With this in mind, we utilize the latest evidence-based techniques and technologies to ensure clinical excellence.

Northwest Endododontics is one of the oldest endodontic practices in the western suburbs of Portland, Oregon. Located in Washington County, we treat patients from Beaverton, Hillsboro, Portland, and beyond. Our longevity is a testament to the personalized service we provide to our patients. We strive to make the patient experience pleasant and comfortable, while providing the best possible treatment outcomes.

Dr. Alyson Barnes received her Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University. After graduation she worked as a researcher and a high school chemistry teacher before deciding to pursue a career in dentistry. Dr. Barnes received her dental degree from the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco, CA and then worked in private practice in Massachusetts before deciding to specialize in endodontics. She received her certificate in Endodontics from Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, OR.

Dr. Barnes is a licensed pilot, and when shes not flying or performing root canals, she enjoys exploring the numerous restaurants and watering holes in the Portland area (and then running or hikingto burn off all of those calories).

Dr. Rares Deca is proud to call beautiful Oregon his family home. He grew up in Portland and graduated with honors from Portland University with a BA degree in Biology. Dr Deca received his dental degree from Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine (Class of 2009). After graduation he completed a residency in advanced general dentistry (AEGD) and then worked in private practice in Massachusetts before deciding to specialize in endodontics. Dr. Deca received his certificate in Endodontics from Columbia University Postgraduate Endodontics Program (Class of 2014).

Fun fact: Both Dr. Barnes and Dr. Deca worked as general dentists in the same building in Massachusetts for about 2 years (2010-2012) without crossing paths, just to meet in 2016, become friends and eventually endodontic partners.

Top notch service. Dr. Deca and his assistant Jackie did an amazing job with my root canal. Jackie was absolutely exceptional, explaining every detail about the procedure. And I could tell Dr. Deca is an artist when it comes to endodontics. I felt like I was in good hands the entire process and appreciate the warm smiles! Thank you NW Endodontics!

I had a root canal redone by Dr Barnes. I was worried about because I knew it's possible to loose my tooth but Dr Barnes worked tirelessly to save it! I am so grateful for the extra effort she made. Not only that , but there was no pain during the whole ordeal. Not even when she administered the injections! Great staff from the front desk to the nurses, doctors. Friendly and helpful. Many thanks!

Terrible. We were referred from another office. They took an expensive set of xrays days after we'd had a set done to tell us they didn't think it was worth the root canal. Apparently there was an issue with insurance, paid out of pocket and they charged a late fee. Little interest in patients, lots of interest in collecting money.

I had a root canal performed here and had an AMAZING experience. The front office team are great and very thorough. There were no surprises as they explained everything to me. Dr Deca and his team were awesome too. Had a pain free root canal and they even followed up the next day. Hopefully I won't have to have anymore root canals, but if I do I know where I'm going.

Wonderful doctors and staff! I had broken a molar, and I ended up needing my first root canal! I was very nervous. My experience from walking in the door To leaving the chair was exceptional. The front office gal was so caring and sweet to me, the assistant was so gentle and calm, and the doctor did such a great job during the numbing process, I hardly felt a thing! I ended up seeing both Dr Barnes and Dr Deca, they were both very gentle and great with explaining everything. Amazing office and staff. I highly recommend this great team!

In pain and they got me in right away. Super nice doctor and staff, made me feel at ease and explained everything to me. Found out Dr Barnes and her partner just took over the practice but they clearly have experience. Felt great after a day or so! No hassle procedure.

Dr. Barnes and her staff were terrific. As someone who has high anxiety with my dental challenges I'm keenly aware to a good staff who makes me feel welcome and cared about. Dr. Barnes was exceptional, she explained in great detail what the problems were and gave me a myriad of options for a solution. I felt heard and understood from the time she began her evaluation until the time I waltzed out the door. Thank you NW Endodontics, if I or anyone I know is in need of your services you can bet I will send them to you!

Dr. Barnes did my root canal yesterday. I've had them before and was nervous/anxious. She did SUCH a great job with the anesthesia (not easy given my circumstances), and the procedure itself. I feel so much better today! She was so talented, caring, patient...couldn't have hoped for a better experience. And thanks to Dr. Tyler Bradstreet, my dentist, for recommending her to me.

I do not write reviews. However, I genuinely believe that Northwest Endodontics deserves more than a 3.5 rating. The staff was genuinely very welcoming, they take the time to explain what is happening and they will gladly explain/answer any questions that you may have. I personally got a root canal from them due to a broken tooth and best way I can explain how it went was I don't remember majority of it because I ended up falling asleep during the surgery. It have only been 2 weeks after the surgery but the past two weeks have been amazing. Finally able to chew with the right side of my mouth and not have to worry about hot or cold food touching my broken tooth. It's good as new!

My immediate thought after my root canal was that it was as pleasant as it could have possibly been! The whole team was so welcoming and personable, and was night and day compared to a prior root canal (previous owner). I don't know what has advanced in endodontics in the past two years, but it genuinely felt like a gentle procedure. I asked to have steps explained to me (it's interesting!), but if I hadn't I probably could have taken a nap. Book with confidence.

I've had my share of root canals, and the one performed by Dr. Daca and team was about as good an experience as one could expect. I had no pain on account of them using a pre-injection anesthetic, and that's despite my tooth having long and curved roots. My roots were so long it took two sessions to complete the job. Both times they called to check in on me to ensure everything was still OK. I also enjoyed their sense of humor which adds to the relaxing atmosphere. And they tell you what they're about to do so you're not surprised by anything.

Dr. Barnes and her team are among the kindest and most compassionate medical professionals I've ever worked with. I went to Dr. Barnes with a partial root canal that a different endodontist had started. After a terrible experience with the first specialist, my dentist referred me to Dr. Barnes. I was super nervous after my prior experience, but I was quickly put at ease with her wonderfully positive and gentle energy. She patiently listened and addressed all of my concerns while remaining very respectful of my preferences. She did a wonderful job working on a very difficult tooth in addition to working around my TMJ troubles and tiny mouth. I highly, highly recommend this practice!
