Nutmeg Family Dentistry has been in the heart of downtown Hartford since 2013. It was founded on the principle of providing high quality dental care in a comfortable setting. The beliefs are continued today as we strive to make your experience as pleasant as possible, using the latest in dental technology and advancements.
Dr. Chaceis a native of Connecticut and has been with Nutmeg Family Dentistry since 2013, having purchased the practice from her dental school classmate, Dr. Nicole Mancini. Dr. Chace attended Syracuse University, (Bachelor of Science, 1995) and University at Buffalo (Doctor of Dental Surgery, 1999). She had previously practiced in Middletown, Connecticut and, prior to that, Pasadena, Maryland. She was listed as one of the Top Dentists in Hartford Magazine in 2012, and is a member of the Metro Hartford Alliance. Dr. Chace now lives in nearby Middlefield with her husband and their two children, and a dog, Moxie. In her private time,she is an accomplished pianist.
Dr Barbara Galbreath joined NFD in Oct 2020 after many years of private practice in Hartford, CT. Her office was in Cityplace since 1990. Dr Galbreath graduated from the U Conn School of Dental Medicine after graduating cum laude with a BA in Biology from Franklin College in Franklin, Indiana. She enjoys her role of Assistant Treasurer at Grace Episcopal Church in Hartford and has also served on the Board of Directors of the Conn Valley Girl Scout Council in many different roles. Black Russian Terriers are one of her passions and breeds and shows her dogs and especially enjoys meeting people who also love the breed. Barb has lived in W Hartford, CT for many years and graduated from Conard HS.
Marais the newest member of the Nutmeg Family Dentistry team. She loves assisting patients, ensuring their comfort level, and completing other duties that will allow her to gain more experience and skills in the dental field. She graduated with certifications in infection control and radiation health and safety from the Dental Assisting program at Manchester Comm. College in CT in 2016. Marais married and has two adult sons and recently became a granma for the first time. In her free time, she enjoys going out, dancing, baking and spending time with family and friends.
Melody is our highly skilled front office financial coordinator. She has over eleven years of dental practice management, and has completed coursework in dental assisting, insurance coding and reimbursement. She has studied Accounting and Management at Tunxis Community College. Melody is active in her church and does volunteer work for soup kitchens and womens' and homeless shelters. She enjoys writing, crafts, family and her dog, Josie.

Dr Chase is wonderful. I've had nothing but good experiences with her. Unfortunately there are members of the office staff who are rude and unprofessional. Makes my visits very difficult.

I love Nutmeg Dentistry! I work and live in downtown Hartford and this beautiful office is right in the heart of downtown in a gorgeous older building in State House Square. I have been a patient at Nutmeg for over a year now and can not express how happy I made the call to switch practices. My hygienist, Mary, is so sweet, unbelievably personable, gentle, and thorough. She is always upbeat and ready for a laugh! Dr. Chase is the single most professional dentist I have ever met. I have had a couple cavities filled since joining Nutmeg and every time I am so impressed with her and her dental assistants. I can tell she is a perfectionist which is exactly who I want taking care of my teeth!! It is an absolute pleasure every time I get to walk into the office! I would HIGHLY recommend making the switch! I've made at least three referrals and all have spoken their praises!

I have been going here for a couple of years now on a recommendation from a coworker and wouldn't consider going anywhere else! Dr. Chace and Mary are extremely dedicated to the work and I have only had positive experiences. It is easy to get convenient appointment times and they are very accommodating if you need to change. I highly recommend Nutmeg!

I hadn't been to a dentist in years and i was apprehensive, but my experience couldn't have been better. Dr Tyurina was skillful and accommodating, and the dental hygienist Mary treated me like family from the moment i walked in the door. Everyone was professional, everything was sparkling clean and the results i got are outstanding. Overall i couldn't be happier, I'd recommend this place to anyone and i intend to keep coming back here for a long time.

Excellent quality and very professional staff. Appointments are always timely but the service never feels rushed. Everyone takes their time to make sure they are addressing even the slightest concerns or change. I have been going for 4 years and have never had a negative experience from appointment scheduling to cleaning or receiving professional consultation or work. I trust this staff completely and am really happy I have found this dentistry. I would highly recommend this dentistry especially to professionals working in downtown Hartford - the location is very convenient.
