In her early career, Dr. Funtik was trained as a dental lab technician. At the age of 19, she moved to Colorado Springs from Europe and graduated from Pikes Peak Community College in dental assisting. Here, she earned numerous awards such as the Rising Star Award, Arthur B. MetzgerOutstanding Dental Assisting Student Award and both International and Dean's scholarships. She was recruited by St. Lawrence University on a full scholarship earning a Bachelor of Science degree graduating summa cum laude. Shewas also invited to join Phi Beta Kappa, a prestigious honor received by only about 1% of college seniors nationwide.
Dr. Funtik graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine in Farmington CT, where she was honored with the Hanau Excellence in Prosthodontics Award for outstanding clinical skills. Here, she also obtained her specialty training in Prosthodontics, specializing in complex restorative and implant treatments.
Dr. Funtik believes in helping patients in need and did mission trips to South Africa helping underserved children and Alaska providing dentures to Native Tribes.She believes in life-long learning and is a member of the International Team for Implantology (ITI), American College of Prosthodontists (ACP), American Dental Association (ADA), American Academy of Facial Esthetics (AAFE)and Colorado Springs Dental Society (CSDS).
Vanessa was born and raised in Colorado Springs. She earned Associates Degree of Applied Science in Dental Assisting and certification as an Expanded Duties Dental Assistant from Pikes Peak Community College. She was nominated by her peers to receive the Arthur B. Metzger Award for Outstanding Dental Assisting Student. She believes in staying on top of the latest and greatest in dentistry and providing the best care to her patients. Behind her gentle and soft-spoken personality is a talent for dental work; from color to contours and symmetry. When not doing dentistry, she enjoys fishing, camping and spending time with her husband and 2 children.

We switched to Dr. Funtik and Oasis Prosthodontics because of their concern for their patients health during covid. We couldn't be happier. Dr. Funtik is exceptional in her knowledge of all things pertaining to the health of teeth and gums. She will do all that she can to safe existing teeth. It is worth a 4 hour round trip to get the best care of our teeth. The staff is always very friendly. Extremely happy we found Oasis Prosthodontics.

Dr. Funtik was extremely patient and generous with her time. I brought my 85 year old mother to correct some problems with dentures that she got from another office. She solved the problem and Mom's appetite and pleasure eating has returned!

Dr. Funtik and her staff are the best team of professionals I have ever met. When I first met with Dr. Funtik I was very upset due to all other procedures that I had to go through, and complications that occurred. I had all upper teeth removed and denture that was made was really big. Dr. Funtik took the time to explain all procedures thoroughly and and never in a rush.Office is so clean and she only uses best materials for her work. I am so happy with my upper and I love my smile. I highly recommend Dr. Funtik!

I spent much time and money searching for a prosthodontist in New Mexico where I live and no one was willing or able to complete the previously complete implants with crowns and a partial that I needed. I had previously been abandoned by my dentist mid-stream and with no teeth and no one willing to help. And I mean no one. I went online and Googled Colorado - and there I found Dr. Funtik. She patiently followed through and did extraordinary work. Today, after years without, I have my smile back. I can again enjoy fresh salads and produce and as a result my health has improved. The staff are all wonderful, and follow thru with your requests and needs. At Oasis you are a valued person and Dr. Funtik hears what your concerns are and goes to work to eliminate them with exquisite and gently completed work. She is a brilliant prosthodontist and a gracious person. If you have had the patience to read this review to this point, then you are looking for someone who can - and will - stick with you until your dental needs are complete, you are totally happy, and your mouth has no discomfort any longer. Please, please call Oasis.

While researching for options, I met with Dr. Funtik for a second opinion for my upper teeth and gum issues. I had gotten a quote from another Dr. for complete removal of all my upper teeth and replacement with all implants for over $30,000. Previously, by another doctor I had 2 implants removed that were only 3 years old, due to infections, and bone loss. I needed other options. Dr. Funtik described the condition of my teeth and how she would approach my concerns. I choose Dr. Funtik and since then, I am so pleased with the measures she applied, her detailed explanations and finally the healthy condition of all of my teeth. Dr. Funtik, thank you for your professionalism and that of your dental assistants and staff.

I have been working with Dr. Funtik for more than 3 years. I had a number of issues going on including gum disease, and jaw alignment. These things were impacting a number of things including my sleep patterns and digestion. She came up with a plan for me that worked out great! I could not be happier with the results! She and her staff were so nice and easy to work with. I would highly recommend Oasis Prosthodontics and Dr. Funtik!

Me: In my late 40's. Periodontal Disease since my late 20"s. Had more fillings and crowns than I could count. My front teeth were so thinn that they were chipped, filed down and transparent. I clench; my jaw and face were in pain. The dentin was exposed. I couldn't brush the left side of my mouth. My teeth were yellow/brow. I've been hiding my smile for over a decade. I hated the way I looked and felt. I was not in a good place. By the time I found Dr. Marina Funtik I was rejected by 3 specialist this year alone. I was hopeless. Enter Dr. Funtik: I saw Dr. Funtik in late May 2021. After my initial exam she sat down with me and proposed a plan. Yes, she had a plan!!! She went over every detail, time frame, cost, and answered all my question. But most of all she gave me hope. By July 28, 2021 I had a new smile!!! I kid you not!!!! A full new, beautiful bright smile. I cried. Like no kidding cried. I never thought this was possible!! Dr. Funtik is pure genius! I still don't know how she made it happen. Her work is impeccable. She is thorough, precise but best of all.. she's just a genuine, kind and sweet person! But wait...it gets better!!! I wanted to try Botox but was scared. Didn't want to be without expression. Dr. Funtik eased me into it. She "sprinkled" Botox to the areas I was concerned about. Fast forward to today: I have a simile that I love!!!! I don't clench as much. My face is me but 110% better.The wrinkles that looked like railroad tracks are barely noticeable. I have full expression and movement on my face. I don't know how she does this but it's pure magic!!! Office experience: Dr. Marina Funtik and her staff are AWESOME!!! Very professional, caring, and positive. They went over and beyond to work with schedule, finances, and insurance. A special shout out and a thank you to Amanda!! Conclusion: Words cannot express my gratitude to Dr. Marina Funtik. She didn't just give me a smile.. she gave me a whole new me back. I smile now, I'm happy, my attitude is better...life is just better!!! Dr. Marina Funtik has been heaven sent to me. Dr. Funtik and her staff are wonderful; they are very professional, friendly, and super careful during Covid. I have TMJ issues, so Dr. Funtik is helpful in maintaining my splint and overall oral/facial health. She also offers services beyond dental.

