In 1976, Dr. Phillip Surosky received his undergraduate degree in zoology from the University of Maryland, College Park. Between 1976 and 1980, he attended the University of Maryland Dental School, receiving his Doctorate in Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree. After dental school, Dr. Surosky completed his residency at Monmouth Medical Center in New Jersey.
Since returning to Maryland in 1981, Dr. Surosky has been practicing in all aspects of general dentistry, including periodontics, oral surgery, endodontics, and cosmetic and restorative procedures. His 37 years of experience enable him to handle all situations, including, among other things, comforting apprehensive patients, managing complex dental problems and providing reasonable pain management.
Proper patient care is Dr. Suroskys first priority. Consequently, he employs extremely professional and personable staff, who allow patients to feel confident and comfortable during treatment. All of Dr. Suroskys dentists, hygienists and office staff have been directed to make concerted efforts to control patient costs, while providing quality dental services in a friendly and conscientious manner.
Throughout Dr. Suroskys career, he has kept abreast of the latest developments in the practice of dentistry, subscribing to dental journals and attending countless courses and seminars. His practice uses the most advanced tools and materials and employs modern techniques and procedures.
Dr. Surosky spends the majority of his free time with his wife, children and grandchildren. They enjoy summertime at the beach, swimming, exercising, going to movies and restaurants, reading, and playing games and cards.
Dr. Michael J. Weitzman, D.D.S., was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, and has spent his career treating local Baltimore residents, in addition to state and nationwide patients, with a high-level of dental care. Dr. Weitzman earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from The University of Maryland School of Dentistry in 1977. Prior to dental school, Dr. Weitzman attended The University of Maryland, College Park, where he graduated with a B.A. in 1973.
Dr. Weitzman has been a practicing dentist since 1977, and has been with Valley Dental Associates since 1988. Throughout his career, Dr. Weitzman has approached practicing dentistry by putting his patients first. 'When practicing dentistry, nothing is more important than the patient. I have always been of the philosophy that to be a successful dentist, dedication to your craft as well as a devout appreciation for your patient 's concerns are essential.'
Dr. Weitzman has extensive experience in a wide array of general dentistry treating patients of all ages, including general dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, endodontics, implants and restorations such as bridges and crowns. Dr. Weitzman prides his treatment of patients using the latest technology, including the most advanced materials, state-of-the-art equipment, and newest techniques available in the industry. 'I continually devote my time to studying leading edge developments to ensure my patients are treated with the latest technology when it comes to dental care.'
In his spare time, Dr. Weitzman is an avid sports fan, regularly attending Baltimore Ravens and University of Maryland sporting events with his family. When he is not practicing dentistry or attending sporting events, Dr. Weitzman enjoys listening to classic rock, keeping up with his favorite television shows and spending quality time with family and friends.
Dr. Monil Mistry earned his doctorate from Tufts Dental School and served as senior adviser to the emergency clinic at Tufts Dental School. He has been practicing family dentistry since 2012. He grew up in the Reisterstown area, and outside of the office, he enjoys volunteering at local soup kitchens, mentoring area youth, spending time with family and friends, traveling, and reading Eastern philosophy.

Our staff consists of team members with specialized training and certifications, and years of experience in treating patients with the highest level of care. We strive to stay abreast of the very latest in technology and advances by regularly attending continuing education courses and seminars.
Michele Dowell is a Registered Dental Hygienist. She has been practicing in the field of dentistry since 1984. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland Dental School where she was the recipient of a coveted award for her skills. Michele started out as a dental assistant before receiving her formal training at UMAB. She has been practicing at Northwest Dental since 1991. In addition, she also practiced for 15 years at a highly respected dental practice in the Baltimore area that specialized in periodontal surgery, dental implants, and prosthodontics. Having this additional education makes her even more of an asset to Northwest Dental. She is very empathetic, compassionate, and is commonly referred to as the 'Pied Piper' of children.

I have been going to Northwest Dental for several years. Everyone is fabulous. The front desk staff is always quick and friendly. Dr. Mistry is a wonderful dentist. He is quick and gentle with the cleanings. He always explains the different options for treatment and answers questions with knowledge and care!

My appointment is scheduled for early Friday morning...and I must say that the lovely woman who answered the phone and my questions (i cannot remember her name but will update when I find out) was the most pleasant, kind and understanding woman I have ever encountered while scheduling an appointment for myself that I am so nervous about. Her compassion towards my needs was felt through our short conversation and it made a world of difference in my decision of whether to schedule or not. Dr. Weitzman is the best dentist I have ever experienced in my 57 years. When two other very experienced dentists wanted to pull my two underlying teeth beneath my cosmetic crowns he was able to save them both. He will do anything for his patients and fit you into any working day that is completely filled if need be which is the situation today with me.

Great staff and great people! They have been helping me correct my dental issues piece by piece and gone absolutely above and beyond in trying to help me keep costs to a minimum since it's all coming out of pocket. No question, they are the only people I trust and depend on to take care of my dental needs. My next door neighbor is another of the popular dentists in Owings Mills and there is a reason I drive to Northwest rather then walking next door. HIGHLY recommended, awesome people.

At my check-up I asked Dr. Mistry who was going to do the cleaning and he said he was because they were short a hygienist. Dr. Mistry inspected my teeth and then shortly said I was done. Later that afternoon I thought, hey, I didn't get my cleaning! I called up and inquired of procedures for cleanings and then said, I was just in and didn't get any of that! The receptionist asked Dr. Mistry and he lied, saying yes I did, but if I wanted I could come back in the next day for the cleaning. They had already submitted the cleaning to my insurance and I ended up forfeiting one of my 2 annual cleanings. I would never go back because they can't be trusted.
