Dr. Steven P. Jaffe was named one of Hour Magazines top dentists! He graduated from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, Ann Arbor with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. He then completed postgraduate training as a General Practice Resident at New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Jaffe is a strong advocate for continuing education, completing an extensive dental implant training course and attending numerous courses in advanced oral surgery, invisible braces, cosmetics, prevention, and more. As part of your experienced dental team, Dr. Jaffe is highly trained in all areas of dentistry in order to deliver the best quality dental care.
Dr. Raphael V. Goldstein's was also named one of Hour Magazine's top dentists! Using the most state of the art equipment and techniques, Dr. Goldstein's professional goal is to provide patients with the highest-quality dental care. Upon graduating from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, Ann Arbor, with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, Dr. Goldstein completed postgraduate work at several other respected institutions, including attending Staff Dentist at Ravenswood Hospital, Chicago. Throughout his career, Dr. Goldstein has taken thousands of hours of continuing education courses in order to provide the most advanced and comfortable dentistry possible, including implant dentistry, orthodontics, cosmetic dentistry, and sedation dentistry, amongst others. Currently, Dr. Goldstein has dental offices in Novi and Dearborn and is a medical staff member of Oakwood Hospital, Dearborn.
Dr. Shadiya Ahmed graduated from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Dentistry Advanced Standard program earning her DMD. Prior to this she received her BDS doctorate degree from SDMCDS in India. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Academy of General Dentistry, and American Student Dental Association. She enjoys performing Comprehensive and Aesthetic dentistry including all aspects of family dental care, and offers her patients the latest in quality treatment and diagnostic care.
Dr.Ahmed is committed to continuing education with an evidence based approach, exploring new innovations in the field of dentistry and providing her patients with the best possible comfort and care and attention for all of their oral health needs. She enjoys her family time and is often found socializing in the community. She also enjoys reading, horseback riding, and ocean views.
Dr. Amelia Richardson is a native Southeast Michigander. She graduated with a bachelors degree in Biology and Chemistry from Eastern Michigan University. She then worked full-time for 5 years as a researcher focusing on the genetics and developmental anomalies of the human dentition. Her research contributions resulted in authorship on 17 peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Richardsons dental research solidified her passion for dentistry and resulted in her attending and graduating from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.
Dr. Richardson is dedicated to making patients feel comfortable while delivering quality, personalized dental care. Furthermore, she is committed to being a life-long learner in order to continually optimize her expertise, and stay up to date in the field, for the benefit of her patients. When she is not at the office, she enjoys the outdoors, reading, and playing trivia.

Pros: good and accurate waiting time, hence I am giving an extra star. Cons: Alot!! My experience was not the best one ever. I had to deal with 3 physicians in 3 different occasions as they were covering each other. One of them was horrible.. I had a root canal to be done. The doc who did it was not qualified to do this specific case. It was the very far tooth with difficulty, and it was not a case they do everyday. and she told me later: she does not have a microscope and she prefers to refer me to a specialist after she realized that I had a complication. She did not admit having initially, as she said "it happens" without acknowledging that it was a complication. They claimed that I am super sensitive to pain, and she also mentioned that it may happened because I was stressed out!! Finally she referred me to a root canal specialist who explained why the complication happened, and found another complication that she never knew about and fixed it. To healthcare providers in the field: I had a maxillary sinus perforation, and the side of the tooth was perforated as well and the specialist had to patch it- showed it to me on the CT scan). The assistant when I came back a week after was surprised that my whole face was swollen (because of the complication), and asked "are you allergic to something?", again without acknowledging that they did wrong, or maybe the physician never documented that she had a complication!! the same assistant was very rough handing the equipment's and left me with lip bruise.. Finally: they charged me before they did anything for the whole procedure; the root canal that they never finished and I had to pay again to the specialist; tooth restoration; and the crown. They ask you to pay upfront.. when I went back I told them that they should not charge me for the root canal since I had to finish it somewhere else. The lady at front desk (who was not very friendly about it) replied they did not. Then I asked her about the $$ I paid, she said you will have some money in your credit. That was more than a year ago, and they never returned it back to me and I don't really know how much they owe me as she never explained. I need to say: I work in the medical field, and I know complications happen with the best hands. what makes the difference is being professional. They were unprofessional in: 1)avoiding it 2) acknowledge it 3) communicate with the team about it and maybe document it 4) communicate with the patient about it, rather they blamed the patient that it happened (or that what I felt) and 5) handling the financial part. My advise: stay away from this place, unless you really have to, then just do the simple straightforward dentalcare

The staff are very friendly and very professional. They make you feel so comfortable. The wait time is excellent, Im always in and out and they can get you in for an appointment within days, not weeks or months like some offices. I had a crown put on 1 year ago because I'd cracked my tooth and have had 0 problems since. I've referred friends, family and coworkers that have all been satisfied with them also. I've been coming to them for about 6+ years and wouldn't change anything about the service. This has been the same post for the past couple years. We're half way thru 2022 and the same thing goes. These ladies are excellent, from the Dentist an hygienist to the front desk. Couldn't ask for a better staff!! If you want excellent service by a Bunch of wonderful Professionals with smiling faces (even behind these mask) OAKWOOD FAMILY DENTISTS is were you wanna go!!!

I went with my Dad to his appointment with Dr. Richardson. We were treated very respectfully, professionally and friendly from the moment we walked in the door until we left. Everyone answered all of our questions as well. The facility is great too. I would recommend Oakwood Family Dentists to anyone.

I had been going to this dentist for 2 years. Paid about almost 3k out of pocket for work and was satified until last week fri. I was in my way to my appointment when my car stoped in the road. When it happend I called right away and it was 30min before my appointment. The young lady on the phone who was new was rude lied a few times and informed me that since I canceld two time, mind you I didn't cancel the first time they canceled me because I had systems of covid and they didn't want me there and this was over a year ago, I had to be a walk in only no longer able to make an appointment. Mind you I possibly have cracked my crown and have been in pain for about a week at this point. i was further upset because I asked the young lady 3 times for their sister location phone number and she would not tell me no matter how many times I asked but she did feel the need to tell me what she felt I needed to know. I told her to have someone just call me back and she said she would. That was a lie because when I called back she told me that no one could speak with me until Monday which she knew before she told me they would call me back later because apparently all the dentist and office employees were all in a meeting all day not seeing patients. I've ended up disappointed because you can't have anything unexpected happen even a year apart without it being counted aginist you even if you don't cancel and they cancel.

Oakwood Family Dentist has the most amazing staff. They treat us like we're VIP and the service is excellent. Our teeth are always in great condition, because of them, as they tell us what to pay attention to. I can always power nap while they clean/work on my mouth and they are accommodating to everyone's budget because they inform you of any copays in advance. We highly recommend them
