Dr. Daniel Vasquez Balderrama has been in private practice since June of 2004. He was born and raised in Carlsbad, N.M & earned his Bachelors of Science in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry, from New Mexico State University. He attended Marquette University School of Dentistry where he earned a Doctorate of Dental Surgery in May of 2004. Dr. Balderrama finished in the top 15% of his class while maintaining a mix of family life, work, study & volunteer efforts.
Dr. Balderrama has been an active member of organized dentistry & advocate for patient care throughout his career with memberships in American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association & East Texas Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, Land O Pines study club & Academy of Operative Dentistry (an internationally recognized organization that holds its annual meeting here in Chicago every February). Dr. Balderrama holds the distinction of becoming a fellow of the International Dental Implant Association, an organization committed to achieving excellence in implant dentistry through rigorous education & training of its members. Lastly, Dr. Balderrama is a member of Occlusion Design, a dental training center that focuses on education & training of the dental practitioner in the treatment planning & delivery of complex restorative/cosmetic dentistry & full mouth rehabilitations. Dr. Balderrama served on the board of the East Texas Dental Society for three consecutive years. He was twice elected as the East Texas Dental Societys nominee for the New Dentist Achievement Award, by his colleagues/peers in the TDA component society. Dr. Balderrama has participated & continues to participate in volunteer efforts such as the Texas Mission of Mercy program, Give Kids a Smile Day, Alpine Church of Christ Dental Clinic, Mission Marshall, Highway 80 Rescue Mission, & David Crockett Elementary Career Day, to name a few.
Dr. Balderrama has been happily married to his wife since January of 1998 with whom he has a daughter, who he is extraordinarily proud of. He loves spending time with his family, watching movies, supporting the Chicago Cubs, reading, fishing, visiting museums & zoos, & traveling throughout the United States. Recently he & his family have moved to the Chicagoland area, fulfilling his dream of being in the heart of organized dentistry & home of the Chicago Cubs. He & his family are overjoyed with the move & are looking forward to serving the good people of Illinois. Dr. Balderrama believes that it is essential for health care professionals to practice what they preach & to continually attempt to achieve optimal overall health. Therefore, Dr. Balderrama enjoys a constant mix of weight & cardiovascular training. Finally, Dr. Balderrama loves the practice of dentistry & serving the people who entrust him with not only their care, but with that of their friends & loved ones as well.
I am the first smiling face that you see when you walk in. In 2016, I graduated from Aurora University with a bachelors degree in Psychology & a minor in History. For the past 2 years I have been working in the dental industry & I absolutely love it. Outside of the office, I am very active in my community. Theatre is my passion; from acting, directing & singing, you will always find me on stage. I also enjoy spending time with my family & friends, cooking, reading & karaoke. I began my career in the dental field as a Dental Assistant. I had the privilege of building trusting relationships with patients and over time my passion for prevention grew. This passion served as the catalyst for wishing to further my education in becoming a Registered Dental Hygienist. In 2010, I realized my dream by earning a degree in Dental Hygiene from Rock Valley College. I thoroughly enjoy providing gentle & thorough dental care while educating and encouraging patients to practice and maintain good oral health habits. Through the love of my career, I feel that I am perfectly positioned to make a substantial contribution to peoples lives within our community. I am looking forward to using my gift with compassion to help you obtain and keep a healthy beautiful smile throughout a lifetime.
I graduated from Harper College in 1975 & have been in private practice ever since. Through the years I have compiled extensive knowledge in all aspects of general dentistry. Working with my father, whom was a dentist, Dr. Chroust & now Dr. Balderrama, has allowed me to gain unique & ever changing insight into all aspects of patient care. I am passionate about dentistry & continue to grow with the times. I find that this enables me to continually provide our patients with the best dentistry has to offer. Education & promotion of good oral health are my passion. Patient care, individual need, & comfort are my top priorities. I am married to my childhood sweetheart of 41 years, have two grown boys, a daughter-in-law, & 3 year old grandson, whom I adore. In my free time I enjoy gardening, ornithology & sunshine.
I earned my Dental Assisting certificate from Waubonsee Community College & joined Dr. Balderrama in 2017 when he arrived from Texas. I assist Dr. Balderrama on a daily basis by remaining chair side during rendering of all clinical treatment in addition to placing patients at ease and facilitating all aspects of patient care. I am an outgoing, friendly, person who cares dearly for all our patients. I love dentistry & being able to interact & develop relationships with all the good people of North Aurora & the Chicagoland area. I have two children & enjoy spending time with my family. In addition, I love going to the movies. Overall I pride myself on being a sincere & caring person who strives to develop great relationships with everyone with whom I come in contact. I have a strong work ethic & have always believed in treating others how I would want to be treated. I am Bilingual speaking both Spanish & English, which allows me to effectively communicate with & help a broader patient base. I look forward to meeting you & helping in any way I can.

