As a pediatric dentist, I am honored to work in such a rewarding field. Dr. Benjamin Robinson was drawn to dentistry, and the pediatric dental specialty, due to the personal connections and service opportunities inherent in oral healthcare. He treasures his patients energy and honesty, and loves helping fearful children overcome their dental anxiety and learn to trust him.
Providing patients with the highest level of dentistry, based on the most up-to-date scientific literature available, is Dr. Robinsons aim. He is dedicated to constant learning, expanding his knowledge and skills, always seeking new means of providing efficient and comfortable care to his patients.
These professional organizations offer numerous opportunities for members to learn. Through continuing education attending meetings, lectures, and seminars, and participating in study groups Dr. Robinson stays current with new advances in his field. This ensures his patients have access to a range of proven treatment options, and that care is tailored to each childs needs.
Dr. Robinson grew up in Menlo Park and returned to the Bay Area after completing his pediatric dental residency in 2018. Time with his wonderful wife, Meridian, and their three energetic sons, keeps him busy when hes not in the office. He especially enjoys his time in nature, from the beach to the woods to the local park: if hes outdoors and with loved ones, Dr. Robinson is happy.
A healthy body includes a healthy mouth! Prevention is a huge part of my philosophy and I enjoy educating parents and patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and nutritional counseling to help prevent cavities before they start. I have so many positive experiences from going to the dentist as a child and I hope to create positive experiences for my patients and their families. It is so gratifying to be able to work with children and make their dental visits a fun and exciting experience.
Dr. Joanna Meekay was always interested in working in health care because she loves helping people and was drawn to science in school. She was encouraged to go into dentistry by her siblings who are also in the field. She absolutely loves working with both the little ones and their families to help promote a positive life long relationship with the dentist.
Dr. Meekay attended the University of California, Davis, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology, Physiology & Behavior. She then attended the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni, School of Dentistry where she earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery(DDS). Upon completion of her DDS, she completed a one year General Practice Residency in Brooklyn, New York. After one cold winter on the east coast she came running back to the Bay area where she was awarded her Masters of Science in Craniofacial Sciences and her Advanced Education certificate in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF).
Dr. Meekay enjoys providing patients with the knowledge to improve and maintain a healthy mouth! Dr. Meekay is constantly learning and implementing new up-to-date procedures and techniques. She is also involved in organized dentistry, and finds it important to stay active in dental societies to best advocate for her patients and community. She currently sits on two committees with the California Society of Pediatric Dentistry (CSPD).
Dr. Joanna is a Northern California native and comes from a large Armenian household. She loves to take her mini poodle, Daphne, on walks in her neighborhood in San Francisco, catch up on podcasts, and play tennis. When she isn't trying new restaurants with friends in the city, you can find her playing hide-and-go seek with her 5 nieces and nephews!

Through continuing education, the doctors stay current on the latest developments in the specialty, incorporating proven new options into the practice and patient care.
Beyond their professional abilities, each doctor is patient and kind, caring about the comfort and wellbeing of our patients. They excel at connecting with children in a non-threatening manner, treating each with respect as they listen and engage. Its not unusual to find one of the doctors crouched down next to an anxious toddler, distracting the little one with jokes or sharing a story.
Our Services: Novato Pediatric Dentistry provides comprehensive, specialized dental care for infants through teens, and welcomes children with developmental and complex needs. Ours is one of the few practices in the region that offers three levels of safe sedation nitrous oxide (laughing gas), and oral conscious and deep IV for patient comfort and optimal outcomes!
Customer Service: We know our patients families have busy lives and we respect their time. From evening and early morning hours to managing our schedule so patients are seen on time and never rushed through a visit, we making caring for growing smiles stress-free!

Everything about this office is great! My son is only two, but absolutely loves coming to the dentist. He loves the fish in the waiting room, the prizes at the end, and the staff are so kind and great with kiddos. I highly recommend NPD!

Dental office assistants Jennifer, Misael and Yessa and dentists are so great with my children. Very helpful friendly staff. Karla was great help in answering my insurance questions. Been going to then since my kids were toddlers. Over 13 years!

Absolutely great pediatric dentistry office. Everyone from the dental hygienists to the dentists are polite to the parents, communicate effectively, and are marvelous with the kids. I have never seen a kid there look frightened or upset about being there. My kids B(5) and B(7) look forward to going. At first I was bummed that they are the nearest office that I could find that accepts military insurance because it is a bit of a drive to get there, but not anymore. I wish all peds dentist offices where like Novato Pediatric Dentistry.

The dentists and dental hygienists are great. I have to give this rating for the front staff and office manager. Given their billing practices, I did have to switch my children to another practice. To provide an example...my son needed dental work. The proposed plan was written up, which included an extraction of a tooth which was wiggly. Since my son would need sedation, they would need to extract the wiggly tooth if it didn't fall out before the procedure. The tooth fell out before the procedure, so an extraction was no longer necessary. The morning of the procedure, I had to pay in full my portion of the proposed dental plan. I explained that part of the plan was no longer necessary. They indicated that if any part of the plan was not performed, I would get a reimbursement. I explained again that I knew that not all of the plan would be performed and shouldn't have to pay for services up front that would never be performed. They advised that I would have to pay the proposed plan or my son would not be seen. I paid it. Do you think I've seen any reimbursement? No. I have called and emailed the office manager and, to date, no check. I cannot recommend this provider given these practices. If you go to a salon, does the stylist make you pay for a color up front when you are just getting a cut and say you will be reimbursed at a later date for the color?

Visited twice in the last week since both my kids had appointments. The office has changed ownership since our last checkups and we were very happy to see that the experience has not changed at all. The staff is super-friendly and great with younger children. We met with Dr. Robinson and he's got great bedside manner. The space is welcoming, super-clean, and has cheery decorations all over. Great for kids who may have dental anxieties. One thing they do that I wish more medical offices did is using text messaging and email to confirm appointments. It makes it so much easier than worrying about calling back to confirm in the middle of a workday. Highly recommend this practice!

I have four children that have regular follow up dental care here. They are professional, quick, and make the experience for children so wonderful. Most recently, my son had an accident and injured his permanent tooth. This office was quick to get him an appointment and repaired it without any trouble and made sure my son was informed and I was reassured throughout the entire process. Would highly recommend them to any and all!!
