Eugene dentist Dr. Shawn Eckstrom grew up in rural Central City, Nebraska. He attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln for his undergraduate studies in Biology. After four years of undergraduate studies, he was accepted into The University of Nebraska Medical Center - College of Dentistry. In May of 2001, he received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree. In July of 2001, Dr. Eckstrom relocated to the Pacific Northwest and made Eugene, Oregon his home to practice dentistry.
Procedures he performs in the office include dental implants, root canals, cosmetics, fillings, crowns, and oral surgery. Dr. Eckstrom continues studying to stay up-to-date with the latest technology. He is a member of the Oregon Dental Association, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Oregon Academy of General Dentistry, and the Lane County Dental Society.

Wonderful first visit, my hygienist was both thorough and fun at the same time, and Dr. Eckstrom explained things to me in terms I could understand, and seemed interested in my input in regards to future treatment and what I was interested in having done. Edit: After 3 years of care here, I can't imagine going anywhere else. Everyone who works here is amazingly kind and talented. Northwest Eugene Family Dental scores a 100 out of 100 in my book.

I like this dentist and hygienist a lot, they know I'm a coward at the dentist and do their best to make me feel better. The only I don't care for is pushing fluoride products - those of us who don't use them shouldn't have to be defensive or explain ourselves.

Accidentally called Northwest Eugene Family Dental instead of my usual dentist, and I'm very glad I did! Great service, good cleaning, friendly team, and they got me in right away. Definitely coming here from now on!

Great first meeting with Dr. Eckstrom and staff. Courteous treatment backed up with clear information about my dental issues and treatment options. I have two more treatments already scheduled and have been shown more options if I want them. All in all, a great start.

Rebecca, Margaret and receptionist (sorry, forgot her name). In which I had experiences with, are all A+..I have no doubt the rest of the staff is no different.. Certainly made my change over to a New dentist office stress free. Kudos to the Dr. as well. Am sure you'll feel the same if you give them a chance. P.S. let ya know how root canal coming up goes. Feeling good about the odds after today and the meeting and experiencing them.

Dr Eckstrom and staff associates are THE BEST Dental service in Eugene currently! Extraordinary work ethic and extremely thorough, all of them! Great compassion for their patients; going the extra 10 miles for my wife and me!!! Thank you for your excellence!!! Jenny is THE BEST hygienist Ever to clean my teeth! I waited a year to have what started out as a simple filling fixed, and in the interim the filling fell out and further decay ensued. Dr. Eckstrom was able to replace the filling in a matter of minutes, and save me from having a crown. Dr. Eckstrom and his staff are knowlegeable, and efficient. Friendly, and relaxed this office is a pleasure to come to, never a bad experience!
