Veneers offer a much more conservative treatment option when compared to a crown, and a much more aesthetic option when compared to white composite bonding. The close relationships that Nuance has with the best ceramists and the best porcelain manufacturers on the planet allows us to provided unmatched quality to our patients. The porcelain that we use in our veneers mimics the the optical properties and subtle details that are inherent to natural human dentition: translucency, opacity, fluorescence and intensives.

A crown is one of the most common permanent restorations that is used to replace large volumes of tooth loss that result from decay, trauma, erosion, or congenital defects. Crowns wrap around the entire tooth and may be fabricated from various materials ranging from ceramic to gold or a combination of porcelain and metal depending on the situation.

Crowns offer exceptional strength and aesthetics and provide worn out, discolored and/or painful teeth with a second life. Our patients appreciate the exquisite attention to detail that we put into our crowns. The shape of the crown preparation and location of the margin is absolutely critical to achieving a biologically sound and aesthetic final result. Dr. Cone has developed and published many unique techniques and special treatment protocols for crowns that he teaches to other dentists every year around the world. The results speak for themselves.

A bridge is a permanent restoration that is often used to replace missing teeth when a dental implant is not possible or wanted. In most instances, a bridge will replace a single missing tooth, but may replace as many as four teeth, depending on the location. The materials used to fabricate a bridge are strong and aesthetic, and with proper hygiene and homeware maintenance, a bridge may last for several decades and possibly a lifetime.

We often have patients who are missing one or more teeth and would like to replace them with a permanent solution that is both cosmetic and functional. Patients that have certain medical conditions that prevent the placement of implants, or have a partial denture that they do not like to wear will often be good candidates for a fixed bridge. Bridges can be permanently attached to natural teeth or implants and can be of tremendous benefit when the gums have been lost due to disease, trauma, or birth defects (see several of our cases below).

A permanent bridge is a rigid structure, and because of this, the teeth that a bridge fits over need to be completely parallel to each other. Prosthodontists are the only dentists that receive specific training for this very technically demanding treatment. The bridges that Nuance Dental Specialists provide possess outstanding aesthetics as well as hygiene. We utilize a very specific protocol in the treatment planning, photographic communication with the laboratory, design, and final cementation of each bridge. Nuance Dental Specialists is also the only clinic in the state Maine in which the dentists perform all of the patient hygiene procedures so we are able to focus meticulous attention at each visit on your prosthesis.