I have been a long term patient of Dr. Funtik at Oasis. I have been suffering from sleep problems my whole adult life. I already had both braces and surgery (SARPE) to widen my jaws and still could not sleep through the night. I would wake up many times throughout night and would still be tired in the morning. After an examination and sleep study, I was diagnosed with moderate sleep apnea and Dr. Funtik recommended a sleep apnea appliance. I've had the appliance for almost a month and can't go to bed without it. I can sleep through the whole night and FINALLY wake up rested! So glad that my poor sleep was finally addressed with proper treatment and expertise by Dr. Funtik.

I had my first dental visit at Oasis Prosthodontics and was extremely impressed. My hygienist Jen, was exceptional, the front office staff was very welcoming and the doctor was very attentive. I would recommend this office to anyone looking for a new dental practice that truly cares about their patients.

Dr Funtik helped relieve my TMJ pain after I saw 4 other dentists who didn't help. She did a thorough exam unlike others as well. I appreciate her willingness to try treatments other dentists don't. It's hard to find anyone competent to treat TMJ disorders. I look forward to further tmj treatment with Dr Funtik.

My name is Wafa' Issa Glaus and I am over 60 years of age. As you can imagine, I've been to many dentists in my life BUT never have I met one like Dr. Funtik. When I came into her office for the first time, I had already gotten implants from another Prosthodontics and had teeth fall out 4 times from my implants. After I found her, I explained my issues with my implants. The first thing I noticed about Dr. Funtik was the empathy she had for me which already made me know that I was in the right place. Most dentist will turn you away if you did not get the implants from them but I did not want to go back to my previous dentist. I have been turned away 6 times. Me knowing this I prayed that she would not turn me away and she didn't. We worked together to find out the type of screws and size that was used in my implants. She did not give on me or my problem. Needless to say, she figured everything out and repaired my implants. Just like Dr. Funtik, her staff was an exceptional group of people. They too made me fell welcome. I just recently decided to get new implants. We worked together to figure out what was best for me and my fears and concerns with the implants. I was so pleased with the time she and her staff took with me in selecting what I wanted. I was never once pressured into doing or buying anything. Her cost was reasonable for what I wanted. Attached is the photo of my new implants. After I left her office and got into my vehicle, I cried like a baby because I was so happy to finally meet a dentist that truly cared about ME! I feel like a million bucks. I will never ever walk into another dentist office again. She will always and forever be my dentist. Now, not only is she my dentist but I found out that she does Botox and Fillers. I left that office looking 45 instead of 60. I love you and your beautiful staff Dr. Funtik. Thank you for giving me back my smile and my life.

I have been happy to refer Dr. Funtik to many friends and family. She is attentive, knowledgeable about the latest in dentistry and has a wonderful bedside manner. She listens, and we can count on her to give us the best direction for our dental needs. And whether it is a root canal or cosmetic dentistry, she is a pro! I trust her and her staff (we love Amber)! I've had dentures since 1993, and in about 2002 I began a new process of getting titanium implants in my lower jaw which I likened to a football goalpost, with the lower denture attaching onto the crossbar. Fall 2015 I went to a different prosthodontics office because of location, and got my 3rd set of dentures. That dentist, upon retiring, had given me the name of Dr. Marina Funtik. I had my first appointment with her 9-08-2020 as I knew my 5-year old dentures were wearing down. She gave me a complete exam, listened to my concerns and we began what I was told would be a 4-5 month process, but that I wouldn't have new teeth for the holidays. No big deal cuz I wasn't going to travel for Christmas, thanks to COVID-19. Today it's 12-30-2020 and I have new dentures, way ahead of schedule! Yes, I got new front (and all) teeth for Christmas! Prior to Dr. Funtik and her expertise, from early 1993 until 12-22-2020 I spent a small fortune on Fixodent as I never had had suction in the upper denture, and didn't know it was possible for the upper teeth to stay in place without "gluing" them in twice a day. To say that I am THRILLED is a huge understatement! I AM SO HAPPY!!! Every single person in this practice is friendly, sweet, patient, understanding, and professional, and I would give them 1,000 stars if I could! It will indeed be a better 2021! Dr Funtik has been taking excellent care of my teeth for years. She has performed complex procedures and always makes sure all work matches your natural teeth. But the best part for me is the pain prevention. She uses modern equipment that results in less pain while numbing a much smaller area than before. Instead of half your face numb for most of the day, it is more isolated and clears up faster. Also need to shout out the excellent staff, whether talking to you, working with insurance, or prepping and working on your teeth. I would not even consider moving to another dentist as long as I could get to her office and back in a day's drive.
