Dr. Jariel Norton was born in the small town of Homer, La. He graduated from Homer High School in 2005 as the class valedictorian. He was also named the 2005 Claiborne Parish Student of the year. Dr. Norton was an All Area and All State basketball player in high school, and chose to attend LSU-Shreveport after high school.
He lettered as a member of the LSU-Shreveport mens basketball team for 3 years and graduated cum laude in Biological Sciences in the top 10% of the college of sciences in 2009. Dr. Norton attained his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from Texas A&M/Baylor College of Dentistry in 2013. Dr. Norton then completed a 1 year Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at the Central Texas VA in 2014.
Here, he became one of the few general dentists certified in level 3 parental (IV sedation). He also received dental implant placement/restoration training as well as fabrication of sleep apnea devices. Dr. Norton would then go on to complete theComprehensive Implant Residency Program in Birmingham, AL where he learned to performadvanced implant placement, bone grafting, and sinus lift surgery.
In the summer of 2017, Dr. Norton graduate as the youngest African American male Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry. He reached this milestone in only 4 years, the fastest that this award could be attained. Only 7% of dentists nationwide have attained Fellowship, and now Dr. Norton is apart of that elite group and looking towards Mastership next.
Dr. Norton has two sons, Jariel Jr. and Braeden. He says his ultimate goal is to become the program director for an AEGD program and eventually dean of a dental school. Dentistry is my heart, and as long as I am living I will devote my life to learning as much as possible about my craft, are his words when asked how he feels about his profession.
Tangie was born and raised in Homer, LA. She is a graduate from Homer High School. Tangie attended Grambling State University and graduated with a Bachelors of Science inRecreational Therapy. She also attended Northwest Louisiana Technical College, where she is a recent graduate of the Licensed Practical Nursing Program. She offers Norton Family Dentistry 12 years of healthcare experience. Her main focus is caring and advocating for patients. She has a son Kendrick, and a daughter Leilah. Outside of the office, Tangie loves spending time with her family and friends

I found Dr norton and he took my insurance. The staff and himself were very friendly He explains what he is doing. His offices and rooms are very clean. Going to him is a great choice. I still am with some more work to be done. I highly reccomend him

Worst dentist I've ever been to. Beyond rude. I had a broken infected tooth and because I was in too much pain for a teeth cleaning I was belittled and made to leave. If you can go anywhere else, I highly recommend it.

Y'all when I came in I was in bad pain, barely could open my mouth or talk etc. I was nervous but they worked with me. The staff was veryyy kind and patient and they talked me through each step. Dr. Norton is the absolute BEST!!!!!! He pulled 2 of my teeth and when I say I didn't feel a thing not even a pinch!!!!! Definitely will be making them my permanent dentist

Truly a 5 star dentist the entire staff was friendly,courteous and professional my x ray tech was awesome she made me feel comfortable I was so nervous Dr Norton pulled my teeth pain free and also corrected a mistake made by a previous dentist .Thanks Doctor Norton and staff for a job well done I will definitely be back

The staff were very friendly and Norton was awesome I've never laughed so much at a dentist office before. My old dentist told me I would have to have major surgery on my wisdom tooth because it was so far back but Norton removed it with no problems at all and he did it so fast most definitely recommend this office to anyone.

Dr Norton picks n chooses he he will c. Not professional and wont let me c him because of personal reasons. Would not recommend him if u r not a friend of his. Needs to learn how to treat everyone the same. No matter your race or color.

Came into this office for the first time and was amazed. The office was clean and the staff was so friendly. Dr Norton pulled three of my teeth and I didn't feel a thing. I've always had terrible experiences at the dentist so I was very afraid. The office was very busy so I didn't think he would have time to see me. But he squeezed me in the same day and I feel so much better. He explains what he's doing the entire way. I'll definitely be sending my business his way.

Well I enjoyed my time there i waited a few hours no prob cause I like the atmosphere. But another day being that they were short staffed they moved my time back so I tried to reschedule because the time wasn't good for me. So she told me there's a cancelation policy which I understand but if yall are the reason for the change anyway why can't I just reschedule? I gotta be back for work & based on last time I know it'll be a lil wait time so I didn't wanna be late for work that's why I accepted the time they initially offered from jump If u have to change my time I should be able to reschedule for a time best for me. All & all I did love the visit though never got frustrated once because the environment was great. And just curious why did it hurt when he pulled my tooth? Maybe the urgency I sensed. He Didn't let the numbing medicine sit at all. 1st time ever experiencing pain at a dentist office. In such a hurry! Maybe I caught a bad day. thought it was just me but a neighbor asked did it hurt cause she was there earlier & he couldn't pull hers cause it hurt. And love to blame. Well I felt by his comments 'oh u done let it get worse thats why it hurt'. It dont matter what I did... If u tell me u can numb & pull a tooth u should be patient enough when someone says it's hurting to atleast be gentle. In such a hurry. Should warn me of any possible pain. Thanks to his assistant he had by ny side & the other nice lady who cleaned My teeth. I feel they are so rushed. They can't finish 1 thing he calling for them to do another. Can't rush on ppl mouths. Other than him always in a hurry I loved everything else. Had to take 3 stars back. Then gone say "she done bust up all her front filling." Babyyy I do not even eat on those front teeth & those filling been there for over a decade is it the scraping that busted it up? Now my teeth hurt across the front top & bottom right side. Now I'm afraid to go back for root canal
