Oakmont Advanced Dentistry was founded in 1968, and we have provided excellent smile care ever since. Today, youll receive your care from Dr. Todd Resek, a local dentist for 25-plus years and a Pittsburgh Magazine Top Dentist for nine years, and Dr. Sean Bell, who completed an advanced general dentistry training program after dental school.

Dentistry is something that I grew up with. My father was a dentist, my uncle was a dentist, and through my college years I was able to spend a lot of time with them and really see how their experience and expertise was able to help people and improve upon their situations. I actually had the experience where when I was younger I broke one of my front teeth, right in half. Going through that, and the emotions and the kind of the terror really oh no, what are you going to do?, and then having my dad be able to help me with that, and get through that and kind of really provide a solution almost immediately was something that stuck with me. And really kind of guided me towards really considering dentistry and getting into the dental profession. My education started after high school at the University of Pittsburgh. I studied neuroscience there and had a minor in chemistry. From there I went into dental school at the University of Pittsburgh. After dental school, I chose to further my education through a advanced education in general dentistry program at New York University, in Providence Rhode Island, which provided me a really great hands on training experience where I could further my skills and really kind of focus on becoming the best dentist and providing the best quality of care possible to my patients. Often times people are not very comfortable coming to the dentist. It's not a very comfortable place for people to go, and being able to provide a little bit more of a positive experience and really kind of ease some of that anxiety that people typically have, is something that I find very rewarding.
Dr. Sean Bell grew up around dentistry in a small town in Central Pennsylvania, as both his father and an uncle were dentists. After moving to Pittsburgh to pursue his education, he found the people, friends, and opportunities here made it easy to call the area home. Dr. Bell not only fell in love with the city, but he met his beautiful wife, Erin, while living on Pitts campus. They now share a daughter, Margo, a son, Carry, and another daughter, Shiloh. They enjoy spoiling their children along with their dog, Remi.
Dr. Bell graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh with a BS in neuroscience. His undergraduate accomplishments earned him the Deans Scholarship award at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, where he graduated cum laude. Dr. Bell furthered his training by earning an Advanced Education in General Dentistry certificate from New York University. He is now a proud co-owner and partner of Oakmont Advanced Dentistry alongside Dr. Resek.
Dr. Bell values his patients comfort, satisfaction, and health above all else. He strives to create a positive patient experience while providing the highest standard of care. As a dentist, Dr. Bell hopes to help people feel as healthy, comfortable, and confident as possible.
I have wanted to be a dentist my entire life. I got interested in it at around the age of 12. My former partner, Doctor Nader, was my dentist for about 47 years, and I went to school with some of his kids and grew up around him, and I just always found his work fascinating, working with people, working with my hands, and I was just drawn to it. It was never like a lightning strike, where I had to be a dentist, just an interest that I always had, and stuck with it, and am fortunate to realize that dream.
Grew up, City College graduate, and went on to University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. Fantastic experience for me and a great dental school. I have done 1,300 hours' worth of continuing education after dental school. My motto is, I want to be better tomorrow than I was today, and that revolves around learning more. The more you learn, the more you can help patients, the more you can offer them. They have requests of things they'd like me to do, and always interested in being a lifelong student. Keeps the profession very interesting for me.
The dentistry becomes second nature, but just the relationships that I've formed with my patients and my staff, over the years, has been super rewarding. I love taking somebody. I have a review recently. For a couple years, we've been treating sleep apnea. I have sleep apnea. I had a guy write me a review and tell me that I saved his life, literally.
Dr. Todd. S. Resek met his beautiful wife, Jessica, when she was a dental hygiene student at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. He managed to convince her to come and work at the dental office in which he planned to practice. Married since 1999, the Reseks have three boys: Todd, Jack, and Sam. Jessica has moved on to a different career and is a gifted teacher at OHara Elementary in the Fox Chapel school district. Their eldest son, Todd Jr., is attending Temple University where he, too, is studying dentistry.
Dr. Resek is an avid outdoorsman and particularly enjoys hunting with his boys and teaching them about wildlife. Dr. Resek can be found year-round working out by playing baseball with his three sons. He has coached all of them at different times in their lives. Todd Jr. recently played for the Fox Chapel High School baseball team.
In both his personal and professional life, Dr. Todd Resek strives to be better today than yesterday and better tomorrow than today. He earned a degree in biology from Grove City College and his DMD from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. He has been practicing dentistry in Oakmont for 25-plus years and is honored to have received a prestigious fellowship from the Academy of General Dentistry. This fellowship is not granted to many dentists and is a rewarding achievement.
He was also voted by his peer dentists as one of Pittsburghs Top Dentists for nine years. Dr. Resek continues to take around a hundred hours of continuing education every year. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Pennsylvania Dental Association, and AK Dental Society.
He is committed to using the latest dental technology to offer his patients the best standard of care. Thanks to his mastery of CEREC CAD/CAM dentistry, he has obtained certification as a mentor at the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry and has taught dentists locally how to use the innovative method for creating same-day dental crowns and fillings.
After Dr. Resek was diagnosed with sleep apnea, he wanted to help others suffering from this uncomfortable, and potentially dangerous, condition. He learned to treat apnea and maintains a membership in the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, which educates its members on the most up-to-date methods for treating this sleep disorder.

