For me, dentistry is the perfect profession for two reasons: the people and the work. I love spending my days with so many amazing people. Some patients come to us with deep-set fears of dentistry from past experiences and I love surprising them by combining modern technology with a gentle nature, which delivers an experience that rebuilds their trust in the field.
As for the work aspect of dentistry, its an expansive profession that is always growing and changing. Every day brings a wide variety of new challenges and often times requires new solutions, as each patients needs are unique. I am grateful to be practicing dentistry at a time when there is so much effective, painless technology to help patients achieve optimal dental health!
Everybody has a story to tell. Getting to care for so many people with such amazing stories brings happiness and variety to every day. I am honored to have patients who trust me to help them achieve their dental goals and who allow me to be part of their lives.
Dentistry is a field where there are constant developments and its essential I stay on the leading edge of knowledge about materials, technologies, and processes in order to provide my patients with the best care options. Each year I participate in continuing education through the American Dental Association, Collier County Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, Spear Education, and other groups, by attendance at meetings, lectures, local continuums, local study groups, and seminars. I have studied many topics, including dental implants, digital and cosmetic dentistry, sleep apnea treatment, Invisalign orthodontic treatment, root canal therapy, and laser and periodontal therapy, to name a few.
Im a Naples native, returning to my hometown in 2009. I have two amazing kids- Jack (4) and Avery (2). Jack is following my footsteps as a student at St. Ann School, and Avery will start there when she reaches PK-3. I love being on and near the water, whether Im fishing, going after lobster, or scuba diving, and Jack has really taken to fishing as well. We take annual trips to the Smokey Mountains and Key Largo to be with family, and I stay very busy with the kids here in Naples otherwise.
I believe the most important aspect of dentistry is building relationships with my patients while providing exceptional dental care. I strive to treat each and every patient with a caring and understanding approach to improving their oral health. Being a dentist allows me to use my artistic abilities along with state-of-the-art equipment and technologies for the best possible results for my patients. I enjoy providing a wide range of preventative, restorative and cosmetic services.
I was born and raised in southeast Michigan. My husband, Steve, and I moved to Naples in 2015 to escape the cold weather. In 2016, we welcomed our twin children, Audrey and Spencer into the world. In 2020 we added baby Ada. I love being a mother and spending time with my family. When Im not working, you can find me riding my bike, walking my dog Olaf and playing outside with the kids.
Oak Tree Dentistry wouldnt exist today if not for Dr. Oivind Jensen and Phyllis Jensen. Dr. Jensen and Dr. Carr together built the practice in 2013, with office manager Phyllis truly leading the way. Our dentistry and our commitment to maintaining a green office are guided by their influence, and always will be.
Dr. Jensen is a native of Moss, Norway. He moved to the United States and was teaching advanced dentistry at Eastman Dental in Rochester when he met Phyllis, who was managing a dental program at the same University. They married then moved to Naples in 1990, opening their first Florida dental practice in North Naples. Dr. Jensen and Phyllis built a very successful practice on caring personal attention, great customer service, and commitment to high-quality dentistry.
In 2013, the opportunity to build a completely updated practice for the last few years of their careers arose, and they decided to move forward with what eventually took on the name of Oak Tree Dentistry. Dr. Jensen had always been an advocate for the environment, and decided to put considerable effort into building this practice a green, eco-friendly office space. Aspects of the flooring, the wall paint, the technology, the waterless vacuum system, an amalgam filtration system, limitation of disposables, and a fantastic recycling program made this the first certified (Eco-Dentistry Association) eco-friendly office in Naples! In addition, Phylliss love for Art Deco really comes out in our office architecture, and her opportunity to paint in ways that bring out the form makes it one-of-a-kind.
Dr. Jensen retired from dentistry at the end of 2016. Today you can find him playing guitar in his band, writing short stories and memoirs, birding, and traveling. Phyllis served as office manager (the brains behind the operation) until January 2020, and will continue to be just a phone call away as she gets her first true taste of retirement. Phyllis has always been the biggest personality in the office, providing a spunk and a sense of humor the rest of us look up to. Well certainly be pulling her back as a consultant as often as shell allow us to.
Our dedicated and exceptional dental team was selected on the basis of a strong clinical background, extensive experience in all areas of dentistry, and exceptional interpersonal skills. Their commitment to excellence in patient care is evident to everyone who has chosen this office as their dental home. The entire team combine care and compassion with knowledge and professionalism in giving their patients a 'wow' experience at every visit. I am so happy I found this dental office. The office is very clean and the staff is excellent. They take their time and make sure you know exactly what they are doing. During my examination the dentist explained all of my x-rays and described issues in detail. The hygienist was also great and made an uncomfortable procedure mostly pleasant.

I have gone to Oak Tree Dentistry for years, and have never had a concern about the care I received from them. Their staff is friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I am well aware of what safe practices need to be "in the time of Covid" and during a recent visit, their staff and patient rooms exceeded my expectations by far. They have always answered questions about the care I was receiving directly and clearly. See them with confidence!

They are great and very professional. Jade is an awesome hygienist and very friendly. Dr. Frey is very thorough and caring. They know what they're doing for sure! Any pain or discomfort is kept to a minimum thanks to them. Everyone is great including the ladies at the front desk.

I am ultra conservative when it comes to leaving my home during the pandemic. The procedures and equipment Oak Tree Dentistry has implemented took any and all my fear away. Jade is a great hygienist and my favorite is Michelle at the desk! Dr. Frey is awesome too.

We were hesitant to search for a new dentist after moving to Naples. I read some online reviews and took a chance on Oak Tree Dentistry. We couldn't be happier with our decision. Dr Carr and Dr Frey are both outstanding!! Dental hygienist, Jade, was through , professional and gentle. I would highly recommend this practice for all your dental needs!!

I had a great appointment here with Dr. Frey and Jade. Everyone here is so nice and they took great care of me! They were very informative and helped me learn a lot about my teeth. I was also impressed with their protocols for covid-19 which made me feel safe and secure. I will definitely be going here from now on!

I highly recommend Oak Tree Dentistry. Dr. Carr is an excellent dentist. The hygienist, Jade, does a great job. The clinical staff and the front desk staff are always friendly and helpful. I was concerned about visiting the office for my 6 month check up/cleaning due to Covid-19. However, after learning about the office protocol, I was reassured. At my appointment, I was comfortable with the precautions and impressed with the attention to detail for patient safety. I have lived in many cities and this dental office is the best I have experienced.

I can't say enough good things about my hygienist Adrianna. She's very informative when I have any questions and has always done a fantastic job on my mouth ! I have been using the services of Dr. Carr and his hygienist, Adrianna, for almost 3 years now. Each time I go, I find the staff to be just wonderful, from the front desk through to those who are providing my dental care. Adrianna's work on cleaning my teeth and helping me with my gum issues is both thorough and delivered with the utmost patience. She does not rush and she is always showing her care for the patient's comfort. Dr. Carr is one of those rare dentists who takes the time to explain things in lay person terms and offer you solid care and options for keeping your teeth healthy. Having moved a lot in my life and experienced several dental professionals, I can easily say that Dr. Carr and the team at Oak Tree are one of the best out there.
