Dr. Olsen began his dental career in 1985 in northern Utah. He completed his undergraduate studies at Utah State University prior to receiving his degree of Doctorate of Dental Science from Northwestern University.
After visiting his sister in Davidson, he fell in love with the area. He thought this would be a great place to start a new practice. So, in 2005, he and his lovely wife, Missy moved to Huntersville to begin another chapter of their life.
He is an active member of The American Dental Association and The North Carolina Dental Association. His membership in these organizations, as well as his completion of several advanced cosmetic dentistry courses, has allowed him to remain current on the most beneficial and cutting edge dental treatments.
Dr. Olsen is well known by his patients for being a kind and considerate dentist. He cares for them with respect for their individual needs and concerns. Throughout his 35 years in the dental field, Dr. Olsen has developed a reputation for paying close attention to detail and providing patients with the highest quality care. His gentle and calm disposition ensures patients have an excellent experience when they visit the dental office.
Dr. Alexander W. Allred, DMD joined the Oak Ridge Dental Arts Team in June, 2014. He graduated from Brigham Young University in Provo, UT with a bachelor's degree in Biology. He then earned the degree of Doctor of Dental Medicine from Midwestern University School of Dental Medicine in Glendale, Arizona. Dr. Allred is trained to use state-of-the-art technologies, materials, and clinically-proven techniques. He is also fluent in the Spanish language.
Dr. Allred lives with his family in Huntersville, NC. He and his wife, Bridget, have been married for 10 years and have two kids, an 8-year-old daughter and a 6-year-old son. The newest member of the Allred family is Maggie the cat who has brought a lot of love and excitement into the home. In addition to spending time with family and cooking interesting foods, Dr. Allred enjoys playing disc golf, cycling, tennis, football and hiking. He also loves music. He enjoys listening to music, playing music and producing music.
As a member of the American Dental Association and the North Carolina Dental Society, Dr. Allred believes strongly in practicing according to current research and evidence-based dentistry. He also values the opportunity to build a relationship with his patients and the trust that they place in him. He emphasizes listening to his patients needs and having a gentle chairside manner.
Dr. Pavana Karanth, DDS joined the Oak Ridge Dental Arts Team in November 2017. Dr. Karanth grew up in India where she obtained a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree and then went on to complete a Master of Dental Surgery residency in Operative Dentistry and Endodontics. She moved to the United States in 2009 and obtained a DDS degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Texas.
Dr. Karanths first home in the United States was in Durham, North Carolina. She fell in love with North Carolina for its charm, the people and their hospitality as well as the great food. That is why she decided to return here upon graduating from dental school. She moved to Charlotte, North Carolina in 2012 and has been practicing dentistry in the area since then. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Karanth enjoys spending time with her family, especially with her sons. She also enjoys watching dramas on television and her favorite show is Law and Order. She likes to run, take long walks with her dog, cook, dine out with friends and family, shop and travel.
Dr. Karanth has a keen interest in family and cosmetic dentistry and is certified to provide Invisalign for her patients. Her clinical interests include restorative dentistry such as tooth colored fillings, bondings, crowns, bridges, veneers and implant restorations as well as root canal treatments. Dr. Karanth is a believer in lifelong learning and enjoys keeping updated on the latest in the science and technology of dentistry. She loves dentistry because she enjoys creating beautiful and healthy smiles and getting to know her patients and their families. Dr. Karanth is excited to join the Oak Ridge Dental Arts Team and looks forward to meeting you and taking care of all your dental needs!
Dr. Cameron S. Kmetzsch, DMD joined the Oak Ridge Dental Arts Team in June, 2015. He was born and raised near Salt Lake City, Utah, in the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains. Living near the mountains gave him a love of the outdoors and sparked his interest in the biological sciences. He attended Brigham Young University and graduated with a bachelors degree in Integrative Biology. He then chose to attend Midwestern Universitys School of Dental Medicine in Glendale, Arizona. Dr. Kmetzsch has continued expanding his education in dental implants, Invisalign orthodontics, dental imaging, and many more areas of dentistry.
Dr. Kmetzsch considers himself a well-rounded person who enjoys a little bit of everything. From playing basketball, skateboarding or fishing to building computers, playing video games, or gardening; he likes to do it all. He currently resides in Mooresville with his wife Kate, their 9 year old son and 6 year old daughter.
Dr. Kmetzsch has a love of dentistry and is a member of the American Dental Association and the North Carolina Dental Society. He believes strongly in prevention and using clinical and research based techniques. He is known for his kind and caring demeanor and his eye for aesthetics. He connects well with children and strives to be a dentist that his family would enjoy visiting.

