, where she researched bone regeneration techniques at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Lombardo graduated cum laude from the University of Florida College of Dentistry and went on to complete her Advanced Education in General Dentistry through the University of Florida in St. Petersburg, specializing in implant dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and advanced prosthodontics.

Since leaving school, she has taken several hours of continuing education, studying full mouth rehabilitation at The Dawson Academy and with Drs. Strupp and Brumm. She has completed the entire curriculum of Implant Educators, an implantology continuum focused on guided implant surgery. She is also an active member of the Seattle Study Club, where she continues to learn from dental colleagues/specialists here along the Treasure Coast. She is currently a member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and the Treasure Coast Dental Society.

Dr. Lombardo lives in Vero Beach with her fianc, and they enjoy spending time outdoors with family and friends. She loves scuba diving (she has been certified since she was 10 years old), boating, fishing, hiking, and traveling to experience different cultures and cuisines.
