After graduating with his D.D.S. from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1998, Dr. Chad Hoecker opened his fee for service practice in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Shortly following the start of his practice, he recognized there was an unmet need for dental care for low-income families. Further research supported this conclusion; such as the Surgeon Generals report on Oral Health in America, which indicates children from low-income families suffer twice as many cavities as their more affluent peers, and their disease is more likely to go untreated. This knowledge and his desire to help led him to open his traditional practice to Medicaid.
The initial response to Medicaid acceptance was overwhelming and far-reaching. Fee-for-service clinics accepting Medicaid are often limited by the extensive financial and scheduling complications presented when processing Medicaid patients. Because the Ocean Dental system is built on a Medicaid model, our clinics are able to provide high quality dental care to the most underserved socioeconomic group in the country.
Part of what makes Ocean Dental unique is not the work done, but how it is done, states Ocean Dental Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Chad Hoecker, D.D.S. Every clinic is designed to create a unique experience for the patients. Each new facilitys interior reflects an ocean theme from front to back, using vibrant colors and tropical decorations, said Dr. Hoecker. To add to the experience, televisions are above each chair to keep patients entertained during treatment. The professional staff is well-versed in dealing with children and adults. Altogether, it helps to create a positive, memorable and fun experience for patients and their families.

I like it there at Ocean dental and yesterday was my first appointment and I wasn't scared at all they made me fill welcomed and they sat there and told me what they were doing and gave me a plan on what they were doing so I didn't fill scared I will go to them from now on

Went to my appointment wry uncomfortable in the fear of needles. Had to get 2 teeth extracted. Well to make a long story short. The best dentist Ive seen in a long time. They people there made me feel so comfortable. Didn't feel a thing. This is my new dentist office. Well done.

Absolutely terrible service especially with my insurance. They did the bare minimum and even did a bad job on my fillings. The practically glued my two teeth together when they did my fillings. They even left one untreated. Even after me explaining I had pain on a messed up tooth, they proceeded to go harder on the specific tooth than they did the others. 10/10 do not recommend their service

My first appointment, we arrived after our 45 minute drive to discover they had not verified our insurance (the appointment was scheduled several weeks prior). They sent us away and said they would contact us as soon as they had more information, but did not contact us after verifying insurance. We rescheduled the appointment, and had it canceled by text message two days prior, because they would have no doctor. We rescheduled that appointment, and it was canceled by text message the afternoon before (which was a Sunday).

This spot was recommended to me and I decided to try it out after leaving my other dental office because I moved. I paid $135 (I don't have insurance) and they did x-rays and cleaned my teeth in 5 mins and when the tech told the dentist that I had build up on my bottom front teeth and back wisdom tooth, she scraped my teeth in one min and never touched my wisdom tooth. The only reason i am giving a 2 star is because the staff was actually very nice and friendly, but very nice isn't helping my teeth unfortunately. I hate that i transferred and have to leave right away.

I wish I could rate 0 stars. My 6 year old needed several crowns and fillings which they spanned across 6 appointments. We were at our last appointment, after waiting an hour in the waiting room they call me back and proceed to tell me that they couldn't get any work done because she was saying it hurt and kept pushing their hands away. They said they were going to refer us out for the remainder of her dental work because they couldn't work with her anymore.. they never once tried to come get me to calm her down or anything. The entire experience was confusing and unprofessional. My daughter was so upset, she felt like SHE had done something wrong to make the dentist not like her anymore. Completely awful experience.

My appointment was deleted twice, after the process of creating it took 20+ minutes both times. I let the staff know that I would be losing insurance after my appointment date, and this made no difference in my appointment being given away because some of my insurance information was incomplete (I was told I could complete it later). Now I will be paying out of pocket, but definitely going to another office

I will not be returning to Ocean Dental. The nurses and manager are not friendly . The TV is the only thing that works in the waiting room no other kids toys.

While I wouldn't say my children "enjoy" going here, the atmosphere, professionalism and friendliness of all the staff from the front counter to the dentist make for a stress-free visit. Wait time has never been excessive, they do a great job of explaining to the kids what they'll be doing, and that greatly alleviates fear. Wish a place like this had been around when I was younger.

Four girls under 5 plus myself and my husband were seen. The entire staff could not be more friendly, comforting, honest, and professional. Our kiddos love going to the dentist....who else can honestly say that?! Thank you, Ocean Dental!

My little girl, who is nine, had a cavity and the doctor and assistant did so great coaching her through the shot and although she had some discomfort, by the end she was laughing and back to her bubbly self. Thanks for taking care of my girl and her smile!