Absolutely LOVE Dr. K and staff!!! Extremely genial, professional, and top notch in their services rendered to me. I HIGHLY recommend this practice and am SO HAPPY I stayed on after Dr. Schmidke retired!!! Part Two!!! STILL SUPER PLEASED with the level of care I receive at Oak Ridge Dental Arts!! Dr. Allred is AWESOME!! VERY SMART and EXTREMELY CONSCIENTIOUS...does beautiful dental work. And Amanda, my hygienist, is a GEM! Very thorough and great conversationalist!! ALWAYS a pleasure!!!

I normally do everything I can to avoid the dentist but my tooth was killing me. The friendly staff saw me quickly and fixed my tooth and it was painless. They also did a fabulous job cleaning my teeth and I will say I will be going back regularly. Thank you again for the GREAT work and being so friendly.

Instead of removing the crown like I requested that I've had since 2008, since it was deteriorating and getting decay underneath a ridge aside the crowned tooth, you decided that was "too hard to do" even though they sell pliers for that purpose on Amazon, and I'm sure most dentists are able to take out old crowns quite easily. Instead, you gave me a root canal that hurt horribly for months afterwords. Guess you missed a nerve there. You didn't solve the problem. You did nothing to plug the root canal and further weakened my tooth's structure. Why did your dental assistant make me take my own X-rays with an x-ray gun, 10 times, repeatedly exposing my hands and arms in unsafe triangulation of the gun per the manufacturer s own website? And hey guys definitely not the wrong office I mean I bet you wish but not. Try improving with constructive criticism for your other customers.

Came in to get my teeth cleaned and usually I get so nervous because my teeth are super sensitive but the hygienist, Amanda, did such an awesome job and made me feel so calm. I can honestly say this is the best cleaning I have ever had...I didn't feel a thing!!! Then I had 2 teeth filled by both the dentist there- Dr Allred and Dr Kmetzsch. They did an amazing job and I was so surprised how quick I was in and out!!! The dentists were very nice and explained everything so that I could understand it. Overall, I would highly recommend Oak Ridge Dental Arts. Definitely the best dental office around!!!!

I just love this office!! Every single time I walk in I'm greeted with such warm smiles & it makes me feel genuinely cared for as a patient. From check-in to check-out they are awesome!! My hygienist Amanda was amazing!! My teeth have never felt cleaner & I had so much fun chatting with her throughout my appt. Dr. Kmetzsch is truly the best too!! And the office manager Tracy is the sweetest ever!! I can't wait for my next appt. to see everyone again!!

Started at oak ridge dental Arts in Huntersville right before the pandemic. The office and all the staff have adapted readily to all the procedures to keep patients and staff safe. Every dental hygienist I've seen has been friendly, professional and very gentle in their thorough cleaning. Dr. Allred...is very thorough. Going to dentist here is stress-free!

Oak Ridge is one of the best dental offices anywhere around the Lake Norman area. Amanda is super sweet and helpful and won't make you feel terrible if you aren't the most "consistent" flosser in the world. Both Drs. Allred and Kmetzsch are very honest and straight forward and don't exaggerate what you need just to make more money. It is definitely a relief to find a dental office with integrity.

Awesome experience!!! Dr Allred and Dr Kmetzsch are super nice and explain everything so clearly. My kids absolutely love the dentists. My daughter Lorelai, just had a tooth pulled and she was very nervous...the assistant- Yasmin held her hand the whole time and was so patient and kind!! I highly recommend Oak Ridge Dental Arts, it is a wonderful place for the whole family. The staff are all so friendly and always make your visit pleasant and stress-free.
