I completed my bachelors degree in Biology and Secondary Education in 1999 at Taylor University in Upland, IN. I taught high school science in Anderson, IN for four years prior to admission to dental school. I completed my Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2007 at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry in Detroit, MI.
I spent the first eight years of my career practicing in Southwest Michigan. Since then, Ive called Northeast Wisconsin home. Ive had a variety of experiences from working in private and group practices as an associate dentist, working in a Federally Qualified Health Center as a general dentist, and owning my own dental practice.
I have taken a wide range of continuing education, most notably in the areas of oral surgery, implant dentistry, removable prosthodontics, and restorative dentistry. I believe these areas are important as they improve my skills in procedures that are common to the everyday practice of dentistry, as well as the future of dental practice. I believe CE is important and participate as much as I can because dentistry is an ever-changing profession. Its important to continue to learn and grow as a professional for the benefit and well-being of my practice and patients.
In some of my free time, I am involved in organized dentistry through the Pierre Fauchard Academy, Outagamie County Dental Society, Wisconsin Dental Association (WDA), and the American Dental Association (ADA). Currently, I serve on the Board of Trustees for the WDA and previously held a position on the ADA New Dentist Committee and was president of my local society in Michigan.
Dentistry is a very technical profession. It can be isolating and difficult as the public perception of dentistry can sometimes be encapsulated in the statement, I hate the dentist. One of the ways this is combated is with a great team, and the team at Oak Grove Dentistry is fantastic! Everyone is upbeat, conversational, and looking to do their best for each patient who walks in our doors.
I grew up in Battle Creek, MI a city famous for its cereal manufacturers. Each summer, I had the opportunity to eat at the Worlds Longest Breakfast Table and collect the various cereal box trinkets from Kelloggs and Post. Believe it or not, at various times during the year, the air would smell of baking cereal or cookies as Kelloggs, Post, or Archway would be baking their products.
Now living in Northeast Wisconsin, I spend much of my personal time at home with my wife and three daughters. My girls are busy with school and music programs. Needless to say, there are few dull moments in our household.
Some other passions of mine are Detroit sports, reading fiction and theology, music (I have an eclectic taste from David Phelps, Michael Bubl, and Josh Groban to Queen, Chicago, Imagine Dragons, and Aerosmith, to Beethoven and Dvorak), perfecting my homemade pizza recipe, and watching movies, especially the superhero and fantasy genres.
I care about each patient. The practice has served the community for more than 30 years and has a great reputation for personalized, family-friendly care. Ive been part of the dental field since 2006 and joined the Oak Grove team in 2016. Our office feels like a big family, and our patients are a big part of that!
As our office manager, I handle a range of administrative tasks, all focused on making sure we run efficiently and smoothly. We want our patients to have positive, pleasant, and stress-free visits, and for people to know were here to help, whatever they need.
My time off is spent with my husband, our two daughters and our son. We also have a lovable Labradoodle, Bailey. Our family enjoys biking, boating, skiing, walks in the park, and pretty much anything outdoors. We spend as many weekends as possible at our family cottage in Crivitz.
I get excited every day to meet new people and learn all about them. During visits, I ensure that patients are comfortable in the chair and prepare them to see their doctor. I then work alongside the doctor during procedures.
I graduated from the dental assisting program at NWTC in 2011 and joined Oak Grove Dentistry in 2018. I work hard to make sure our patients are happy when they leave and enjoy building a relationship with them while theyre here.
Green Bay is my hometown, and I live here with my son, Maverick, who is my world. We love being outside in the summer, especially going to the park and swimming. We also enjoy taking our chocolate lab Lucy for walks.
I love getting to know patients. Its a great feeling to help each person develop a healthier smile and, at the same time, build a real connection with them. Ive been here since 2000 and love that we care for people of all ages:providing dental care that keeps them loving their smiles!
I take X-rays, administer local anesthesia, and provide painless, detailed cleanings as well as preventive care. Working closely with each patient, I help everyoneunderstand their oral health and how thats connected to overall wellness. Together we develop strategies to develop healthy habits and improve their home oral hygiene care.
I like building personal relationships with patients. Helping people understand the connection between oral and overall health, and supporting them in improving both, is rewarding. I started working in the field in 1998 and joined our team in 2012.I love being part of a family-friendly practice!
I offer thorough, gentle dental cleanings, examine each patients mouth for signs of disease, and update themedical records. A lot of my day is spent educating patients:teaching them the best ways to keep their mouth healthy and smile looking its best.
I began my role as a dental hygienist in 1999 after dabbling a little as an assistant, receptionist, and file clerk as early as 1992. I found my home at Oak Grove Dentistry in 2017 and love it here! I help patients with their oral health needs through education, cleanings, and X-rays. I concentrate a lot on helping patients understand how their oral health and the rest of their body are connected. Most importantly, I want my patients to enjoy coming to the dentist!
I enjoy getting to know our patients and being part of their dental care team. Its important for people to understand why and how to care for their smiles and to know we have their best interests at heart. Ive been part of the practice for more than 20 years and love that we care for multiple generations, from children through great-grandparents!
I bring patients into the clinic, make sure theyre comfortable in the chair, and explain what well be doing. I stay by their side during the procedure, to assistDr. Edwards while making sure our patient is relaxed and comfy. When were done, I provide home care instructions and answer questions.
I earned my Associates degree in dental assisting in 2012 and joined Oak Grove Dentistry in 2018. I assist Dr. Childs in various procedures, make sure my room is ready for the doctor, and make my patients feel at home and comfortable.
Outside of work, my son Carson is involved in many sports that keep my husband Brock and I busy. As a family, we enjoy being outside in the summer, ice fishing, hunting, and spending time with our three Labradors!
