Dr. Aaron Takigawa is an Orange County native. He was born in Westminster, then lived most of his childhood in Irvine, attending and playing basketball for Northwood High School. After moving around Northern and Southern California for seven years, he still proudly claims Orange County as his home.
One of Dr. Takigawas most cherished and rewarding memories of dental school was participating in mobile dental clinics in the rural Philippines, in which 1700+ people received dental care for the first time in their lives. With so many people in need and limited contact time with each, the team worked hard to bring a more ongoing impact. The solution was to connect with local missionaries who were living there long term and could raise the collective dental IQ of the rural towns.
Now in Irvine, Dr. Takigawa aims to provide dentistry of the highest quality while still accessible to people of all walks of life. His passion is the relationship positive, lasting impact in more ways than just filling teeth.

I am so grateful to have found a dentist that I can trust. Dr. Takigawa is friendly, gentle, and most importantly he took care of an issue that I had been putting off longer than I should have because I am beyond terrified of the dentist. One visit resolved the aforementioned issue and we are now working together to get my dental health back on track. I am writing this review after my second visit and I appreciate that he doesn't pressure me into doing any unnecessary procedures. I was also pleasantly surprised that he performs the teeth cleanings himself - very meticulously might I add. Melinda at the front desk is also wonderful which makes the appointment process smooth. I usually don't write glowing reviews unless I strongly feel that it's well deserved and I can be honest :) I hope it can help other folks who are scared of the dentist! Dr. Takigawa is a good one!!

Dr. Takigawa has all the attributes of a great dentist - knowledgeable, honest, personable, and skillful. I'm very particular about dentists due to some bad experiences in the past, so I did my due diligence on finding a dentist after moving to Socal. Luckily I found a very good one and don't need to do any more searching. There's a reason why Dr. Takigawa has nothing but 5 star reviews on both Google and Yelp, and it is well deserved.

Had a emergency I went to Aaron for. He took care of it but 6 months later, I went to another dentist and I have to get 2 caps and 1 root canal. I called him to inquire why we did not catch this when he took xrays. No call back yet. I wonder why? I think he may have been negligent. It's now costing me more than a grand. What's the point of a cleaning, xrays and other preventative care?

This was my first visit at OC Lakes Dental and I had a wonderful experience! Dr. Takigawa is a caring and skilled dentist. He took the time to clean and examine my teeth and walked me through everything he was doing. I highly recommend him and will be coming back for all of my dental needs!

Dr. Takigawa is personable, kind, patient, and genuinely concerned about the health and well being of his patients. I am surely recommending him to others. His office staff is also friendly and extremely accommodating. As a first time patient, I was so relieved to find that he is absolutely no frills about your dental health with no annoying gimmicky upsell attempts or hints at unnecessary services or treatment like I've experienced at soooo many other dental practices. He is truly all about quality straightforward dental care. So glad we found him and his team!

Dr. Aaron is extremely friendly and professional. I can tell that he genuinely cares about his patients and makes time to get to know us. I was so surprised that he was doing my cleaning versus the dental hygienist like some other practices. I left extremely satisfied with my cleaning - he was very thorough. I have braces, so he really took his time to make sure i had a good cleaning and boy did my teeth feel clean and smooth! I scheduled an appointment for my husband as soon as I was back at work and recommended him to my coworkers. I really appreciate that he has hours during lunch because I did not have to take time off work. Thank you Dr. Aaron for the exceptional service and I look forward to my next visit.

Only first appointment. Did not make me feel scared or uncomfortable. Gives you quote on cost before work and gives you time to think about it. Second visit. Some pain ,just a little, but shots in gums have always been uncomfortable, no matter what dentist I used. still 5 stars. Had cavities done this time. No pain, pleasant conversation. Sept 19 2018, Last appt. For a while. Painless again and also solved problem with slight discomfort after cavity filled. anesthetic lasted a little too long but I think it has to do more with which side of mouth he is working on. So overall my experiences have been very nice, which is probably a strange thing to say about dentist visits. Feb 2019 Just reg checkup. Did some teeth cleaning while I was there. Dr. Still does it himself. Still painless and complete. Aug 2019 same service as before. Still like.

First time at this office and Dr. Aaron and staff were very friendly. Dr. Aaron was really good at explaining my X-rays and answering any questions. He also made it a point to ask me questions about what makes me comfortable or uncomfortable when visiting the dentist. With the information gathered, he made my first office trip very comfortable. I would definitely return for future dentistry work.
