Dr. Anuja Kothari was born and raised in the Chicago suburbs. She obtained her Bachelor of Science at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Dr. Kothari completed her Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Illinois at Chicago. During dental school, she received several awards including the American Institute of Orthodontic Research Award and the Illinois State Dental Society Award. Following dental school, Dr. Kothari completed a post-graduate residency program at Nova Southeastern University to obtain a combined Specialty Certificate and Masters Degree in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. Dr. Kothari served as the Chief Resident during her time at Nova Southeastern University.
Dr. Kothari is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, and Chicago Dental Society. Through these organizations, she keeps up-to-date with technological advances and contemporary orthodontic treatment techniques.
Dr. Kothari understands that parents and patients want to know what to expect during treatment and knows that it is her responsibility to be an educator. A focus on great oral hygiene is a big part of our patient care system. A great smile after orthodontic treatment is only great if the teeth remain healthy and beautiful. Dr. Kothari appreciates that it can be challenging to maintain great oral hygiene and works with each patient to keep their teeth healthy. Additionally, she understands the importance of great communication with your general dental provider and works hard to keep everyone on the same page.

Orthodontic appliances are made of metal, ceramic, or plastic. They may be removable or they may be brackets bonded to the teeth. By placing a constant, gentle force in a carefully controlled direction, braces slowly move teeth to the proper position.
Gone are the days when a metal band with a bracket was placed around each tooth. You can now choose clear or metal brackets and, in some cases, the color of your appliance. Wires are far less noticeable, and the latest materials are designed to move teeth faster with more comfort. Today, any age is a great age to wear braces!
Treatment time varies and can last between one and three years, depending on several factors including age, treatment method, and how minor or severe your case is. A big factor in a successful treatment is you! The more involved and diligent you are, the more efficient your treatment will be. For children, receiving interceptive or early treatment can also help provide a quicker treatment time.

We enjoyed our 1st vist at the Streamwood off. Lori made sure we felt comfortable and welcomed from the time we walked in til the time we left! Dr. Kothari was really great! She was very informative. She's helped me to understand what's going with my daughter. I would definitely recommend this office. We are considering continuing our business with them!

I enjoy the way my son Edjuan is treated by the team and Dr. Kathari. They deliver great information in a comfortable way. And also treat him in a manner that allows him to show his maturity or grown into it. Very pleased with the service so far.

Everyone in the office is outstanding. The front desk is always helpful with scheduling and are so welcoming. The Assistants are kind and talk with you to get to know you as a person, not just as a patient. Dr. Kothari helped my smile be something to be proud of. She talked with me every time I came in and always let me know if I needed to do something to help me get my braces off faster. My braces experience was so good, I didn't even mind having them in; I was actually sad to get them taken off. I love Northwest Orthodontics and will miss everyone so much.

I had a great time when I was here! Everyone is fun to hang around and talk to, they're easy to get along with and will never leave you with just some boring dental appointment. Dr Kothari and her staff are extremely kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. I had braces for 3 years, and I always looked forward to going into their office every month. And also my teeth look great! I had a great experience at Northwest Orthodontics and I am going to miss going there every month.

Dr Kothari has treated 2 of our kids and we could not be happier with our experience. Not only were the results amazing, but she was incredibly friendly and gentle. The kids loved her. When I was 12, I went to Northwest for a braces treatment, and everyone was so kind and helpful. It was very obvious how much they cared about you and that you will be satisfied with your smile. 8 years later, I had to come back to seek Invisiline treatment, and despite my embarrassment of having to return to straighten my teeth again (from not keeping up with my retainer!), the same passion and incredibly supportive environment was still very apparent from the staff! I always felt like each appointment was a positive experience, and I felt good about my choice of seeking oral treatment and choosing Northwest again. As an out-of-state college student, Dr. K was extremely accommodating to my situation and helped me successfully progress in my treatment. I'm super thankful to her and everyone that helped me with becoming satisfied with my smile! I'll never forget my time at Northwest, and I wish nothing but the best for all the wonderful ladies!
