Born and raised in Honolulu and a graduate of Punahou school, Dr. Jason Ching pursued his dream to be a student athlete at Brown University, followed by dental training at the University of Pacific, and certification in pediatric dentistry at Tufts University. Dr. Jason and his highly skilled team at Oahu Pediatric Dentistry believe in providing safe and comfortable clinical experiences.
Dr. Jason is one of the few pediatric dentists in Hawaii who are trained in the first FDA-approved hard/soft tissue Solea dental laser. Utilizing the Solea dental laser eliminates the need for anesthetic shots, and the use of a drill for children with severe dental anxiety. Combined with his specialized training in laser soft tissue surgery, Dr. Jason treats congenital abnormalities such as Lip Tie and Tongue Tie to help children with impaired breastfeeding as well as compromised speech.
Dr. Peter Lee is a board-certified dentist and a member of the AAPD, as well as the American Dental Association and the Hawai'i Dental Association. Prior to coming to Oahu Pediatric Dentistry, he received his B.S. from Boston College and his DMD from Boston University. He served four years of active duty in the Air Force in Nebraska, Korea, and Japan before he flew home to enter pediatric residency. He's served the community across the islands, working in private clinics and community health centers on Oahu, Maui, Kauai, Lanai, and on both sides of the Big Island. Dr. Lee also provides hospital dental services for children who have special needs or who cant be treated in office safely. He has two kids of his own.
In addition to her work at OPD, she is on the NYU faculty and chairs a subcommittee, teaching pediatric residents in leadership education in neurodevelopmental disabilities and special health care needs. She's also on the board for the Oral Health Coalition. Still, she says the awards that mean the most to her are the drawings she receives from kids after their visits. If shes not in the office, you can find her out surfing.

We haven't had a problem in the past, but we felt rushed this visit. There was no personal or bedside manner with the doctor. It was a rushed experience with barely any conversation or updates for the parent. The less than 10 min cleaning and doctor check up was surprising and felt like a waste of time and money when driving from North Shore.

I had been looking for a dentist for my children for a while. My 4 year-old would not set foot in a dentist office due to being traumatized before. The staff and office set up, with the themed rooms and TVs, made her so comfortable. She did not cry, and even enjoyed her experience. All of my 4 kids loved our first visit. We are happy we switched to Oahu Periatric Dentistry.

I would recommend to many family's!! They are so nice and they work with you ! As for my kids they are shy and doesn't like dentist before but now they do! And that's a big BONUS! Cute rooms for the kids to feel comfortable and parents could also be there when asked !
