Everyone at Northwoods Dental is friendly and professional. You can tell they all work well together and enjoy working there. They have always worked around my schedule to find appointment times that work best. I have had cleanings, fillings, a root canal and a whitening done over the last year. I love my smile now thanks to them!

Dr. Demi and all of the workers at this office are all so kind and welcoming. I'm terrified of dentists but they all made me feel so incredibly comfortable. I could not recommend this office more.

Took me years to get the courage up to go to a dentist. I had multiple extractions and now have teeth I can smile with. I would recommend this dentist to anyone. So compassionate and caring. I was worried how I would be treated because of my bad teeth but the care that they showed was incredible. Thank you so much for giving me my smile back.

Northwoods Dental is the best in the area. All of the staff members are extremely sweet and professional. I've never been treated with such kindness at a medical office. The hygienists and assistants are always really sweet to me, and they communicate very well. I see Dr. Tyburski and he always is very patient with me, and takes away my nerves. He also provides me with all the options possible for my care, and gives me autonomy in my choices. He wants the best for me, I can tell, and I never feel pressured. I will never go anywhere else. Not to mention, I never feel any pain or discomfort.

This place never has appointments available that work for me. I need after 3pm so I can leave the kids home with my husband. They will schedule me for 8am and say well this way if we have a cancelation open you can take it. They never give me a cancelation. So now I need to reschedule and they rescheduled me for May 2022.. I haven't been able to get an appointment for a cleaning in over a year now. Not to mention when I bring my kids in I arrive 5 minutes before our appointment and we don't get in until 30 plus minutes after our scheduled time which Is hard for little kids to wait that long.

I want to warn everyone out there to think twice before going to Nortwoods Dental in Skowhegan. During my First visit there, it was determined by Dr. Joseph Penna that I need to have three fillings replaced. I was the first patient of the day when he did the work, and he was in a hurry. After a month, I continued to have constant pain in one of the teeth he had filled. When I called the Skowhegan office, I was told to take Tylenol, and that I could not be seen due to COVID19. I explained that I thought I could have a missing filling, but still, Tylenol was suggested. Did they tell me then that if I had not been seen soon due to a possible lost filling, that I would lose my tooth or I could have turned ill due to bacteria buildup??? No. They only ever suggested Tylenol and never informed me of the consequences if I did not immediately find a dentist willing to help me. So I suffered a great deal for another month until I could not handle it. I eventually saw an emergency dentist who sent me to a specialist despite COVID19. Since then, that tooth has had a root canal, and will now need a permanent filling and a crown. We are talking $3000 now for that one tooth. The emergency dentist has explained that, although a filling thankfully did not fall out, bacteria was likely left behind during Dr. Penna's job, ultimately leading to this disaster. I have also since realized that the other two filled teeth, which sit side by side, are filled so tight that I cannot completely floss between. I have pictures of Dr. Penna's botched job and, I can share proof if anyone cares to see. These two teeth now also hurt with pressure when I bite. I pray to god that I don't need another root canal for either of them. This is my experience, although I am sure Dr. Penna is filled with excuses. To each his own.

Let me start by saying the issue I have with this office isn't due to the dentists themselves. I find them both to be very competent dentists. The issue I have with this office is that it is almost impossible to get in when needed. They split their time between their offices in Portland and Skowhegan with limited availability in each. I had to wait almost 6 months to get a crown done after they did a root canal due to completely full schedules at the Skowhegan office. Every time I visit I get the come back in a month, however when I get to the front desk to schedule the month becomes two or more due to full schedules. I was finally able to get my crown done yesterday. I went home and once the novocaine wore off noticed that something wasn't right with the temporary crown they put in. It didn't feel right and it keept catching my tongue whenever I ate. I call the office and lo and behold, they can't get me in but I can go on the cancelation list. I am now forced to live with a bloody and swollen tongue because they have too many patients for their schedules. It's not right.

Great office, they make you feel really comfortable, but their prices are outrageous. Anyone with Dental insurance typically receives $1000. annually in benefits and over 1/2 of that was used for ONE appointment. Just for the Dr. to talk to you to tell you what they want to do, they charge $75.00.... really ????? Wish I could afford to stay with them :(
