Our goal at Oakdale Family Dental is to provide the best quality dental care in a friendly atmosphere. From your first visit, we will address your concerns in a gentle and considerate manner. Dr. Shim and his staff take pride in treating their dental patients with care and compassion. We take care of each and everyone of our patient as if they were our own family or friends and in turn we hope to build lasting relationships.

Dr. Shim graduated from the University of Georgia in 1997 with a degree in microbiology and continued his education to earn his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Medical College of Georgia in 2002.
His post doctoral training has included advanced sedation techniques, reconstructive and cosmetic dentistry, including botox. After working as an associate for a few years in the Atlanta area, he opened Oakdale Family Dental in 2006. Alongside working at his thriving office, Dr. Shim has also been an active member of the Georgia Dental Association, American Dental Association, The Hinman Dental Society, Pierre Fauchard Academy to name a few.
He has spearheaded the annual Give Kids A Smile program and has been recognized as Top Dentist and an Honorable Fellow for his community service. In his pare time, Dr. Shim enjoys Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, mountain biking, listening to music and spending time with his family.

Since I moved to GA, 4 years ago, I couldn't find a reliable dentist until I found Dr. Shim and his wonderful staff. Virtually no wait time, in and out for cleanings. Very professional, personable staff and fun, friendly atmosphere. I actually love getting my teeth cleaned anyway, but it's always a pleasant experience when the staff and dentist are so great - and respectful of my time too!

Oakdale Family Dental is hands down the best dentist our family has ever been to. We've been patients practically since the doors opened and we'll never go anywhere else. Most of our friends go here too. Dr. Shim is super friendly, gentle, and always takes a conservative approach to help maintain your own healthy teeth for as long as possible. Highly recommend.

The folks at Oakdale are professional from top to bottom. Excellent automation for reminders and etc. Super Clean office. My cleaner today was exceptionally precise and gentle...she rocked! Dr Shim is a cut above. Can't recommend them enough!
