Dr. Johnson is a fun and personable orthodontist who loves to get to know you and your family. As a Spanish-speaking orthodontist in Fort Wayne, Auburn, and Fishers, Indiana, Dr. Johnson can help meet all of your orthodontic needs. Dr. Johnson started his career as a high school teacher after obtaining an undergraduate degree in Biology and a masters degree in Education. After teaching for a while, Dr. Johnson pursued a dental education at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Following dental school, Dr. Johnson entered the Orthodontic residency program at the University of Michigan. Today, Dr. Johnson serves his community at OMI Orthodontics and teaches at the University of Michigan in the department of Orthodontics.
Dr. Dager is a friendly, local orthodontist who would love to meet you and your family. He began his dental journey at the University of Notre Dame, where he received his undergraduate degree. As you may have guessed, Dr. Dager is a big fan of the Fighting Irish. After his undergraduate degree, Dr. Dager received dental training at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, where he was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon. This prestigious academic honor is only given to those who are high academic achievers. Soon after, Dr. Dager received his Masters Degree in Orthodontics from the University of Michigan. Dr. Dager is a proud supporter of the American Association of Orthodontists Foundation, a branch of the American Association of Orthodontics that supports Education and research. Dr. Dager pursues expanding the field of orthodontics through his research. He has papers published in the journals for developmental biology and orthodontics.
Dr. Nye is a fun, quirky dentist who likes to practice his Dad jokes on his patients. After high school, Dr. Nye served as a missionary for his church for two years in Spain, where he learned to speak fluent Spanish. As a Spanish-speaking orthodontist in Indiana, Dr. Nye hopes to treat a broader population of people in his community. After dental school at the Ohio State University, Dr. Nye pursued orthodontic training at the University of Michigan. Dr. Nye also hopes to expand the field of orthodontics through his research. His research on bone biology using 3D CT imaging has won numerous awards. He is also a Board Certified Orthodontist.
Dr. Nye spends time with the woman of his dreams, his wife, Whitni, and their two children. As a child, Dr. Nye grew up skiing in the mountains of northern Utah, and now as an adult, he still loves to spend time outdoors and play sports. He also enjoys music, fitness, and reading.
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that its best for the orthodontist to see children by age 7 to advise if orthodontic treatment is required, and it is the best time for that patient to be treated. The first permanent molars and incisors have usually come in by that time, and crossbites, crowding, over/underbites, and other problems can be evaluated. When treatment begins early, the orthodontist can direct the growth of the jaw while guiding incoming permanent teeth. Early treatment can also regulate the width of the upper and lower dental arches, gain space for permanent teeth, avoid the need for permanent tooth extractions, reduce the likelihood of impacted permanent teeth, correct thumb-sucking, and eliminate abnormal swallowing or speech problems. In other words, early treatment can simplify later treatment and improve overall outcomes.
Orthodontics for adults is extremely common. Everyone deserves a perfect smile, no matter your age. In fact, one of every five patients in orthodontic treatment is over 21. Working with adults can be more challenging, as their mouth and jaw have stopped growing and developing. However, this should not stop you from getting braces. My daughter has been going here for her phase 2 with braces. The staff and doctors are great! Friendly and upbeat. The office is very clean. We like that the doctors are able to include technology and their knowledge to make adjustments accurately which helps speed up the time the patients are in braces. Bringing our next 2 kids here for their phase 1 evaluation/consultation. Very nice practice!

The office is beautiful and clean and all the staff and doctors are always so nice. They have the best receptionists of any Dr/dentist office I've been to, always so friendly and helpful and easy to schedule with. The kids are done with phase one of braces and we have seen such a huge improvement in a short time! I'm so glad we chose to go with OMI!

I have been in braces for about 6 months now. At OMI I have felt right at home from my initial consultation. Everyone there has been so kind and always talks me through everything they are doing. I love this office! From our initial consultation to placement of braces i am overly pleased. The office is clean and all the staff are extremely professional in appearance with excellent customer service! Dr. Johnson does an amazing job at explaining the why behind everything. They really think of everything and take great care of you! My daughter was even sent home with 4 different options for soft foods for her first day with braces. Highly recommend OMI for braces

The OMI staff is incredible. I started my smile journey about a year and a half ago. When I first started I was unsure if I would get the 'Wow!' smile of my dreams. I just didn't think it was obtainable for me. Boy was I mistaken! Everyone there did everything they could, everyone was so friendly and informative. I didn't think I would enjoy braces, but they really weren't that bad in the long run. The OMI staff exceeded my expectations. I can't stop smiling!!
