Dentistry is my true passion in life. When Im not in the office, I still think about it! I have been given the great opportunity to change peoples lives in a positive way through this great profession. I take this responsibility very seriously and strive every day to provide the highest quality of care with a special consideration for each patients individual needs. Giving people the confidence to smile is such an amazing gift, and Im thankful to my patients for placing their trust in me and my team.
I am very passionate about being the best dentist I can, and constantly try to improve my skills and expand my services through continuing education. I have taken hundreds of hours of continuing education in implant dentistry. This enables me to keep all of our implant procedures inhouse, which is convenient for the patients.
I am also certified in IV sedation, a rarity among general dentists. I continue my education because I truly enjoy learning about new procedures and being able to provide these services to my patients.
In addition to continuing my education, I have also been involved in education and training of future dentists. Prior to moving back to Puyallup, I was the director for the Regional Initiatives in Dental Education in Colville.
When Im not in the office, I can be found with my wife Tazzmarie, my two sons Robby and Ty, and our chocolate lab Zoey. My free time is spent staying active and exploring the beautiful Washington landscape.
I cannot put enough words into this review to express my appreciation for Dr. Hanks and Mandy!! All of the staff here is incredible, but if it were not for Dr. Hanks providing this service and making it affordable for those without insurance, I would still only have half a mouth of teeth. As a recovering addict, I needed many dental implants and visited numerous clinics looking for an affordable (but still quality, these are my teeth!) plan involving many dental implants and my chances of having a beautiful smile felt slim, until Dr. Hanks. I was able to get all procedures, barely any pain (another reason to visit this dentist!!) and I am finally able to smile and talk to others with a beautiful set of teeth. I recommend whole heartedly. Thank you for saving my life and helping me to start a new!! You guys are truly the greatest!!
What has always been the most dreadful experience for the last 18+ years when taking our special needs son to the dentist, turned out to be an absolutely amazing experience. For the first time we did not have to tie our son up or have multiple people hold him down. I am forever grateful to the amazing care that Dr Ryan and his staff provided to our son. I so wish we had a 10 star review button. Highly recommend!!!
What an absolutely amazing dental practice. After breaking a tooth on popcorn.....yes, I am addicted, these guys helped me get a much needed implant. I was super nervous about it and they totally rocked it. Plus, they were priced so that it was affordable. SO, SO, SO impressed!
We absolutely love this place. Dr Jackson has done wonders for my child in making her smile bigger. She was extra careful with her sensitive areas and made her visits that much easier. Heidi at the front desk is always a delight to see and does an amazing job informing us of our schedules and what to expect for the next visit. My family moved from Poland to the Pacific Northwest where I was born and raised. I attended the University of Washington where I studied Public Health, and then completed a Masters in Biomedical Sciences at Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ, where I also received my Dental Degree. Although it was nice to enjoy the warm winters in Arizona, I was very eager to return to the PNW to practice dentistry.
Outside of the office, my husband and I enjoy all things related to food. Whether it is cooking it, trying new combinations of it, or using it as an excuse to gather family and friends together, count us in! I am always open to new food recommendations, so if you come see me please share the meals or restaurants that make your stomach happy.
Dr. Rose enjoys getting to know all her patients and the rewarding relationships she develops with them. As an orthodontic specialist with training at the world-renowned Harvard School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Rose has been practicing specialty care in the Seattle area. Dr. Rose grew up in California, where she attended the University of Southern California for her undergraduate studies in 2000. Majoring in Biology and Economics, she excelled and graduated with honors after just three years of study. A Summa Cum Laude graduate, she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and Golden Key Honor Society and received numerous scholarships throughout her academic career.
Inspired by a positive orthodontic experience as a child, Dr. Rose accepted a scholarship to one of the most prestigious Ivy League schools, the University of Pennsylvania School for Dental Medicine. At the University of Pennsylvania, she was elected as an honoree of the highly-regarded dental organization Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society. Dr. Rose continued her orthodontic training at Harvard University, graduating at the top of her class. Trained by the professions most prominent instructors, she brings her experience with numerous orthodontic techniques, appliances, and technologies to the Seattle area. This includes unmatched expertise using Invisalign techniques to achieve outstanding results.
Dr. Rose is an avid learner who loves to keep up with the most current orthodontic treatment modalities and latest technology. When not providing exceptional orthodontic care for her family of patients, Dr. Rose enjoys trying new cuisines, watching movies, and exploring the many Northwest parks.

