Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to introduce myself to you! I am an Orange County native, and after graduating from El Dorado High School, I attended the University of Hawaii on a full football scholarship. Due to injury, I received my undergraduate degree, in Biology, from California State University at Stanislaus. While at CSUS, I served as the team captains for both the Mens soccer and Mens track teams. I received my Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from USC School of Dentistry, where I graduated with honors and became a lifetime member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the esteemed National Dental Honor Society. I received my Specialty Orthodontic Certificate and Masters of Dental Science (MDS) Degrees from the University of Connecticut. I am a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, an extraordinary accomplishment achieved by a very small percentage of orthodontists.

My wife, Dr. Bonnie, and I have 3 beautiful children. Were OC Locals and enjoy all the awesome amenities the area has to offer. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, being active outdoors, and reading. I find importance in demonstrating solid values and morals, and I have always pursued excellence in my personal and professional life. I look forward to working with you to help create your beautiful, long-lasting, smile.

Dr. Mike Hyneman grew up locally in Fullerton, attending Laguna Road School the year it opened. He graduated from Sunny Hills High School before receiving a B.S. degree in Biology from Stanford University. After receiving a DMD degree from Washington University in St Louis, he moved back west to Arizona, where he practiced general and cosmetic dentistry 32 years before selling his offices and returning home to Fullerton in 2018.

Dr. Hyneman is married to his wife Roberta, a dental hygienist, and has two grown children. His daughter, Rachel, has a PhD in particle physics, and is completing a post-doctorate degree at Stanfords Linear Accelerator Center. His son, Daniel, has earned both DDS and MD degrees, and is in his fourth year of an oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at LSU Medical Center.

Dr. Hyneman and his wife enjoy home renovation in their spare time, as well as downhill skiing in Durango, Colorado, where they have a small second home. Additionally, he enjoys building experimental aircraft and has completed two projects.

Dr. Laleh Hedayat graduated from Dental School in 1997, and is also a former assistant professor at OHSU school of dentistry in Portland, Oregon. She has attended multiple comprehensive dental training programs at USC, UCLA and University of Pacific and has been practicing General Cosmetic Dentistry in Orange County since 2007.

Dr. Laleh has been active in hands-on continuing education and staying up to date in most advanced techniques of Restorative Cosmetic Dentistry. She is committed to creating a stress-free dental experience, for all of OC Smiles wonderful patients, by taking care of their dental and oral healthcare needs.

Dr Arman Mirai has been practicing cosmetic and general restorative dentistry in Southern California since 2003. In 2008, he completed a PROHAB residency at UCLA Dental School, which further enhanced his cosmetic, restorative, and surgical dental skills.

Dr. Mirai prides himself in being able to educate his patients about dentistry by approaching treatment with understanding, kindness, and integrity. He wants all his patients at OC Smile Dental & Orthodontics to feel like they are family and receive the best care for their individual needs.

Dr. Mirai has called Orange County home for nearly 2 decades! He and his wife love spending their free time as foodie explorers, both in California and abroad. Dr. Mirai also loves taking advantage of the beautiful California sunshine and beaches!

Dr. Frank Mehrdad, aka Dr. Frank, graduated from Arizona State University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology. He then moved to Maryland, where he completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) Degree from The University of Maryland School of Dentistry in 1999. Shortly after, Dr. Frank moved to Sunny Southern California in 2000, which is where hes been practicing dentistry ever since.

Among many things, Dr. Frank prides himself on providing the best cosmetic, general, and restorative dental procedures possible. He has kept up with the latest technology in dental field by attending countless continuing educational courses.

Dr. Alisha Hewko was born and raised in North Orange County. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of California, Santa Barbara and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (DDS) from the University of the Pacific in San Francisco.

Dr. Hewko prides herself on delivering quality dental care with compassion and respect to all of her patients. Her primary areas of focus are general dentistry inclusive of cosmetics, root canals, extractions, bone grafts, cosmetic repairs, crowns, dentures, teeth whitening, and more. Dr. Hewko has been practicing general and cosmetic dentistry in Southern California since 2015. She is excited to be a part of the OC Smile team and the communities we serve.

Dr. Austin Burnett is a Southern California native. He was born in Corona and lived in Yorba Linda most of his life. Upon graduation from Troy High School in Fullerton, he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology with minors in Chemistry and Japanese from BYU in Utah. He received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from UNLV School of Dental Medicine, where he graduated top of his class and Magna cum laude. Dr. Burnett completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery specialty training at Cook County Hospital, a level I trauma center in Chicago (see ER the tv show). He was awarded the Resident of the Year award twice while in residency, served as an adjunct faculty member for the Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine, and presented scholarly works at the Chicago Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons biannual meeting.

