Dr. Speer was born and raised in the Portland area. He received his undergraduate degree in General Science from Oregon State University, then moved to Cleveland, OH where he earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Case Western Reserve University. He has practiced dentistry in the Portland area since 2004 and became the owner of Oak Grove Dental Center in 2012. Dr. Speer prides himself on excellence in all aspects of dentistry. He stays up to date on the latest technologies by attending many continuing education courses throughout the year. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Oregon Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Speer has received specialized training in implant placement, as well as Botox injections for cosmetic and therapeutic purposes. In his free-time, Dr. Speer enjoys playing golf, riding dirt bikes, and spending time with his wife, Stacie, and their three children, Zach, Andy, and Izzie.
***In November 2020, Dr. Speer and his family moved to Eastern Washington. He maintains ownership of Oak Grove Dental and returns to Portland to see patients every second Wednesday and Thursday of the month.
Dr. Achatz is a lifelong Oregonian. He grew up in Happy Valley and attended Eastern Oregon University. After completing his undergraduate studies, he earned his Doctorate at OHSU School of Dentistry in 2018. Dr. Achatz is skilled in all aspects of general dentistry, and is continuously expanding upon his knowledge through continuing education courses. In his free time, you can find him at the gym or on the golf course.
Sayra joined our team in October of 2016. She was born and raised here in Oregon and graduated from Gresham High School. Sayra received her degree in Dental Hygiene from Oregon Institute of Technology in 2014. When shes not busy making our patients teeth sparkle, Sayra enjoys spending time with her three children and her husband, Rory.
Desi has worked at Oak Grove Dental Center for over 15 years, and is Dr. Speers right hand here at the office. Her thoroughness and ability to multi-task keep the office running on all cylinders, even on the busiest of days. In her free-time, Desi enjoys shopping or spending time with her husband, Brandon, and their twin boys, Levi and Hudson.
Stacie has worked in the dental field since 2009. Having both a clinical and front office background, she is willing and able to help out wherever she is needed. Stacie does everything from marketing and payroll, to scheduling and insurance billing. While you may catch her popping into the office on occasion, she is now stationed to work mostly from home. In her free time, Stacie enjoys weight training, traveling, and spending time with Dr. Speer and their three children.
Collette originally joined our team in 2015, but moved back to North Carolina to be closer to friends and family in 2019. In November 2020, she rejoined our team to work remotely! Collette is always looking for ways to go above and beyond for the people she works with, and loves going the extra mile to give patients the time and attention to detail they deserve. When she isnt working, you can find her going on walks, playing video games, or spending time with her friends. She also loves baking, traveling, and will talk to you about dogs all day!

We even have Netflix available to entertain your children, if needed, during your visit. We have neck pillows, noise cancelling headphones, and blankets available for use during your dental procedure.