I have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Balderrama, Elba, and the entire Oak Street Staff. My whole life I have been afraid of going to the dentist and dreaded even basic cleanings. Elba is extremely gentle, understanding, patient, and personable. It is clear, from the second you walk in, the service is different than other places. They go above and beyond-making sure you are comfortable and well taken care of. Dr. Balderrama was a hero after a long weekend of unbearable tooth nerve pain my stubborn husband finally agreed to letting me call. Dr. Balderrama not only answered after hours, but was able to successfully ease his nerve pain. I am confident Dr. Balderrama's precision and expertise will fix my husband's prior sub-par dental care. I would recommend Oak Street Dental especially to anyone who suffers from dental/medical anxiety, or has been burned by previous dentists in the past.

Customers beware: The services that are provided here are a bait and switch. They offer you a price on something and after it's done give you a different price. I paid what we agreed to and then they came back with an invoice on the balance. I refuse to pay for additional items not agreed upon originally. They then sold my information to a collections agency. Do not use this dental office shady business practices will never get any business ahead in todays day and age. I now have a collection agency harassing me even though he's completely written it off on his taxes. The doctor is a nice guy but don't let that fool you.

My friend today was a wonderful day for me I really enjoy going to this dentist to staff with Curtis Kane well spoken for and they even make me laugh they are the best stuff I've seen in a long time they make a great group and I'm not even going to talk to you about my doctor she's in a category all by herself thank you team I'm making me happy today

While visiting my daughter and son-in-law and grand in North Aurora I broke part of my tooth. My daughter told me to call Oak Street Dental. I took her advice. What a BLESSING! I was greeted by Tracy on the phone. I begin to explain to her what had happened. I told her I had dental insurance but didn't bring it with me. I told her my info. She said she would call me back to let me know if she could locate my information. Well she did call me back and got the ball rolling. She was able to get me in the next day! With me living in Virginia all my life I was nervous about change. I was greeted by Olivia and than Dr Balderama. I was truly amazed! The entire care that was given me was beyond words! The cleanliness of this office was spotless. Dr Balderama took his time and put a partial crown and asked Tracy to rush the permanent on ASAP due to me leaving to return home. Let me mind you all this happened on Feb 24 2021 and was finished March 9,2021. This Doctor is a perfectionist. My crown was put on with perfection. It blended with the rest of my teeth! It is so prefect I am traveling from Virginia this summer to get 3 more done. I wasn't asked to write this. I received a blessing from God when I went to Oak Street Dental. I know when someone loves their job. Dr. Balderama and his staff cares about their patients and they are an awesome team. They make you feel welcome when you enter their office! Thank you Oak Street Dental! They really take excellent care of their patients! Dr B is wonderful. He made sure I understood every step in my treatment. I have a bit of anxiety over dentists, but at Oak Street Dental, I was completely at ease! Olivia was warm and kind. I was instantly comfortable with her. Elba did my cleaning and she is excellent! Her patience with me was much appreciated.

Back in Fall 2020 I was having my two front teeth repaired by Dr. Balderrama and the power went out to his building mid-appointment, pretty much as soon as he got the old material removed. Oh no! He seamlessly stayed the course and repaired my teeth flawlessly using only his headlamp and the help of his awesome assistant. Amazing dentists are hard to find! Dr. Balderrama and his staff are highly recommended to all my family and friends. They are simply the best in oral healthcare!

He and his staff provide QUALITY dental care - with true INTEGRITY. Dr Balderrama is incredibly knowledgeable, thoughtful and engaging. He offers all the latest technology in dental medicine, at much more reasonable cost to the patient. No more waiting months for rushed appointments from inexperienced staff, or dealing with overcharges for services not rendered or needed. By far the best dentist out here hands down! I started going with him roughly a year and half ago and never look back. From the moment you walk in you feel a sense of comfort. The atmosphere in there it's just phenomenal can't compare it like no other. The assistants in there make you feel like your family taking care of you throughout your whole process. Now let's talk about Dr.Balderrama in all my 28 years of life I have NEVER EVER meet a dentist like him. It's almost like god send him himself specifically to do dentistry. I've gone threw a hand full of dentist won't mention names but none come even close to satisfaction you get with Dr.Balderrama , from the numbing,pulling,filling and cleaning he does it all while making sure your in NO PAIN at all. I've always hated the dentist but after finding him and his team im actually glad to say I can't wait to go back.

I have been going to this practice since I was a child and have had great experiences. While the dentists are great (first Dr. Chroust and now Dr. Balderrama), the dental hygienist Janice is the reason I go to this practice. She is a very caring person with exceptional knowledge and a true passion for dentistry. She is gentle yet thorough and the advice she has given me over the years has helped my dental health tremendously. My insurance switched in the past couple of years and no longer fully covers my preventative screenings at this office, but I will happily pay the extra money so I can receive care from Janice. If you're thinking about booking an appointment, ask for Janice!