Dr. Burnett has completed certifications in ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support), and BLS (Basic Life Support). He has active hospital privileges at Orange County Global Medical Center in Santa Ana. Dr. Burnett is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS), the California Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (CALAOMS), the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology (ADSA), the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID), the American Dental Association (ADA), the California Dental Association (CDA), and the Orange County Dental Society (OCDS).

Dr. Burnett was married to his wife Elise in Redlands, CA. They currently have three children: Caden (7), Vance (5), and Macey Jane (1). He is an Eagle Scout, black belt in Tae Kwon Do, avid guitarist, lifelong soccer player, and die-hard Lakers fan!

Dr. Jeremy Owyoung graduated from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry/Cell Biology and Management Science. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry (USC). Upon the completion of dental school, Dr. Owyoung was trained at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) to achieve his speciality certificate in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry and a Master of Science degree in Biomaterials/Oral Biology. He has lectured and published on an array of topics including Chronic Disease Prevention and Oral Health Promotion, Dental Biomaterials, and Oral Implantology. Dr. Owyoung is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, A Recognized Specialty of the American Dental Association.

A native of Morocco, Sarah received her Bachelor degree in English from a university there, along with her degree in Business Administration. Upon moving to Southern California nearly 2 decades ago, Sarah has been working chairside treating patients as a Registered Dental professional and exclusively as a Registered Dental Hygienist since 2015.

Sarahs vast experiences, global knowledge, and patient focus in the dental field have given her the opportunity to establish wonderful long-term relationships with her patients. She prides herself in always providing excellent healthcare services to her patients with a happy smile and a great attitude.

Nicole is a Southern California local who has been in the dental field since 2012. She began her career as a registered dental assistant while completing her bachelors degree in Nutritional Science at California State University of Northridge (CSUN). She then went on to study Dental Hygiene at Concorde Career College, which is where she received her Dental Hygiene License and became a Registered Dental Hygienist. Nicole enjoys working close to home in OC, where she can serve her friends, family, and neighbors as one of OC Smiles Registered Dental Hygienists.

Nicole is extremely compassionate and very skilled at putting her patients at ease. She brings a positive attitude and passion for providing exceptional oral healthcare and education to all her patients at OC Smile. She constantly strives to deliver a super positive dental experience to all our patients. Nicole is a valued member of our dental and oral healthcare team.

Nicole currently resides in Huntington Beach with her fianc and their two cats, Ryder and Max. When Nicole is not in the office, she enjoys spending quality time with her family, going on bike rides along the beach, traveling, and being in the outdoors.

Miguel Arambul is a Southern California native who obtained his Dental Hygiene Degree here in Orange County. He brings to OC Smile a positive attitude and passion for providing exceptional oral healthcare and education. Miguels attention to detail and desire to deliver the best care for his patients makes him a valuable member of our dental team.

In his spare time, Miguel likes to volunteer for non-profit organizations such as the Special Olympics, Remote Access Medical, and OC Childrens Health Fair. He also enjoys spending time with his wife and practicing MMA with their four children.

An Eastern European native, Aurica has vast experiences with the many clinical facets of a dental practice. She started working in the dental field as a Registered Dental Assistant in 2003. Motivated by a strong desire to make a difference in her patients oral health, she advanced her career and became a licensed and registered dental hygienist. She graduated from Cypress College with a Degree in Health Sciences and obtained her Registered Dental Hygiene License in 2017.

Educating the patients on the importance of oral health and seeing the positive impact this can have in a patients life, is what Aurica enjoys the most about being a valued Registered Dental Hygienist a OC Smile Dental and Orthodontics.

Denise Najera, RDA, RDH is a Southern California native whos been in dentistry for over 20 years. She grew up locally in La Mirada and enjoys working close to home where she can serve her friends, family, and neighbors as one of OC Smiles Registered Dental Hygienists. Denise brings a positive attitude and passion for providing exceptional oral healthcare and education to all her patients at OC Smile. Denises prior assisting and dental hygiene experiences bring unique perspectives to her abilities to deliver the best care for her patients. Denise is a cherished member of our dental and oral healthcare team.

When shes not in the office, Denise enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and friends. In her free time, shes capitalizing on many wonderful benefits SoCal has to offer, including the local mountains, beaches, and nature trails. Some of her favorite hobbies are being active outdoors, playing and watching sports, and attending concerts.

Very pleasant experience today. My normal dentist is closed on Fridays. I had an emergency visit today for my son. Lindsey was very helpful and made the overall experience pleasant. So thankful OC smile is open on Fridays and Saturdays. I will be returning to OC smile. I highly recommend this dentist. I am now considering them for Orthodontics. CC

This place is beyond professional, very caring and a very clean/nicely appointed offices. Took me right in since I was in excruciating pain and got me squared away very quickly. I highly recommend them, you will not be disappointed.
