My mission is to make sure my patients feel as comfortable as possible and to provide them with the best quality care. I believe compassion and empathy are integral aspects of being a dentist, and I try to put myself in my patients shoes to help determine the best course of action to address their concerns.
Dr. Akbar is Laser certified and an Invisalign certified Gold provider. He is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, Heartland Dental's 2021 Presidents Club, and the Southern Nevada Dental Society.

Oak Leaf family dental is the best dental office I have ever went to. The front Desk people are courteous, the hygienist are very thorough and professional and the Doctor her self was so caring and I can feel that she was truly concerned and very thorough and cared about my concerns and needs. They took their time and was not in a rush which most doctors office are nowadays. Even the young lady that check for my insurance was so professional and thorough. All my questions were answered and all my needs were taken care of. I'm so glad I chose them for my dental needs and will recommend them to anyone.

Went to have a broken tooth fixed, I have never been treated better, everyone from the front desk, hygienist, and Doctor were fantastic! I will be returning to this office. Highly recommend UPDATE....my husband and I went back to this dentist for cleaning....husband needed deep cleaning (Which we knew) I just normal cleaning. I was told 2 of my teeth needed deep cleaning, I said no, just normal cleaning Thank you! We'll even after 5 to 6 times saying no, hygienist was not going to accept my answer...(Yes I know I should have walked out at this moment) had 2 teeth deep cleaned, rest of my teeth were rushed thur, no polish or nothing! We were told husband has plenty of insurance, but still received additional bills months later.....I had to paid $$$ which I did!! X-rays we're taken before needed, questioned it, their response is Sorry another $100+ Today another $124 for my husband who had plenty of insurance Out of pocket estimated, way off! Different answer each time I call

I went to Oak Leaf because they had the best ratings in the area and they were incredibly nice. I trusted them when they gave me an estimate on a surgery I wasn't so sure I wanted to do due to the cost. After receiving the estimate, I decided to do the surgery just to find out later that the estimate they gave me was off by ~35-40% of the cost of the entire surgery and ultimately I got stuck with the bill because they gave me an "estimate". I simply would not have gotten the surgery if I had known the true cost. Essentially: Patient beware.

Editing my review, I sent them my new insurance before I was having my upcoming cleaning and was told I was in network. Then after my cleaning I'm stuck with a $100 bill saying that I am out of network. I was told that is was because my specific plan with my insurance company isn't in netowrk, but that is something I should have been told before hand because if that was the case, I would have never gone in. So far they have not refunded me for this incident and I am waiting to hear back from a higher up at Oak Leaf. The establishment used to be my go to dentist, but they have lost all credibility with me.

I've always been one to hate the dentist, but I love this place ! Facility is clean, staff is extremely friendly and great at communication. I would recommend Oak Leaf Family Dental to all ages!