IMPRESSIVE...BEST OF THE BEST...PROFESSIONAL...HONEST...TRUSTWORTHY...ABSOLUTE BEST QUALITY...UNREAL VALUE...I struggle with words to describe this amazing dental practice!!!!!!! I broke a tooth...needed an implant but had no pain and therefore let the tooth get infected for nearly a year. I was one of those patients with a raging infection to complicate the implant procedure. I just didn't know because there was no pain. I am so grateful for the amazing skill, talent and gentle hands of Ryan Hanks, D.D.S. I am 63 years old and have had many excellent dentists work on my teeth...yet Ryan is the Best of the Best. I would drive 150 miles to have him work on my teeth...I am so fortunate to have such an excellent dentist. I purchased firewood from a farmer in Enumclaw and gave him a check and a business card from NorthWest Family Dental Care. Most dental practices have consultants that try to charge each patient the maximum amount for the least amount of work. NorthWest Family Dental Care is making a positive impact...Your Dental Dollar will go MUCH FURTHER and the quality is amazing. It has now been two weeks since my rear molar implant. I have no pain...the procedure was a complete success and my mouth feels GREAT!!! The pain I had was mostly due to the infection. The antibiotics prescribed did the job and the prescription for pain was only necessary at night and was never over a 2 out of 10. My appointment was at 1:00 and I was sitting in my car at 2:00 Totally Impressed!!! My implant took extra time because of the raging infection in my mouth. The dentist gave me extra shots in my mouth to control the added pain from the infection. I went to my old dentist last week for a scheduled tooth cleaning and heard the hygienist talking about NorthWest Family Dental Care to the dentist. They were looking at the X-RAYS of the implant. The dentist came in and told me that he is near retirement but has never seen such a progressive implant. He plans on researching and switching to this new and better method. My wife and I have an excellent dentist in Auburn, but we are trusting all our dental care with NorthWest Family Dental Care in Covington WA. They are truly a Step Above Excellent...that is why I rate them TEN STARS OUT OF FIVE **********

PAIN! He caused so much pain that I will never go back to Dr. Hanks. My jaw is still in tremendous amount of pain that he caused, my right side of my jaw is still swollen after almost a week. He was in such a hurry to get to his child's soccer game, that he didn't care how hard and fast he was digging into my jaw trying to retrieve the roots out. Not only was that a bad experience, but my "teeth cleaning" amounted to only the number counting thing they do and she scraped a few teeth, that was it. I need to go to another dentist to get my teeth cleaned properly.

Great group, Very thorough, and I really like that if I need a crown, the finished product is created and fitted during your initial visit. Not a temporary and another visit a couple weeks later.

Always a pleasant experience with NW Family Dentistry. Everyone is very friendly and ask plenty of questions and really seem interested in my responses. I have no regrets changing to them upwards to 7 years.

I don't feel I received satisfactory cleaning, the dental hygienist did not clean every teeth, but spot cleaned, she must felt some tooth did not need cleaning. My past experience says I end up needing extra cleaning next time. She was done cleaning in 10-15 minutes.

Staff is always friendly and professional. Dr. Jackson truly cares about your well-being while caring for your teeth. Takes time to explain what she is doing as she moves through your visit. Highly recommend!!

I am so forever grateful to Northwest Family Dental Care. I have had age horrible childhood trauma around dentistry that caused me extreme anxiety. I moved to Covington And received a flyer in the mail. As the means became available I reached out. I've never been treated with such dignity and for once I didn't feel stupid for being so afraid. It was embarrassing to be my age and have such childlike fear. Bottom line is I am no longer afraid to go to the dentist I don't have any anxiety I just go they treat me with such respect your conscious of my fears and respect them I love this place and would recommend it to anyone they do excellent work and Dr. Hanks is an artist with implants . I am truly grateful for this place in many ways it save my life I had such severe infection when I first came here I'm really grateful the doctor had to take the time to make sure I was good and hear years later I'm still going to Dr. Hanks even if I have to say to get there I encourage anyone to go to great place everybody there is amazing

I've taken my very anxious, had-an-AWFUL-dentist-experience-in-another-state 8 year old in twice now and they have been so, incredibly, patient with her both times. Both hygienist's clearly read the notes I provided them and walked my girl through slowly and thoroughly, building her trust. I don't actually anticipate any anxiety at our next visit! I've had one cleaning myself and was also very happy- but that's a mole hill compared to the mountain that is my kiddo's comfort in this setting.

I came for orthodontics consultation with Dr. Heidi telling me that using Invisalign will help fix my bite. They way she made very quick conclusion made me think if she was paid by Invisalign to get me to use Invisalign. The way she said was very reassuring, so I went ahead and start the treatment. Few months into the treatment, she left saying she moved to another office and the North West Dental hired new orthodontist. When the new dr took over, she told me Invisalign is not going to help to fix my bite and need to change to regular braces. On top of that, they asked me to pay $500 for the change of treatment!! I wasn't the one who choose Invisalign to begin with! Dr. Heidi recommended me for Invisalign and now I had to pay $500?? So with the back and forth, I finally made them waive the $500. The new orthodontist may have the knowledge but zero empathy to patients. impression of the new orthodontist was she is a women of commanding presence. Barely had any time for Consultation with her to discuss concerns. The only answer I got from her when I explain my concern was "if you don't want to, then that's the best we can do". At the very least she could have discuss and let the patient be informed of all the options and recommendations?? Awful communication skills! Also, she's not the most gentle person either when handling patient. She would grab your chin firmly and almost force to tilt my head to get to the position she desire. I am a very easy customers to please, and typically don't have many complaints or leave bad review. But I feel like I had to do this so others be aware and set their expectations right when they go here for orthodontics treatment. Great assistants and front desk people though. I'm still their patient for the next few months. We'll see what happens when I have my visit, which is scheduled for next month, after I post this review.