Dr. Resek saved my smile not only once, but twice! My teeth were ruined once again after being in a major car accident and he was quick to schedule me and fix my smile back to being awesome like he had them before! The staff at this office are also very welcoming and some of the best people you can meet. I highly recommend this dentistry!

Cayla gives a fantastic, stress free clean, and Dr. Resek gives a thorough examination. Great with answering questions and removing any fears and anxieties. I couldn't say enough good things about my first experience at Oakmont Advanced Dentistry! Frank cleaned my teeth and I was very impressed by the knowledge and the thorough explanations of everything that was going on throughout the appointment. Dr. Bell was informative and educational on my dental health and made me feel really comfortable. Dr Resek is a positive and pleasant guy which makes going to the dentist easy. But the best thing about going to this practice is they have progressive equipment! I had a broken tooth and needed a cap. They make the cap while you wait and they even let you watch it being made! One appointment and a perfect fit. I highly recommend this dentist.

After my lifelong dentist recently retired, I dreaded having to find a new one. I was referred to Oakmont Advanced Dentistry by a family member and I was extremely pleased with my first visit! Cayla, the dental hygienist, was so pleasant and made me feel very comfortable. She really took her time to get to know me, addressed all of my concerns, and did a wonderful job cleaning my teeth. I then saw Dr. Bell who was very inviting and knowledgeable. I could not be happier with my choice of a new dentist!

I am so very happy with this Dentist and all of there staff ...I had called last Friday with a bad toothache Trish the girl I spoke to was kind with such a comforting voice...I arrive a hour later Amy also amazing and the Dentist Dr.Bell just amazing ...I had to come back on Monday and have a tooth pulled again Amazing and I do not like the dentist but this man was very gentle and carrying also Dot was a sweet woman ...I felt so comfortable in his chair ..so if anyone is scared of the Dentist this is your guy !! I would give you and staff 20 Stars...Thank you for being so nice !

I have been a patient at Oakmont Advanced Dentistry for a long time- probably 10+ years, and really like the practice. Today, I had the best hygienist I've ever had. Cayla was wonderful! She is kind, friendly, and so gentle. I typically gag when I have the x-rays done, and she is the first person to give me helpful hints to prevent it. And it worked! I highly recommend Cayla, and if I could give her over the five-stars rating, I would! I requested her for my next six-month appointment already. :-)

I had a crown made in under 2 hours! It was painless and simple. Dr. Bell and Dottie make a great team. Dr. Bell explained every step to me and listened to all my questions. He is very professional and caring.!
