Dr. Craig M. Scimeca was born and raised in Vienna, Virginia, just a few miles from his practice. He graduated summa cum laude from Virginia Tech University and obtained his Dental Doctorate (Doctorial) from the Medical College of Virginia as valedictorian. Most recently, Dr. Scimeca has been nominated as one of the Top Dentists in Northern Virginia for 2016! Because Top Dentists is based on an exhaustive peer-review survey in which dentists and specialists throughout the DC metro area cast votes on the abilities of other dentists and specialists, and because listings cannot be purchased (and no payment is required to be listed), inclusion in Top Dentists is considered a singular honor. Dr. Scimeca has been among the Top Dentists in Northern Virginia for numerous years.
By maintaining high levels of continuing education courses throughout the years, Dr. Scimeca received his masters degree from the Academy of General Dentistry and the International Association of Dentistry of which only two percent of all dentists have achieved in the last 50 years. Most recently, Dr. Scimeca was invited to the International Association of Dentistry (IAD), which represents top dentists in the dental community. He has acquired numerous continuing education credits from the prestigious Dawson Center for Advancement in Dentistry and Misch Institute of Advanced Implantology. Dr. Scimeca has been selected to be a Spear faculty member by the internationally renowned Scottsdale Center for Dentistry; only 1,000 dentists in the world are in this elite group. He has spent several years teaching at this institute.
Dr. Tamer N. Elhady earned a Bachelor of Science in biology and chemistry from Virginia Tech. He then received his doctoral degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 2000. He continues to expand his skills and expertise by completing hundreds of hours of continuing education each year with specific emphasis on implants, cosmetic dentistry, and CAD/CAM technology.
In order to always provide his patients with the most advanced technology and techniques available, Dr. Elhady attends the worlds most prestigious institutes and lecture seminars. Some of these institutes include the Dawson Center for Advancement in Dentistry, the Piper Institute for TMJ treatment, the Misch Institute of Advanced Implantology, the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry, and the Georgia Health Science Center Maxi Implant Residency. Dr. Elhady has earned his Fellowship from the Academy of General Dentistry and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, which is a recognition that only ten percent of dentists have historically achieved. He was also selected by Consumer Reach Council of America as one of their Top Dentists.
Dr. Christina E. Samra grew up in Vienna, Virginia and graduated from Flint Hill School. Dr. Samra graduated cum laude with a bachelors degree in chemistry from The George Washington University. She then graduated from the University of Maryland College of Dental Surgery. She was selected as the recipient of the Academy of Osseointegration Outstanding Student in Implant Dentistry Award. She was also presented with the Deans Community Service Award in recognition of many hours of contribution and service to the community.
Dr. Samra has taken advanced dental postgraduate courses at the world renowned Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI), specializing in advanced reconstructive dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, neuromuscular dental procedures, and TMD/TMJ treatment. She has taken and passed her Fellowship exam with LVI and is currently the youngest Fellow of LVI. In 2014, she received her Mastership from the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. This is a very prestigious accomplishment as there are only about 20 dentists worldwide who have achieved this.
Dr. Samra is in the process of submitting her cases to the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry to achieve the prestigious and highly sought out accredited member status. Dr. Samra regularly attends the major dental conferences annually to keep abreast of the latest procedures, materials, and technology that she can apply in practice. Dr. Samra is proficient in all phases of complex restorative dentistry, root canals, cosmetic dentistry, TMJ treatment, implant dentistry, and all phases of general dentistry.
Dr. Isra T. Elrayah earned her bachelors degree in biology from Virginia Tech and then received her doctorate from the Virginia Commonwealth Universitys School of Dentistry. She has been practicing dentistry for over 10 years.
Dr. Elrayahs goal is to provide excellent patient care and help her patients improve and maintain a healthy smile. She is dedicated to evidence-based dentistry and continues to expand her skills and expertise by attending continuing education courses every year.
Dr. Jennifer W. Eckhart is a third generation dentist and started her training at 14 years old at her fathers dental office! She fell in love with dentistry while going on mission trips to Central America and serving those in need. Dr. Eckhart earned her bachelors degree at Boston college and then received her dental degree from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. She received several awards such as the University of Maryland School of Dentistry (UMSOD) Dental Implant Student Award and the UMSOD Oral Surgery Clerkship.
Dr. Eckhart makes it a priority to keep up to date with continuing education by attending SPEAR meetings and the American Academy of Osseointegration (AO) meetings regularly, and has completed the In-Office Dental Implant Surgery Course.
Dr. Eckhart is a Pennsylvania native and moved to Northern Virginia in the summer of 2020 with her fianc. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, and staying active with golf, tennis, snowboarding, and painting.
Dr. Leo Perez received his bachelors degree and Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Texas at San Antonio. He was sponsored by the Navy throughout his training through the Health Services Collegiate Program and was honorably selected into a Full Time Out Service (FTOS) OMS residency program during dental school. Dr. Perez continued his training at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD). He also completed his general surgery and anesthesia internship and subsequently completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery training in 2014.
Dr. Perez has special interest in dentoalveolar surgery, dental implant and bone grafting surgeries, cleft palate surgery, orthognathic surgery, trauma surgery, facial reconstructive surgery, facial cosmetics, and TMJ surgery and reconstruction.
Dr. Perez is currently in active duty at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where he functions as a staff member in an OMS resident and teaching facility that engages in the full scope of the specialty. During his free time, Dr. Perez likes to spend time with his wife and three children.
