Dr. Steven Kim received his bachelors degree and DDS degree from the Dugoni School of Dentistry at the University of the Pacific, one of the most highly respected dental schools in the world. Dr. Kim prides himself on assuring each patient receives the best overall personalized care. Dr. Kim strives to educate his patients regarding necessary procedures and highlight any alternative, giving each patient the ability to make informed decisions about their long-range plans for optimal dental health.
Dr Kim is a third generation dentist who takes great responsibility in making sure the tradition of providing optimal and gentle care is continued. To that end, Dr. Kim constantly attends lectures and programs to further educate himself on the emerging techniques and newest materials in dentistry. He believes in using the highest quality materials to ensure longevity, strength and most importantly, bio compatibility. Metal-free dentistry and bio-friendly dentistry are a big part of Ocean Heights Dental practice philosophy.
Dr. Kim was raised in sunny Southern California where he played junior tennis and French horn in the Orange County Junior Youth Symphony. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Kims other interests include spending lots of time with his wife of 5 years. The Kim family loves to hike, explore the sights, sounds and tastes of Southern California. Dr. Kim isa lifelong CaliforniaAngels fan whose favorite all time Angels are Rod Carew and Brian Downing.Also an avid golfer, Dr. Kim welcomes all challenges from patients!
Dr. Kim is affiliated with the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and the Harbor Dental Society and is currently working towards his Associate fellowship in the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.

That's why we go above and beyond for you, exceeding the American Dental Association (ADA) and OSHA recommended standards for a clean and safe practice. We have a dedicated area with state-of-the-art sterilization technology, where every instrument is wrapped and disinfected before your visit. We also sanitize each room between patients and perform weekly spore testing with a third party infection control center. We worry about the cleanliness of our office so you'll never have to!
We are fully trained, skilled, and certified to provide you with the expertise you are looking for. Our team fulfills their responsibility to continuing education, attending dental conventions, seminars, and lectures to stay up-to-date on the latest products and procedures. Dr. Kim & the entire staff at Ocean Heights Dental are phenomenal! I had great fear of the dentist from previous experiences, but all is gone after finding them. I actually passed out in the chair after receiving numbing injections (so embarrassing) and was treated with nothing but care & kindness. No more dentist related anxiety for me! Thanks Ocean Heights Dental!!

DR KIM STOPS YOUR DENTIST FEAR ...and I didnt think that would ever be possible. He has a way of talking to you, respecting you and making you laugh. No dentist has cared for me like him. I was terrified due to very traumatizing past experiences but he makes me look forward to getting stuff donehe does everything he can to minimize pain as much as possible...and it works! If your on the fence about a dentisit & your reading this, I promise you wont regret giving him a try. He was highly recommended by SEVERAL people I knew, and now I simply cant leave him

I had Dr. Kim replace a crown that was about seven years old, never a great fit. The whole experience was great, even my temporary crown was amazing compared to the one being replaced. I have to admit I was a little nervous thinking it could not better with the permanent crown. I was blown away, it was an even better fit and bite. Highly recommend Dr Kim and his staff!

If you are anything like me you probably don't like to go to the dentist, but Ocean Heights Dental is exceptional. Dr. Kim and staff are very friendly and extremely patient. When Dr. Kim was working on my teeth he was very gentle and it didn't hurt a bit. I would highly recommend Ocean Heights Dental for all your general dentistry needs, and if you are looking to get Invisalign his office offers it as well!!!!!

I have a pretty big fear of dentists. I have literally cried at a dentist before (When I was 19 no less...) so when my GF told me to try Dr. Kim I walked in with trepidation. The first visit was very comforting with all the staff. I need my wisdom tooth pulled coupled with fillings and everyone was very accommodating. Dr. Kim demeanor was down to earth. His friendly and affable nature instantly put me at ease. He's upfront and there to help you within his abilities (which are superb). Overall, I really recommend this place.

Dr. Kim is fantastic! No other words to describe him and his staff. I am traditionally not a fan of dentists - me and drills in my mouth don't get along. Dr. Kim puts me at ease with his easy going demeanor and most importantly he explains to me what he will be doing and why. Dr. Kim is conservative in his approach and I really appreciate that versus other dentists that have been much more aggressive in their approach. If you need a dentist or a second opinion go visit Dr. Kim. I've been seeing Dr. Kim for the last 8 years and can vouch strongly for the quality of the work.

Dr. Kim and his staff make the whole dentist experience one of a kind. For the first time in my life, I don't mind going to the dentist. In fact, I now make it a regular priority to get cleanings every 6 months. Dr. Kim is very trustworthy and I will be a patient for as long as he is practicing dentistry. Great dentist and amazing staff. One of the best cleanings I have ever had; will definitely keep coming back. Office is very clean, easy to find, and plenty of parking. Highly recommend, have been to many dentists throughout LA and this is definitely the best experience I have had so far.

Going to the dentist has always been something I hate, but ever since going to Ocean Heights, Dr. Kim has completely changed my mind. I've been going to Ocean Heights Dental for the past few years, and I couldn't be happier. Although I don't live close to Long Beach, every time i need dental care, I will only go see Dr. Kim. Dr. Kim and staff are very professional and friendly. They always make sure to help me understand everything they are doing and what is needed every visit. I've never had any problem with my teeth after a visit, and am very happy with the work done. I highly recommend Ocean Heights!!
