Dr. Nathan Coughlin (our orthodontist) is proud to be new members of the McKinney community, and our team also features Dr. Manhvu Nguyen (an implant dentist), who can provide surgical implant placement and other specialty services as well in one convenient location. By being able to bring advanced treatment to you instead of the other way around, we hope to form relationships with children and adults alike that last for many years to come.
Dr. Nathan was born in Canada, and hes extremely passionate about helping patients enjoy smiles that are both beautiful and straight. His enthusiasm for orthodontics is contagious, and his strong work ethic will be sure to provide you with amazing, exceptional results!
As long as he can remember, Dr. Nathan has always excelled in his pursuits and enjoyed himself while doing so. He is a gifted scholar, a skilled athlete, and a great leader. In his college years, he was a star player on his basketball team, even earning the Academic All Canadian award twice.
After he graduated at the head of his class, Dr. Nathan attended graduate school at the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. Here, he met his wife, Dr. Christine Coughlin, for the first time! During this time, he spent plenty of time working in disadvantaged areas and third world countries like Honduras, providing necessary dental care to people in need. When he graduated from USC, he was presented with both the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Award and the Outstanding Orthodontic Achievement Award. He also took it upon himself to co-found the Student Professionalism and Ethics Club at USC. At this organization, students are able to freely discuss how to improve the moral values and ethics of dentistry.
Dr. Nguyen (also known as Vu by his friends) is a dentist who is focused first and foremost on his patients. He incorporates your specific desires and goals into a treatment plan that is one-of-a-kind, maximizing value without sacrificing any of the quality you deserve. He believes in treating every patient just like theyre a member of his family and establishing long-lasting friendships with them when possible through the power of patient education and preventive treatment. It always makes him satisfied to see a patient feeling comfortable and happy!
Dr. Nguyen was born and raised in Southern California. He chose to follow his passion for dentistry by attending the University of Southern California. After graduation, he moved to the Dallas area and began practicing here.
Today, Dr. Nguyen is highly dedicated to serving communities in need by participating in countless free clinics and programs that provide dental care to children during school hours. Whenever he has free time, he enjoys attending continuing education courses in dentistry, chasing his four fur babies (Dunkin, Coco, Ani, and Alex) all over the place, and embarking on plenty of adventures with his lovely wife Pamela.
