Hello everyone! I lead Northwood's Family Dental, and I couldn't be happier to be in my hometown since 2019! My main focus is preventative dentistry where I strive every day to help patients avoid and overcome dental disease. My interests in dentistry were strong before I graduated from Rhinelander high school, in addition I pursued interests in cosmetology, the forest service, and renewable biodigester energy--a unique combination--I know! Dentistry was always closest to my heart. I attended Nicolet College and graduated from the University of Oshkosh with a B.S in Biology. I then pursued additional schooling and graduated from Marquette School of Dentistry and graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. I returned to our community to provide a wide variety of dental services with my mentors. I am passionate about the care I provide and hold myself to the highest standard to incorporate new dental technology in northern Wisconsin and to help patients with dental anxiety feel comfortable in the dental office. I am a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Wisconsin Dental Association and the American Academy of Esthetic dentistry. In my free time, I enjoy designing our website, striving to improve my physical fitness, cooking and delving into pet therapy.
You can find Sarah here helping or behind the scenes answering your most difficult insurance questions. Sarah came to our office with a great deal of understanding the hospice environment and strives to make our office what it is todayupdated, informational, and convenient. Sarah and I graduated together from Rhinelander High School and Nicolet College. Sarah continued her education and earned her bachelor of applied studies in Business Communications at University of Wisconsin Green Bay with office assistant and receptionist skills. Sarah works hard daily in implementing the 7 habits of highly effective people and enjoys giving back to the community and her own health and fitness goals outside of work. We are very excited for Sarah to help us provide quality care to our patients.
Ashley loves spending time with her family and enjoys her new job at work. Everyone, meet Ashley! She loves being oudoors as most all of us love Northern Wisconsin for. You may see her camping, boating, or snowmobiling in her free time. She loves spending time with her kids and traveling to see new places. Shes also a dog lover. She enjoys providing the best customer service our office can provide while making our office fun she enjoys a good laugh and lightening up the atmosphere. Ashley lives right next to dognsuds in Tomahawk and hasnt been there in years. Youll have to encourage her to check them out when you visit us.
Francesca Bocek graduated from Nicolet Technical College with her degree in Registered Dental Hygiene. Franny and I also had some classes together at Nicolet! Shes a go-getter who works in multiple dental offices here in Northern Wisconsin. Franny takes pride in making sure our patients have squeaky clean teeth and feel comfortable in our atmosphere. Franny takes great pride in attention to detail and her helpfulness in answering patient oral health care questions.
Hello everyone! Meet Shannon. Shannon enjoys spending her time outdoors biking, walking or snow shoeing and spending time with her pets. Thankfully like Dr. K Shannon only lives a block away so in the event of a snowstorm rest assured. Shannon takes pride in learning new things and finds great joy helping patients in the dental field. She first found out about her career in dentistry when she became a medical assistant at Nicolet College and decided to apply her skills in helping patients smile.
Danyel and Dr. K met at a neighborhood cookout and usually bring up the best way of disposing of Christmas trees (be sure to ask if you meet Danyel). While Danyels kids played in the grass Dr. K pondered how awesome it would be to have Danyels caring characteristics be a part of our family dental practice. Danyel has helped the office succeed at several late night patient caring hours and enjoys keeping our office as clean as possible. She enjoys the step challenges that Dr. K promotes in the office. Danyel has only begun her career in dentistry and we are excited to see where this position takes Danyel.

I would and WILL be recommending this place to any and everyone around! They helped me get a broken tooth fixed in a matter of weeks after calling, got me right in to take care of my cavities, and to top it off their bedside manners and ability to handle any situation is superb! Best dentist around, in my humble opinion!

If you are a minority, do NOT call here, they are prejudiced! They turned me down because I have tribal insurance and my insurance allows me to go anywhere. They tried to say it's because I have forward health. So I asked if they could just bill my tribal insurance and leave forward health out of it because it expires on the 31st of Dec anyways and I don't use it. But they said they would have to bill forward health too but since they don't except it, they wouldn't see me What a load of crock!! That's too bad! My tribal insurance pays really well and it starts over on Jan 1st so if I needed more work done, that's more money they could have made. But whatever... their loss not mine.

We moved from MO a year ago and I spent some time searching for a dentist. My initial visit was fabulous! They were on time, Jenny did a spectacular job cleaning my teeth, and Dr. K made me feel very comfortable asking questions. She was knowledgeable and shared info with me about my situation that my prior two dentists had not. I believe I have found my new dental provider!

Absolutely wonderful dental office! Charlie is a sweetie. I've had both Franny and Jennie clean my teeth and I enjoy treatment from both! The office is easy to find and the staff are very friendly and COVID conscious. Dr. K knows her stuff.

This is by far the best dental practice I have ever visited! I have a long history of avoiding dental care due to pain/anxiety. Dr. Koehn and staff are professional, kind and personable. I am a difficult person to get numb enough to work on and Dr. K is patient and creative. In the past I've had dentists continue to work on my teeth when I'm obviously uncomfortable, today she kept making adjustments until I didn't feel a thing. The emotional support puppy doesn't hurt either! Recently I broke a tooth and she got back to me quickly and got me in right away, I've never had a dental provider be so responsive. I will recommend this dental office to everyone I know.

North woods Family Dental has been an absolute dream. After not having been to the dentist (for various reasons, mostly due to insurance restrictions) in many years, they have been very accommodating, non judgmental and so inviting. I have brought both my children here as well who have previously went to a pediatric dentist and both have stated the team at Northwoods were so extremely nice and friendly, they can't wait to go back in 6 months! Thank you so much for your kindness and your small town feel where you walk in and they know your name!

I recently moved my entire family over to Northwoods Family Dental, and I absolutely love it there!! Even my 16 year old isn't dreading going to the dentist anymore! The staff is so friendly and make you feel so comfortable it's fantastic! I recommend them to anyone

I was looking for a dental office in the area after I recently chipped my front teeth and my regular dentist is over an hour away. I googled area dentists & so many options came up. As I was reading reviews and info on each one, Northwoods Family Dental came up and I knew this was my first choice! I first saw the photo of the office, then I saw the hours and loved that they have a day they stay open late into the evening. But what really caught my attention is Dr. K's biography online. I called & was able to get in right away. I figured because I was a new patient I would have to go through all the new patient procedures and not have any actual work done the same day. I was amazed that she was able to fix me up at the same appointment! I was able to print the new patient paperwork from the website & fill it out before my visit which was great. Getting my files transferred was a breeze and they were able to schedule a cleaning for the following day with Franny who did a great job as well. I didn't have any discomfort during or after my appointments. This is now my new dental home and would definately recommend Dr. K and her staff to everyone. A big plus is her therapy dog in training, Charlie. I haven't met him yet but can't wait to one day. I think it's great that she's implementing Charlie to help patients feel more at ease. Thanks Dr. K & staff for making my transition painless!

We just moved here a couple of months ago. I just had my first cleaning with Franny. She was very nice and did a great job, fun to talk to also. My husband and daughter have cleanings coming up and I am sure they will be pleased too. Dr. K and everyone else I encountered were friendly and professional. This experience is adding to my list of things I like about living in the small town of Rhinelander =)
