Dr. OKane is a lifelong member of the Highland community. She earned a degree in Biology from Marquette University before graduating from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry as a Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1984. She joined the dental practice of her father Donald Casey, DDS who began serving the Highland community in 1958. Dr. OKane has a passion for learning and expanding her dental knowledge and expertise. She is a member of the Seattle Study Club, a nationally recognized study group focused on comprehensive, cosmetic and implant dentistry, as well as the American Dental Association and the Minnesota Dental Association. Dr. OKane enjoys providing dentistry on mission trips and through the Give Kids A Smile program. She is an outdoor enthusiast and loves spending time with her family and friends.
Raised in Bloomington, MN, Dr. Monssen graduated from the University of St. Thomas before graduating from the University of Minnesota Dental School with a Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1990. That same year he joined Casey & O'Kane Family Dental, and in 1992 became a partner with Dr. O'Kane. Together they continue to serve Highland Park and the surrounding community. Dr. Monssen is a member of the American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association, and the St. Paul Dental District. A long-standing volunteer in his church and hometown Bloomington where he lives with his wife and three children, Dr. Monssen practices his belief of sharing your gifts. He actively donates dental and surgical services to single parents, the elderly and the disabled.
A native of the Macalester-Groveland neighborhood, Dr. Sara Michel still resides in that neighborhood with her family. Dr. Michel received her B.S. degree in biology from the College of Saint Benedict and her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Minnesota in 2001. Dr. Michel has a goal of working across ages, and OKane & Monssen allows her to provide comprehensive and compassionate care for the whole family. She has a passion for learning and has studied at Spear Education and the Dawson Academy to stay on the cusp of all the latest research and technology. Outside the office Dr. Michel enjoys spending time with her husband and their two daughters. She also enjoys running, reading, and cooking.

It was my first time going O'Kane & Monssen. The front desk people were very polite. When I was taken back I saw Dr.Schley she was very nice and understood what I was needing to know since I was coming for a 2nd opinion, she was very thorough and explained and showed in great detail what she was seeing. Thank you!!

A front tooth fello out while I was brushing my teeth last weekend. I called O'Kane & Monssen at 7:00 a.m. on Monday morning and was given an appointment with Dr. Monssen, my regular dentist, shortly after noon that day, The crown was re-cemented in a few minutes. I live in a neighborhood with many local dentists, but fI happily travel 26 miles to this practice where patients are always welcomed with courtesy and professionalism.

Dr Michel and staff are wonderful. Digital scanning, highly skilled at tooth restoration. Don't know if they are more or less expensive than others, but regardless, I highly recommend.

Dr. Monssen is great! He is conscientious and does not do more than is necessary to take care of the problem. He is friendly and truly cares about his patients. The dental hygienists and front office staff are competent and a lot of fun.

We have always gotten great care with Dr. Monssen and team. But last week they were able to see us as a last minute request to help my daughter with her braces. They are so nice to us all the time and they are an excellent team. I highly recommend them.

Dr. Howley and the entire O'Kane & Monssen staff have been incredible. From the first time I called to make an appointment, Marilee made me feel right at home, almost like I was joining a family. Dr. Howley has been incredibly professional and also educational in the services I have received. Highly recommend this practice.

The Doctors and Hygienists here are top notch. If you ever dreaded going to the dentist for your checkups or procedures, this is definity the place to go. Everyone here cares personally about accommodating your potential discomforts. They will even teach you how to get into the crevices between your teeth at home if needed. Or suggest ways of improving your daily brushing routines based on plaque patterns they find.

I see Dr. Howley, as do my kids. He is friendly and knowledgeable. He's good for cleaning, filling cavities, and he got me a retainer so I don't grind my teeth. 5/5 would recommend.
