Dr. Halpern is a periodontist who earned his Bachelor of Science Degree and Doctor of Dental Surgery from Emory University. He completed a dental residency program at the University of Miamis Jackson Memorial Hospital. Dr. Halpern received his residency training in Periodontics at Emory University School of Dentistry.
Dr. Halpern established his practice in the Marietta/Woodstock area over 25 years ago. His interests include Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure (LANAP), Chao Pinhole Surgical Technique, LASER periodontal therapy, dental implants, bone and gum augmentation, and cosmetic periodontal procedures. Dr. Halpern and his staff strive to provide a professional, caring, and comfortable environment for our patients and use the latest technologies available for their benefit.
Dr. Halpern is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association, the Northwestern District Dental Society, the Georgia Academy of Dental Practice, the Georgia Society of Periodontists, and the Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity. He is a Fellow of the International College of Dentists, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, and the G.D.A.
Dr. Halpern is an adjunct clinical professor in the Department of Graduate Periodontics at the Dental College of Georgia. He is actively involved in the NWDDS and the GDA. He is the former president of the Northwestern District Dental Society and serves on the Board of Trustees of the Georgia Dental Association. He is a delegate of the GDA and ADA. Dr. Halpern is a member of the Center for Interdisciplinary Dental Studies.

I have had my share of dental struggles throughout the years, and Dr. ElMaraghi (El) has been absolutely lovely to work with! She takes her time addressing my concerns and answering my questions and is very thorough and professional. I was referred to her by an oral surgeon who highly recommended her, and I'm so glad that I came to Northwest Periodontics for a second opinion! Dr. El performed a specialized procedure using a laser that saved my tooth. The hygienist are always very thorough in doing the deep teeth cleanings and are so sweet and caring! The front front office staff has always been cordial and accommodating with appointment times. Overall, I highly recommend this practice.

5 stars isn't enough for Northwest. I had severe periodontal disease and during my consultation, Dr. Halpern informed me I may loose some of my teeth, but he would do his best to try to save them. 5 years later, my teeth are doing great and I haven't lost any. I have never gone in there without everyone smiling and knowing my name. This place is truly amazing.

I had a wonderful first experience with NW Periodontics. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I was seen by the doctor quickly, and her knowledge and expertise really put me at ease. After discussing a treatment plan, someone was able to thoroughly explain to me the costs and contributions from my dental insurance. It was a great experience from start to finish.

Getting an implant is never an experience that you wake up and say, "Gee let me replace my teeth today!" The doctors, assistances, technicians and office staff all do a fabulous job at making you feel comfortable and walk you through the process step by step. Every aspect of the procedures are explained as well as costs and options. I am glad to be in the hands of N.W. Periodontics. When it comes time to start my procedure, I know I will be in reliable, professional and caring hands.

First visit for a procedure I've been putting off for over a year. I am totally impressed with all of the support personnel and my periodontist ! Laser gum treatment is state of the art and promises to improve my dental health. Looking forward to a long and strong relationship with this practice .
