Tara Halliwell-Kemps bedside manner is terrible. Better hope you dont have any problems after a procedure. Her response to the after hour calling will be "please refrain from calling" even though the staff emphasizes the use if there is a problem and, "and even if there was a problem, i couldnt do anything until monday".

I normally wouldn't write such a bad review on an office like this one, but I'm so appalled by the behavior of this business.... Their is a reason why it's rated so poorly and I'm mad at myself because I was given the advice by a former patient of theirs not to take my daughter there but I unfortunately went against my better judgement and brought my daughter there anyways, and it ended with my poor daughter leaving hysterically crying!! I have consulted with other oral surgeons since my daughters mishap with northtowns oral and maxillofacial surgery and every single oral surgeon I've spoken to about my daughters horrific experience cannot believe how mistreating and unprofessional northtowns oral was.... If this review can just prevent one future possible patient of northtowns then it was worth it to me because NO ONE , especially a child should feel the way my daughter felt walking out of a professional business..... They will charge you more than they should and tell you the insurance company didn't cover whatever procedure your having done, MAKE SURE BEFORE YOU VERIFY ANYTHING BEFORE GIVING THEM ANY MONEY!!! On top of the unspeakable treatment they attempted to get an entire $2,500 from me and thankfully I called my insurance company who informed me they had already submitted 100% coverage of all and any oral procedures and as I kindly attempted to speak the receptionist at northtowns she shut the window in my face and walked away.... I could keep going and going about our experience at this office but the more I do the more I get upset again , I have never been treated so poorly but more than that my poor daughter was absolutely distraught....

Several months ago my wife, an RN, struggled to rearrange her work schedule a month in advance specifically to set up an initial consultation for a dental implant with this office. Just several hours prior to her appointment the office called to cancel her appointment (of course only customers get billed for last minute cancellations...). When she then attempted to reschedule her appointment, she was told there were no openings for the next couple months. She explained, to no avail, that it was the dentist who had cancelled her appointment, and that her tooth pain was gradually increasing. One might believe there would be some scheduling consideration given here. But the best they said they could do was schedule her for a consultation several days later, in the morning, BUT ONLY IF SHE COMMITTED TO HAVING THE EXTRACTION THAT VERY SAME AFTERNOON! The whole point of the initial consultation is to fully understand the details/costs for a very costly implant procedure, and it's essential to make the best choice among several dentists. We believe it's unethical for a dentist to require (i.e. force) a commitment from a prospective patient to proceed with expensive dental work as a prerequisite to an initial consultation. This office apparently lacks customer focus and any tolerance for being compared with others, and only values lining its own pockets. And it wasn't even a free initial consultation - they charge for that too... As a follow-up, this morning my wife just had the implant work finalized by a very competent and professional dental implant office located on Walden Avenue. We felt compelled to provide this feedback so others would be aware that there are multiple options available for this costly procedure, and it's wise to compare providers from a competency, professionalism, cost, and also behavioral perspective.
