Dr. Shreekrishna Akilesh received his DMD degree from Harvard School of Dental Medicine, and a Master of Public Health degree from Harvard School of Public Health. He completed his Pediatric Dentistry residency at the University of Connecticut. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and has served as a consultant for the board. Dr. Akilesh also served as a lead clinical educator for several DentaQuest funded projects including the Four-State Fluoride Varnish Initiative, and the Oral Health 2014 Rhode Island Initiative. Currently, he is the Associate Program Director for the Advanced Education in Pediatric Dentistry Program for Lutheran Medical Centers Arizona Region, comprised of two sites in Phoenix and Tucson. In addition to this he works part-time in private practice in Phoenix. His areas of interest include early childhood caries, caries prevention, and disease management.

Oral conscious sedation is a safe and effective technique used to relax and reduce anxiety during dental procedures. Children are drowsy but still conscious (awake) and responsive to verbal commands. Minimal sedation is indicated for children who experience higher levels of anxiety. In addition, sedation is also recommended for children who are very young or who have special needs and are unable to cooperate for dental treatment.
General Anesthesia if offered for patients that might need a deeper level of sedation than conscious sedation. General anesthesia is administered by a dental anesthesiologist and is reserved for special needs, very young children where oral conscious sedation might not be indicated and/or those with extreme dental phobias that can not be resolved with minimal sedation.
We designed our office with you and your childs comfort in mind. We have arcade video games for the kids and the adults. If your child is afraid or nervous about visiting the Dentist, ask us about our Mock Dental Exams for patients 3 years and under. This is where we introduce them to our office without dental work being done, so that they become more comfortable and familiar. So my kids need some work done. I was told they would call me to schedule the appointment and waited 2 weeks nothing. I called and they said they were booked all November, so I waited for her to give me a date in December, but nothing. The girl on the phone said just keep calling every week to see if anyone canceled.. um i have a job and need to ask for a day off... this place is always booked and then all those homeless outside their office in the morning is scary .

My 2 children had their braces put on here. Being new in town we didn't shop around for prices. Only to find out just how expensive they are compared to other places... over $1000 more per child. Also on my bill it says they are priced as adults. Brackets constantly breaking due to I believe poor glue choice and maybe poor application. 4 brackets broke off before we even left the office the first day. Yet every visit my children are scolded even when we are completely honest about food choices. Yes sometimes they will lose a bracket cause they weren't careful. Sometimes they do nothing and something breaks. Over $7200 for my 2 kids to have braces and they get scolded every. I reached out to the manager Carrie to express my concerns. She seemed as if she cared but I have yet to hear back from her she promised to call me back. I also left a new message after my kids past visit 4 days ago. Still waiting on that call back too. It seems after my initial call to express my concerns now the office is putting fees onto my bill. Spite maybe? My daughter had 1 broken bracket and we were charged for 2 for example. Side note the technicians a always kind and pleasant to my kids. Can't say the same for the Dr. maybe now someone can get back to me.

They canceled my son appointment for not answering the phone on Saturday even tho I spoke with someone on Thursday this dumb and frustrating and now my kids were taking out of school early for no reason you guys should have a better system beside one phone call and canceling appointments what about text messages and emails

Worse customer service for orthodontist. I originally brought my daughter in April for her consult (we have been coming to see the dentist here since my kids were little and never had any issue with staff). I was told someone would call me to go over pricing. Took two months for me to be able to talk to someone. Finally, I was able to get a hold of someone and we booked a date to start her braces. I arrive at the appointment and again just more pictures and now I have to wait until the first to get them on. 4 months later still no braces!!! The coordinator was not understanding at all. It shouldn't take 4 months after a consultation to get in to get braces and then I finally get in. Just for more pictures. Communication about the process is absolutely horrible. Maria had no problem offering a refund and voiding contract. By using this as an only solution you will lose out on a lot of business instead of trying to find a solution for your clients that have been coming here for years.

Don't leave your wallet or else they'll "throw it away" yes I forgot to pick it up for about 3 weeks after my son left it they kept his school Id but the money and wallet I guess were thrown away

So I have to say the dentist was really really awesome. He did a great job. However, I didn't get anything in my hands or online that I could access regarding what was done to my child or what I was being billed. Apparently this is standard practice for this company. Since this is what the lady helping me said to her coworker. I also was not informed I had to fill out a records request form to receive my child's information of that days visit. Which I did and I have no problem with this. However Considering I had been their b4 and also had not received anything to have for my records regarding his visits. I wish I had been given the dental record request with rest of the paperwork I signed then I could have signed it ahead of time. So I will be waiting a few days and will be retrieving all his records and will be taking him somewhere I can have paperwork and/or an online account to access his information without having to wait. I also do not like the fact no one could give me any reasons to why they do anything other than regarding dental procedures. I also did not receive any billing information. I do not care that I wasn't charged at the time. It does not make up for not receiving any information at all at either appointment. Its my child's dental health I'm in charge of his well being and should know everything ahead time on paper or online. It's not your teeth it's my child and he has every right to his information same-day not whenever you feel like giving to us. Very disappointed.

I have been taking my kids here since they first open and we love it . We have had around bad Times there with certain CSR being a bit rude but it's not all the time . And with all this going on I think they have done great taking care of their staff and patients.

The dentist was so rude to my son he's still in pain when he told him it was hurting him as he was doing the procedure he told him don't start!!!! I been going here for years and this has never happened so disappointment!!!!!

They DA's and doctors were really helpful and friendly. They explained everything, and were very open to see if I had any questions during my child's appointment. This is going to be our go to Dentist office from now on, since we live in the area as well.
