Nweeia Martin T DDS

6 New St, Sharon, CT 06069

I love what I do, and truly enjoy meeting the myriad of interesting, thoughtful and wonderful people who live in this area. Dental medicine is a unique combination of art and science practiced on people who may have a range of initial emotions from relaxed to terrified. My job is to be compassionate, and uncompromising with skills that result in the best possible outcomes to suit individual personalities. I reinforce to patients that I work for them, and hope that together we can reach a place of mutual respect. After 35 years of practice, I still approach each day refreshed, happy and optimistic, and look forward to helping each patient find care, a solution to their needs, and the best of treatment.

Dr. Nweeia was awarded the doctorate of dental surgery in 1984 and doctorate of dental medicine in 2004 from Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine. He has been trained in restorative dentistry by renown Pasadena, California dentist Dr. Raymond Contino and Honolulu dentist Dr. James Beardmore, and currently teaches at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and as assistant professor in comprehensive care at the Case School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Nweeia completed specialty rotations in periodontics, endodontics and pediatric dentistry in Sweden and trained under Per Ingvar Branemark, innovator of osseointegration (dental implants). Martin has won the distinguished service award from the Connecticut Dental Association, distinguished alumnus award from Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine and awards in comprehensive dental care and programs for the disadvantaged from the Academy of General Dentistry. He is author of the dental consumer guide The Whole Tooth, now in its second edition, and was former syndicated dental health columnist for Gannett/USA Today. He has been named to Fellow of the American and International Colleges of Dentistry, Academy of General Dentistry, Academy of Dentistry International, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy for his skills, ethical practice, and distinguished career. Dr. Nweeia has consistently been ranked by the Consumer Research Council of America as one of the top dentists in the USA, and respected worldwide for his work in restorative dentistry and research.

Dr. Martin Nweeia is world renown for his Arctic research on the narwhal. This includes advances on understanding the tooth organ system, the genetics for the narwhal, and presentations through museum exhibits like the Smithsonian Narwhal: Revealing An Arctic Legend and Narwhal HoloLens using holograms to recreate the Arctic ocean environment.

I have been seeing my dentist in New York for 20 years so it was with some trepidation that I visited Dr, Nweeia for the first time. I shouldn't have worried. Dr Nweeia was clear in his diagnosis. His treatment was as painless as it good be. Highly recommended.

I'm not typically an individual who writes reviews or feels the need to share personal experiences with the public. However, given the out of balance assessment of Dr. Nweeia's services, I feel compelled to reply. By far, I would rate Dr Nweeia as the finest dentist I have ever worked with. I trust that my wife would indicate the same. In addition to being his personable and gentle demeanor, as has been mentioned in other reviews, he is extremely skilled and experienced. As well, his work extends beyond day-to-day dental practice to significant research in the industry. His office is littered with awards from major dental organizations and academic institutions. He should be recognized as a rare specialist in his field. Additionally, my experience visiting the office during the pandemic represents significant caution and careful procedures for cleanliness. Anyone should feel very comfortable with a visit. I won't dismiss the periodic bad experience or misstep that may happen from time to time. However, such cases should not discolor one's overall reputation, assuming they are rare and isolated in nature. This is a concern when publicly applied ratings are averaged, yielding a skewed outcome that may mislead the true perception. I strongly recommend to anyone exploring dental services in the Sharon, CT region to take advantage of Dr Nweeia. He and his staff are of the highest quality you will find, kind and fair with costs.

I was relieved to find a wonderfully kind hearted and gentle dentist here in CT. My husband's family has used Dr Nweeia for decades but this was the first time I've had the pleasure of meeting him. He was able to repair a cap and a filling quickly and painlessly. Happily, his services are affordable. I think I'll get my dental care in CT now when visiting on holiday instead of where I live in California!

I was surprised to see a negative review of Dr. Nweeia, whom I have been seeing for about fifteen years. He does top quality work, and has a gentle touch. He is super-competent, friendly, and matter-of-fact. He is not super chatty, I suppose if you need to be coddled and persuaded to get a cavity filled, you will find him a disappointment. He will give you good advice, a few options, and leave you to make your own decision. He is personable, gentle, the work is top quality, and the price is reasonable. If you want something else, good luck, but that's no reason to give Dr. Nweeia a bad review. He does what good dentists are supposed to do, including sending you away if your problem is in your sinuses and not in your teeth.

I have never had such a bad experience with a doctor. I saw Dr. Nweeia because I had a toothache. He didn't listen to my symptoms, asked unclear questions, and when I couldn't tell which tooth was hurting me (since it was the general area), he decided, quite abruptly, that "I couldn't keep my story straight" (what does that even mean!?!) so he wouldn't work on my teeth and walked out. The way I was treated was completely unjustified and scary. Please save yourself the out of pocket expense. This guy is mentally unstable.
