Dr. Kulesa grew up in Northeastern Ohio, but she has called Columbus home since 2005. She received her Bachelors degree from Xavier University, and went on to the Case School of Dental Medicine, where she graduated in the top of her class. She was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the Nation Honor Society for Dentistry, an organization that represents the highest achievements in dental scholarship, professionalism and ethics. Dr. Kulesa has also recently earned her Masters in Business Administration from Ashland University.
Dr. Kulesa has built Northstar Family Dental around the philosophy that oral health can be maintained in a comfortable, relaxing, and even enjoyable environment. She has devoted her professional career to all aspects of general and cosmetic dentistry,and enjoys treating patients of all ages. Dr. Kulesa is certified by the Ohio State Dental Board to perform both Oral and IV sedation and has a passion for helping patients who experience severe dental anxiety.
Northstar Family Dental has grown tremendously since opening in 2010. To keep up with the demand, she has assembled an elite group of doctors to provide expectational care to the growing practice. Although her first love will always be treating patients, Dr. Kulesa spends much of her time focused on the vision of the company and mentoring her team.
Community involvement is a fundamental part of the Northstar Family Dentals core values. Both offices are active participants in a number of local organizations and charities. Dr. Kulesa has been recognized by Sunny95s Outstanding Women in Columbus and as a Hometown Hero for her role as a female entrepreneur advocate and her charitable work in the community. She has also been honored by Smart Business Magazine as a top executive of one of the smartest 50 companies in the region based on her ability to effectively build and lead a savvy organization. Dr. Kulesa was selected by the Ohio Dental Associations Executive Committee as the 2021 recipient of the Marvin Fisk Humanitarian Award, which is given to dentists who have provided oral health care to those in need by donating their time, skills, and personal resources.
Outside of the office, Dr. K, as she is know to her patients and team, enjoys playing tennis and traveling. She spends her free time with her husband, Steve, their two daughters, Sophia and Stella, and their adorable pugs Frankie, Rosie, Bruno and Daisy.

My 7 year old daughter had to have a little extra help from Dr. Pheifer and the team at Northstar Family Dental to get the tooth fairy to come to our house! They are always absolutely amazing with our family. Our daughter didn't even realize it was over and after so many medical procedures in her life, it is impressive she didn't notice. Can't thank Dr. Pheifer enough. Northstar Family Dental also donates lot of time and support to local non-profits in our community, including The Byron Saunders Foundation Delaware County! It is really special when you find a company that supports their customers and community so consistently. It is even more special when they have it as part of their mission and live that mission each day.

Recently I needed to have a crown installed. While the procedure was not that big of an issue. The service I received after my temporary crown was cracked was unbelievable, they got me in right away. Just so happened my permanent crown was not due for a couple day arrived while was in the chair. The doctor and staff was great. Thank you!!

Switching from a pediatric dentist to a general dentist was a breeze. Both my son and I are new patients to this practice and I have to say, we both felt extremely welcomed. I went to a few other practices over the last few years (pre COVID) before deciding on which one to stick with prior to switching my son. After my own initial visit, I knew this was it. I'm big on customer service, but more importantly the way I'm made to feel, which is why I did not stick with other practices nearby. From my standpoint, I like the location, office is nice, staff super friendly and welcoming! I love that they offered me a blanket--super important for someone who is always freezing, and I appreciate the little items they offer on your way out like mints, chapstick, hand sanitizer and of course the Cheryl's cookies! Lol The doctor and hygienist that I had were AMAZING! Both funny and knowledgeable--extremely down to earth. Felt like I was chatting with my girlfriends at home. A++ for that one! Lol They did something interesting that I've not seen before, which was asking me if I like just the basics or detailed info concerning my visit. Most times I want details but some days I just want to be in and out, so that was appreciated. I've met 2 of the docs--one from my visit and another during my sons initial visit and they were both really nice, but I have to say that the dental hygienist that my son had, which I cannot remember her name for the life of me (so sorry ) was great with her education to my 14 year old. She knew not to overwhelm him so she skimmed lightly on everything, but chose one topic to focus and work on with him, which was the importance of brushing at night versus morning, if he had to chose only one (of course we want twice daily, but he's a 14 year old boy, so there's that ). And last, but most certainly not least... again... it's those darn Cheryl's cookies that made a huge impression on my quickly growing 14 year old boy--it just made his day. Well, it was the cookie and missing history and English that morning! Lol Oh, and thank you for the welcome gift! I'll be able to utilize it with my patients who are always asking for one, and my son needed one to have with him at school. Side note to staff: Whoever's idea it was to put the cookies on the counter as you walk out--they are a genius!! It's like they read my mind and put those there just for me! High five to you!!!!
