Dr. Oluwayemisi Akinrefon (who is known as Dr. Yemisi) graduated from Johns Hopkins University where she received a Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Engineering. Later, she received her dental degree from the University of Maryland with honors. Following graduation, she completed two years of Advanced Education in General Dentistry to obtain additional training in complex dental cases. In addition to general dentistry training, she completed her post-graduate training in Pediatric Dentistry at Howard University. I guess she really loved school!
Throughout her years of practice, Dr. Yemisi has been focused on providing the best dental experience and dental treatment for children by providing quality care in a child-friendly environment. As a board-certified pediatric dentist, she remains up-to-date with the latest recommendations for your childs care. As a dentist trained in Advanced General Dentistry, she sees the full picture and makes recommendations aimed at future needs.
She is currently faculty at the University of Maryland in the Pediatric Department and has hospital privileges at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital and University of Maryland Capital Region Health (formerly Laurel Hospital) She is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

My daughter has a huge dental phobia and Dr. Akinrefon is very patient with her. She explains everything thoroughly and makes her feel comfortable. We love Oasis!

Dr. Yemisi was wonderful with my 3 and 5 year old. We switched dentists because I felt that our previous dentist was not giving my children's teeth enough time and attention. Dr. Yemisi was conscientious, took the time to explain things, and interacted well with my children. The office was also very child friendly, with toys in the waiting room and TVs playing cartoons while their teeth were cleaned.

I am so HAPPY to have found such an AMAZING dental office. DR. Yemisi is so PROFESSIONAL,KNOWLEDGEABLE,CARING AND WONDERFUL, Absolutely the best dentist in Maryland. My daughter is 12 years old, she couldn't be happier with her new dentist dr. Yemisi. From the second we walked in yesterday the ladies at the from desk were so cheerful and welcoming. This was my daughter's first visit as a new patient and Dr. did an amazing job at making her feel comfortable and at ease about the entire process! exceeded my expectations! I DEFINITELY recommend this pediatric dental office to everyone!!. I would give 10 stars if I could. LA MEJOR DENTISTA DE NINOS EN MARYLAND. My daughter Sahleah needed a crown done on one of her teeth and Dr.Yemisi and her team took their time,love,care and patience to make sure Sahleah felt comfortable and not scared or nervous like she was at her other dentist .I give Oasis Kids Dental a trillion starts because they are better than 5 stars and everyone there is absolutely amazing. Very sweet and patient with kids. My daughter doesn't normally like dentist visits. After this visit she was excited to come back. The staff is very kind and explain the cost thoroughly. I recommend this place!!

Best experience my kids have ever had at the dentist! My kids used to be extremely fearful of doctors, dentists, and any medical personnel, due to prior experiences while we lived in California. This was not the case with Oasis staff and dentist. My son and daughter, both under 5, felt extremely comfortable and even had fun! The staff and dentist were pro's with my children and made a wonderful connection in the waiting room... this sealed the trust and confidence of my children and put their minds at ease. They talked, joked, and explained the process step-by-step as they cleaned both my children's teeth, and then they fixed my son's cap. My children will enthusiastically continue receiving their treatment with Oasis, and I highly recommend this pediatric dentistry to anyone with children!

I recently took both of my daughters to Oasis dental And both I and my girls were happy with the service and the experience. The space is very child friendly and the dentist pay upmost attention to my girls. She was so in tune with my girls and her and staff were extremely professional and helpful to me and my girls. After the visit my oldest wanted to play dentist every day and relived her experience in her play which is just Priceless to me. I have to search Amazon to see about dentist toys for her to really help her imagination come alive. This to say that their visit had a lasting impact on them. They are now very enthusiastic about brushing their teeth and flossing. So there you have 5 star experience and service.

Oasis kids is always wonderful! My children get truly excited for their dentist appointments. Oasis makes them feel welcome and comfortable from the second we walk in the door. Everyone there is lovely. I have already recommended them to our friends!

The BEST experience EVER!!!! First time patient in need of emergent care for my daughter and was offered SAME DAY! As an add on to their already busy schedule! Most places would have and did turn us away but not at Oasis!!! They are truly here to help! A 10 star review is well deserved! From the first phone call with the assistance from Diana to getting the xrays and then with Dr. Yemisi...AWESOME!!! My daughter received a great goodie bag after the service..and I received an adult care package!!! Just WOW!!! And the office is beautiful and very welcoming. Needless to say, this will now be our home!! What a blessing you all are!! Keep up the FANTASTIC work!!!

I cannot praise Dr. Akinrefon enough at Oasis Kids Dental in Glen Burnie. For my sons entire life I've had to assist people with him when it's come to his care. Always explaining his Autism diagnosis, sensory needs, and then needing to calm him down through routine check ups etc. Today was his routine dental cleaning and from the start everyone made sure he was comfortable. He wasn't happy with what was on the tv and without skipping a beat they changed the movie for him and then muted every tv in the office because he said it was too loud. She explained every detail to him, let him help (patiently) and not once did I have to step in and calm him down even though he had some anxious moments still. I can't express enough how relieving it is to work with someone in health care that not only understands but respects their patients with special needs.

My 3 year old and 1 year old had their first dental exams here. The doctor was wonderful with them and made them very comfortable. The support staff are also very friendly and helpful. Overall it was a really positive experience and my kids are excited to come back next time.

Not only is the office clean and inviting so is the staff. From the moment we walked in we were greeted and it didn't take long before we were being seated in the back. Of course there was an awesome kids movie on and we were even asked if we wished to watch something else which was cool. The information provided to my child and I was unmatched and truly made me feel like they cared not about making money but about maintaining my child's health teeth and gums. Wish they took adults because this office is a no brainer !!!! They are AMAZING !
