An interest in health has been a part of Dr. Shehadehs life since the beginning. Her parents are the owners of a small health food store in San Francisco, and has been since the 1990s- well before healthy foods were a trendy part of everyday living.

It was that love of health and using her hands to create that brought her to the University of the Pacific, where she studied to become a dentist. There, she discovered she wanted to put an emphasis on working with children. She attended a General Practice Residency that gave her the opportunity to gain valuable experiences treating children, medically compromised patients and those with special needs. Dr. Shehadeh focuses on helping kids and all her patients overcome their fears of the dentist by establishing a connection and trust to put them at ease.

During her residency in Brooklyn, NY, Dr. Shehadeh made sure to volunteer whenever she could, including providing oral hygiene instruction to children in public schools in NYC. Dr. Shehadeh has also provided dental care to the underserved population of Montego Bay in Jamaica. It was during those volunteer trips that Dr. Shehadeh discovered how much she loved dentistry and the connections/relationships she makes with patients.

Prior to moving to Sebastopol, Dr. Shehadeh worked as a dentist at Facebook, where she served Facebooks employees general dentistry needs and also focused on orthodontic treatment with clear aligners. She operated a mobile dental unit as well as a brick and mortar location on Facebooks campus. During her time there, she became known as the singing dentist because of her habit of humming and singing as she went about her work. Patients appreciated her offices fun and upbeat environment.

Since arriving in Sebastopol, Dr. Shehadeh has enjoyed everyday interactions in the community-minded town. She enjoys the towns friendly and welcoming residents and the relaxed pace of life. She loves treating patients of all ages and has still been known to hum and sing on occasion while treating patients : )

When she has free time, Dr. Shehadeh is often tending her succulent garden, painting, drawing or making jewelry- a particular love of hers that helps her have an outlet for her creative side. She also enjoys being in the outdoors, hiking, going to the beach, and visiting museums with her husband and partner, Dr. Anthony Grados, and their miniature labradoodle, Jax.

Dr. Grados graduated from the NYU College of Dentistry in 2014 with honors in endodontics. While in college, he studied in an advanced program that gave him access to more complicated training techniques to help make him a more capable dentist. He also used his skills as a volunteer throughout his time in college, taking mission trips to northern Maine and to the Dominican Republic to provide free dental care to those in need.

Dr. Grados goal for each patient is a smile that he can perfect a little more each time they visit his practice. He enjoys the challenge of practicing dentistry and the connection hes able to form with each and every patient.

Dr. Grados wasnt always a dentist. In fact, his first career was in engineering where he worked on U.S. Navy submarines. But something always tugged at him when he would think about what his dream career might be. When Dr. Grados was a child, he was plagued with bad teeth. He was treated by a dentist who focused on making sure he was comfortable, and took away the fear of having dental work done. It was that experience that eventually brought Dr. Grados to NYU to study dentistry. He wanted to help people understand that dental visits didnt have to be frightening. When developing his own practice, Dr. Grados knew in order to do that, he would have to connect with his patients and make sure they were at ease through comfort and understanding of every procedure.

When Dr. Grados isnt in the office working with patients, he can often be found enjoying the outdoors by riding his motorcycle or mountain biking, or just enjoying the beach and swimming with his wife and partner, Dr. Karimeh Shehadeh, and their miniature labradoodle Jax.

Dr. Anthony Grados and Dr. Karimeh Shehadeh are a husband and wife team dedicated to making Sebastopol smile. After Dr. Grados completed dentistry school at NYU and Dr. Shehadeh completed dentistry school at University of the Pacific, the two met during residency in Brooklyn and married a few years later.

After moving back to California, the two fell in love with Sebastopol and purchased their dental practice. As new Sebastopol residents, theyre looking forward to enjoying the areas relaxed pace of life, providing great dental care and forming long-lasting relationships with their patients as they become part of the community.
