Welcome to Ocala Endodontics. You have been referred to our office because your dentist has determined that you may need root canal therapy. Doctors refer their patients to us because of their confidence in our extensive training and high quality, sensitive care. As an endodontic team, we specialize in the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of disease of your tooths nervous system. This includes root canal therapy and associated disease of the gum and bone surrounding the tooth.
Dr. Nixon grew up in Northern Illinois. She attended College at Illinois State University in Chicago earning a BS in biology. She earned her Dental degree from The University of Illinois College of Dentistry in Chicago. After dental school Dr. Nixon went on for further training in Hospital Dentistry in an externship at Michael Reese Hospital and a General Practice Residency at Loyola University Affiliated Hospitals.
While in dental school Dr. Nixon worked for an endodontist who was one of her professors in dental school. Dr. Nixon admired Dr. Zelikows treatment of patients and his commitment to educating students that she felt endodontics was the best place for a rewarding career and helping people keep their natural teeth and maintaining good dental health.
Dr. Nixon attended The University of Illinois College of Dentistry Endodontic Program. On completion of the certification in Endodontics, Dr. Nixon taught endodontics and dental treatment planning to foreign trained dentists acquiring the credentials to practice in the United States and worked in private practice. Dr. Nixon has been a member of the American Association of Endodontists, the American Dental Association and the Florida Dental Association since she started practicing dentistry. In 1996 Dr. Nixon started teaching full time at the University of Florida in the department of Endodontics. Dr. Nixon loves the work of clinical endodontics. Over time she increased her clinical practice and has reduced her teaching commitment.
Dr. Nixon bought this practice in Ocala in July 2001. She loves Ocala because of the beautiful country side and all the horses. Dr. Nixon is committed to this communities dental health. She is a current member and past president of the Marion County Dental Association. Dr. Nixon is a board member of Access to Health Care Inc., a group of health professional and community advocates dedicated to improving access to the best healthcare in Marion County. Dr. Nixon is a Marion County Health Department volunteer, providing emergency dental care for the economically disadvantaged.
As a native to Ocala Florida I attended the College of Central Florida and graduated in 2002 from the dental assisting program. After graduation I received my certification from the Dental Assisting National Board and began working for Dr. Nixon. Patients come in to our office in pain and nervous. I feel great when I am able to help Dr. Nixon relieve their anxiety and get them comfortable again.
I also enjoy helping the community by volunteering for Dentistry of the Heart and the Marion County Health Department Dental Clinic. During my down time I enjoy outdoor activities with my husband and two step-children.
I relocated to the Central Florida area from my home town of Columbus Ohio where I was a dental assistant for 2 years. I enjoy taking care of all of our patients needs from front desk to assisting! Ocala Endodontics has been a great new home for me. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my 2 fabulous children and my amazing husband kayaking, going to the beach and enjoying life!

Despite being masked and vaccinated with cards to show them, they wouldn't let us wait inside in the waiting room. We were the only ones there and the next appointment. They made us wait outside. In the heat.

Dr.Nixon and her staff are wonderful,caring and professional. I would recommend Ocala Endodontics to everyone. They are absolutely the best.

Never going back to this place. I did not have a say in the xray they did on me with the machine where I stand and the xray machine goes around my head. Wanted $186 upfront. They charged me for things that werent on my insurance WHICH THEY KNEW AHEAD OF TIME. And all because a root canal she did went bad. As I was sitting in the waiting room waiting to be called back 3 people that checked out was shocked as well because nothing was covered by their insurance. Ripping people off and stealing from them.horrible. I hope my last penny that I had left was worth it.

Dr. Nixon did a root canal on my right upper last Tuesday and I am happy to report thant tomorrow will be my week and I am already able to eat soft foods without any problems. Tonight I finally had a salad with my Quiche, which made me very happy. Dr. Nixon is a great pofessional, and her staff had called me twice in less than a week. If I ever need a root canal again I know where to go, and where I will send all my friends from now on. Thank You Dr. Nixon. I love you!!!

Dr. Nixon did a root canal and a couple of small surgeries for me. She has an air of confidence that will immediately put you at ease, and she moves rapidly through procedures with a steady hand and a cheerful stream of conversation. Her credentials are impressive, yet her office is small, comfortable, and non-intimidating, with a friendly and competent staff. Don't be nervous about your root canal procedure if Dr. Nixon is your endodontist - it won't hurt a bit, and she'll give you a cute little ice pad to apply to your face afterward, which is apparently what endodontists give you instead of a lollipop.

Dr Nixon did a my root canal. No issues and I was comfortable. She let me listen to my iPod. Staff at the desk were very nice.
