After graduating with his D.D.S. from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1998, Dr. Chad Hoecker opened his fee for service practice in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Shortly following the start of his practice, he recognized there was an unmet need for dental care for low-income families. Further research supported this conclusion; such as the Surgeon Generals report on Oral Health in America, which indicates children from low-income families suffer twice as many cavities as their more affluent peers, and their disease is more likely to go untreated. This knowledge and his desire to help led him to open his traditional practice to Medicaid.

The initial response to Medicaid acceptance was overwhelming and far-reaching. Fee-for-service clinics accepting Medicaid are often limited by the extensive financial and scheduling complications presented when processing Medicaid patients. Because the Ocean Dental system is built on a Medicaid model, our clinics are able to provide high quality dental care to the most underserved socioeconomic group in the country.

Part of what makes Ocean Dental unique is not the work done, but how it is done, states Ocean Dental Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Chad Hoecker, D.D.S. Every clinic is designed to create a unique experience for the patients. Each new facilitys interior reflects an ocean theme from front to back, using vibrant colors and tropical decorations, said Dr. Hoecker. To add to the experience, televisions are above each chair to keep patients entertained during treatment. The professional staff is well-versed in dealing with children and adults. Altogether, it helps to create a positive, memorable and fun experience for patients and their families.

Horrible experience. All the equipment was dirty and outdated. It took them over a hour just to do a X-ray. Before I got there my teeth weren't hurting and after I left my tooth was hurting from the doctor poking at it. He was pressing on my tooth so hard with what ever he was using slipped off and stabbed my gum I left with my back hurting from sitting there so long and a bloody gums. Worst place I have ever been.

i would give them no stars if that were possible. if you are on medication dont bother going here they dont even look at it. no matter how much you tell them that the ibuprofen they perscribed you cant take because of other medications they will NOT listen to you. pulled my teeth and now i just have to deal with the vomit inducing headaches and pain in my jaw because i dont want to die.

My daughter has gone here for 2 years now and I will NEVER recommend this clinic to anyone. They took xrays of her teeth and said she had ONE issue which then they sent us to a clinic where she could be put under. Well when we get to the clinic that she is being put under for dental work.. they tell me she has 4 other cavities, HOW DO YOU MISS THOSE?! I'm a very angry, disappointed parent & WILL be finding a new dental clinic that does not miss these OBVIOUS things.

This is the worst dental office!! They cancelled on us last month and then when my son cried, they cancel our appointment again all because we cannot sedate him and they didn't even try to calm him down. Never again.

Just had the worst experience with this place. This place started a root canal on my 13 year old daughter and didn't finish it. Fast forward a few weeks, it gets infected, they give me antibiotics for her. The antibiotics don't work, I end up in the ER with her on a Sunday. Monday morning I call and get her in to see the dentist and he gives 2 more antibiotics. I explain we have to get on a plane to Reno for my husband, her father's service on Thursday the 14th. He tells me they will get her in to get it done before the 14th. Now it's the 11th and I call to see if they are getting her in to fix what they started before I take her on a plane and the lady on the phone tells me she has a appt on the 21st and there is nothing sooner. Horrible way to treat your patients. I'll find a new dentist to finish what you started.

The front desk people were polite and professional but the Dental Assistant was very rude and unprofessional and had a horrible bedside manner so much so made my daughter cry. Won't EVER be back!

I went there to get my teeth cleaned but I was put as an emergency tooth situation. I was there for 8 hours straight and they ended up saying they couldn't do it at the end. :/ So thanks for nothing much appreciated.

I had a very terrible experience with the front desk. I switched shifts at work to make my appointment work the best I could. I work on the other side of Shawnee, and my job allowed to leave at my appointment time, so I knew I was going to be late. I did not have a working phone at the time, and could not call or respond to any of their notifications before appointment day. The waiting room was EMPTY when I arrived. The lady who works the front desk was extremely rude and denied my appointment, read off the reasons why I could not get my needs taken care of or use their services that day, with a smirk on her face. The way she treated me, was not okay!! I can't imagine how many others she encounters each day. I will never step foot in this place again. I also talked to her on the phone and she tried to argue with me there. She is very unprofessional and has a strong lack of compassion for the public. All I could do is walk out, and pray for this woman. God bless her. Very disappointed.

So far I am not impressed with this place. I made a new patient appointment a month ago and was told I'd get 2 texts within 45 minutes of hanging up. 1 to confirm and 1 to fill out paperwork. Those texts never came that day, so the next business day I called and left a message about it. The next day, I got the texts and they left a voicemail saying to call them. I figured they were just checking to see if I got the texts and never got around to calling back. The following week they called again and left 3 minutes of hold music on my voicemail, so I still didn't call back. Yesterday I got a text reminder that my appointment was coming up today. I get there 15 minutes early and tug on the doors, but they were locked. I checked for another entrance and that was the only one. A lady popped out and said "we're closed today" and I told her I have an appointment. She went inside and came back a minute later letting me in. She said I wasn't on the list and I showed her the texts. She went back and said oh there it is at the bottom. Then she and another lady proceeded to tell me that the doctors had scheduled this day off 2 weeks ago which means they did this 2 weeks after I set my appointment. They said they tried to call and reschedule all the patients but I don't feel they tried hard enough. Had they left a message saying call us so we can reschedule your appointment, I would have called back. Now I have to get up early Monday and go back. I guess 1 labor day wasn't enough for them this year.

My kids enjoyed themselves and had no problems going back on their own. The only issue was they forgot my second kid so we had a wait of about an hour after my first kid was done.
