Dr. Derrick Chen grew up in San Francisco, California. He received his bachelors degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California at Berkeley. Subsequently, Dr. Chen traveled to the east coast and obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from New York University College of Dentistry. Furthermore, he advanced his education by completing a dental residency at Maimonides Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY. Before Dr. Chen started his own practice, he worked in many other dental practices. No matter where Dr. Chen practices, he always gives his patients undivided attention and care. He believes that respect and communication are always his top priorities for his patients. Dr. Chen has extensive postgraduate training and experience in all aspects of general dentistry including implant restorations, cosmetic procedures, periodontal maintenance (continuing care of gums), childrens dentistry, and root canal therapy, etc. Dr. Chen is very passionate about dentistry and meticulous about his work. He is dedicated to provide comprehensive, aesthetic, comfortable and gentle care tailoring to each patients specific need. He seeks to educate his patients while providing exemplary services and care, and create a doctor-patient relationship that will last a lifetime. Dr. Chen is dedicated to the newest advancements in cosmetic dentistry and keeps up to date with the latest technology by attending various dental conventions and taking continuing education courses throughout the year. Dr. Chen is a member of the American Dental Society, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Chen and his staff are amazing! Dr. Chen is very gentle and takes his time with procedures, and ensures that you're 100% comfortable with what he is doing. Dentists usually make me feel uneasy, but this was the most relaxing dental visit I have ever been to!

Dr. Chen is probably the best dentist I've been to in New York. There's little to no wait time. Scheduling is easy with no hassle and they're very understanding and personable. They also have amenities that not many offices have. The coffee and tv were a nice touch and I can't say I've seen that before. I'd highly recommend him to anybody. He's great with children and a great person. My son loves him.

Dr Chen is amazing at what he does! He has hands of gold! He is very informative and explains everything. All of my questions and concerns were addressed and answered by Dr. Chen. I did not feel a thing when he did my root canal and honestly I thought it would be horrifying. He is honestly the best! Office is very nice and clean with state of the art equipment too! His team is stellar! Referring my family and friends for sure and will be coming back in 6 months for my annual check up and cleaning. Thank you Oasis Dental Care New City! You guys rock !!!

Thorough, so thorough. I wish doctors would spend as much time on 1 person as Dr Chen does. Will update after crown. OH, would b great 4 kids. Lots of mags 4 everyone, though u never wait more than 3 min.

I was Dr. Chen's first patient at Oasis Dental in New City. Dr. Chen was about to take over the prior doctors practice in a few days and I called in because my crown had come off. He had not even set up but heard my frustration and said he would have me meet him at the office asap. He was so understanding and did such a professional job that I sent my whole family to him after that great experience. In this day, there are very few dentists that are so conscientious and take the time to do a perfect job. I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Chen.
