Trust is so important to me. I understand how scarce trust is today in general, but it is especially important to have when it comes to trusting someone with something so personal as your teeth and your smile. After all, your smile is such a defining factor of who you are. Because I understand that trust is earned, everything I have done as a dentist is intentional to building genuine trust; from the quality of people I hire to work with me, to making dental mastery a lifelong pursuit, to taking the time to develop real relationships with my clients.

Changing lives through changing people's smiles makes me so excited. I started in my pursuit of dentistry because I hoped I would find a career that would satisfy both my curiosity to learn demanding science and the joy l had experienced with my art endeavors. Not coming from a family of dentists, it was a big leap of faith to start along that path. As it turned out, there was also an unanticipated reward I found when helping patients to healththey so often became friends! In addition I get to to find and bond with my amazing second family of teammates. Dentistry has been an even more perfect match for me than I imagined. I'm so thankful I'm a dentist, I can't wait to come to work every day, and I can't imagine having done anything else for a career.

Dentistry, like many industries, is changing extremely rapidly. I made a commitment early in my career to stay on the forefront of dentistry so that my patients could trust that they were receiving the best care, whether they joined me when I was 30 years old or 50 years old. I've found that holding to that commitment means between 30 to 100 hours per year of continuing education and a significant financial sacrifice, but being able to treat patients with confidence and authority makes it more than worth the investment.

I love that l am participating in dentistry's emergence into the world of digital technology. My participation in CEREC Doctors, Spear Institute, Washington Oral Surgery Study Club, and the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry gives me insight on the newest and best in digital dentistry.

When it comes to my team I've chosen to work around me, my goal has been to find the most talented, people-oriented team members and then to keep them around for as long as possible so we can develop and enjoy long-term relationships with our patients. We have team members with ten, 15, and even 25 years of tenure. We have tried to create a culture where our team members and patients feel like family.

Dental offices can sometimes turn into unhappy depressing places. At our office, on the other hand, we have had clients say they wish that they could work at our office because they hear so much laughter and see us having so much fun. What a great testimonial! I grew up in Idaho Falls, Idaho, started my family in Marysville, and have now raised my family in Snohomish for the last 20 years. My wife Kristi and I have been blessed far more than we deserve with our three boys and one girl who have made life a joy for us. They have a love for life and adventure and have always wanted to do things together (including the oldest three getting married within eight months of each other in 2018.

It has been a privilege over the last ten years to go with each family member along with other Marysville Noon Rotary Club members to the remote Mayan mountain villages of Guatemala, where we built schools and installed stoves in the huts of some of the poorest but sweetest people on earth. We have tried to make serving others a guiding principle in the lives of our family, whether through work, school, civic groups, or church, because service to others in all its forms grounds us in the values that are truly important, fends off depression and burn-out, and brings a little more joy to the world we live in.

In order to expand our team talent pool and skill set, to allow us to treat people in a more timely manner, and frankly to help extend my own career, our team is thrilled to announce the addition of Dr. Jeremy Koontz. A smile can make the saddest of experiences better and greatest of times unforgettable. Many of my greatest moments, relationships, and accomplishments have all started with a simple and confident smile. I also believe that the only good reason for not smiling is to telling a good joke. If fear, embarrassment or a lack of confidence are holding you back from smiling, what else are you missing out on? Ive always found joy in seeing my patients quality of life and self-esteem improve because of the dental care we provide. I appreciate the relationships Ive established with my patients. Growing up in Enumclaw, Washington I learned at an early age how rewarding and satisfying sincere service and hard work can be. One of my favorite quotes is by Albert Einstein, Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile, and has been a phrase I have tried to model in my life.

Being a part of a community means a lot to me, so I try to participate in several meaningful ways. Faith is very important, so I am involved in our church. As a dentist, I have participated in Healthy Smiles, Give Kids a Smile, and MedWorks programs, all of which dental care to those who may not receive it otherwise. It is very gratifying to help others overcome dental infection and pain, but it also makes me very appreciative of the amenities and blessings many take for granted.

Although I am passionate about dentistry, my first passion is my family. My wife and I will be celebrating fifteen wonderful years of marriage and together have four children. Our two girls and two little boys keep us busy and entertained. We love to go camping, hiking, ride bikes, watch movies, gardening, and have an occasional dance party as a family.

In the spare moments between family time, work, and church service I find joy climbing mountains, competing in bike races and triathlons, working in the yard and on home renovation projects, and restoring and repairing classic motorcycles and automobiles.

I began my career in dentistry in 1994 as an assistant. In 1997, I became a dental hygienist. I love getting to know my patients and their families and helping them to maintain and improve their oral health. The care I provide is customized for each patient and his or her unique smile. I also enjoy working with a team that is 100 percent committed to taking care of our patients. As a team, we treat our patients and each other with consideration and respect.

I joined Northwest Smile Design in 2002. I assist Dr. Peterson and Dr. Koontz with many of our patients restorative procedures. I enjoy working with people and being able to make them feel comfortable while in our office. Smile makeovers are the best part of my job; giving someone his or her smile back is very rewarding.

I began my career in Dentistry in 2019 after graduating from EWU with a bachelors of science in dental hygiene. My favorite part about being a hygienist is when patients have 'light bulb' moments and helping them understand how oral health impacts overall health.

I have worked with Dr. Peterson and Dr. Koontz at Northwest Smile Design since 2007. In my 20-plus years as a dental hygienist, I have had the opportunity to treat all levels of dental needs. My favorite part of my profession is when you feel better and become aware of the importance of oral health and its connection to your overall general health.

I reside with my husband and two children in Arlington. We have dogs and cats that keep us laughing. In my free time I enjoy family activities, movies, game nights, and being on the go. My favorite travel destination is anywhere with a white sandy beach and palm trees.

I began working at Northwest Smile Design in July 2020, after completing a dental assisting training program in June. My role in the office is sterilization tech/hygiene assistant. Although I am new to the profession, I have learned so much in the last couple months. I enjoy coming to work every day and seeing the joy that comes with creating and maintaining beautiful smiles!

I joined the Northwest Smile Design team in January 2022. My career in dentistry began in 2003 as a dental assistant. In 2019 I returned to school and graduated as an Expanded Functions Dental Auxiliary. As an EFDA youll find me helping Dr Peterson and Dr Koontz by placing fillings. The most enjoyable part of my job is meeting new people and helping them feel at ease in the dental chair.

I have been Dr. Petersons office manager since 2014 and am very proud to be a part of the Northwest Smile Design Team. I started in dentistry in 1993 as a dental assistant. My constant desire for learning and new adventures brought me to the front office a dozen years ago. Dr. Peterson, Dr. Koontz and every member of our team are committed to providing excellent care and personalized attention to each patient. I have been in the dental field since 2005. I started as a dental assistant and transitioned to front office within a few years of joining the field. I joined the Northwest Smile Design team in March 2022. I will graduate from the Dental Assisting program through Sno-Isle TECH skills center in 2022. Most of the time I will be in the back sterilizing instruments or assisting our Hygienists! Although I just recently started, I have already learned so much and am so thankful to be a part of such a great team!
